I take it you meant the Altamont Speedway Free Festival in December 1969??
Santana , Jefferson Airplane , and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and some others I can't remember also played there before the Stones hit the stage
Must be hard not to want to want to enjoy any of their music either because of one incident??
You are missing out on some good stuff
But being a very fair minded person you couldn't blame one band without blaming the others??
That is of course pre-supposing that it was actually the bands fault?

I know rock'nroll is evil but I don't think it made the bikers go and stab some guy at a drug frenzied concert in the sixties... by rights the little devils who killed the guy should have paid for the funeral... not the performers... any ways you missed alot of good music and good times... I wasn't a fan back then only 8 y.o. but when I saw the movie "gimme shelter" I said I gotta see this band... and so I did... They are a little long in the tooth now but worth the effort to go see... I know I will again.... Wild Horses couldn't drag me away... Wild Horses we'll ride them some day....
by the by there might be a little bit of devil in all of ya....

Every storm is perfect..........
Storms that sweep the heavens
Sweep our minds...our lives
Ripping open the serenity in which we breathed
Lulled into a sense of 'everythings ok'
Then comes the wind
Rattling the shelters we thought were firm
Making a mockery of all we had constructed
Raw, untamed and exposing all the debris laying calm
Whipped into a frenzy it lashes us with truths
So long hidden....there....but in the calm...unseen
Come wind, come fury, unleash your precious lode
Whip debris into sight and sweep the rotting carcass out of view
Cleanse the air and sweep the bitter skies
Let tears course down in reverence and in joy
As all exposed now withers, dies....and is born once more

Exactly what the hell is happening in here again
We have people writing from the heart
Then we have the same people being targeted with rubbish
This seems to be an ongoing thing in poetry lately
Someone writes
Someone else, who defintitely should know better attacks that writing
at the same proclaiming love light etc etc
at the same time saying they cannot understand why so many writers are leaving POF
We write because WE Want to write
If you want to respond to a write do so
If you are one of the VERY VERY few who have sufficient knowledge to do so
praise or add suggestions to the write, or critique that write ONLY IF ASKED by the Writer
How dare the same poetically ignorant people continue to denigrate others efforts?
You all know the instigators
Only YOU can stop them
Leave it as is and more real writers will leave
