Sometimes the only response is

May your gods give you exactly what you deserve.
Amen

Been playing with a publisher
So only stuff unfit for publication goes here now

Dark Angel
Menageries of moments
but one still wreaths my mind
a septic tank that ferments
to leave rawness behind

moonlight played its serenade
bewitched we danced alone
my goddess; my companion
my Helen on her throne

targets of assassins
its always been the same
royalty has dignity
forever there is blame

struck her down as we danced
rare poison in her veins
vivacity and life removed
nothing else remains

I screamed to you dark angel
vulturine guardian
give me back my lover
just play your violin

oh what pure unearthly tones
guided your hands well
led us from our paradise
to unforgiving hell

her simply perfect empty eyes
acknowledge now no life resides
her body moves as in a trance
forever as our nightmares dance

so I lost forgiveness
forever on that night
all regret is fruitless
death chuckles in delight
..

Trung Tam

bar girls hover
demented butterflies in drag
maggots at a wedding feast
inviting emptiness and relief

we live
don't we
perhaps for this moment we do
or was it THAT moment

There is a sound
or is it a sound
more a silent rush
as bullet hungrily meets flesh
and you don't bother screaming MEDIC
for you already know

Chuck and Charlie bought it
their impregnable castle
based on ghetto blaster and china white
crashed and burned

our eyes say nothing as the worm turns

bar tab grows
beer and shot

Demented
Perhaps
memories of arc light
of Puff the Magic Dragon
naked jungle hill where the gatlings splayed
stumps of trees and men and friendly fire

beer and chaser as the bar girls hover

Sky pilot
richly decked in some foreign belief
hovers patiently with his coke and prayers

10am as Siagon stinks
richly sticky foetid stench of rot and damp moving tiredly in the wash of useless fans and dripping sweat

Our god
behind the bamboo bar as lord and master
worries over nothing
we merely seek oblivion

cold hard man in a safari suit grimaces in silence
trapped within his falling dominos

Naked child screams from the door as the MP's move in
until they see the twitching worms of madness in our eyes

bar girl hovers closer
hunting barracuda
much cuter than she was five hours ago
..

Mates
Convict torn thus was born
a spirit that runs cool and free
it trouble looms empty rooms
show the aussie destiny

Land of browns, it burns and drowns
here freedom is the core
don't hesitate to help your mate
built into the score

From far and wide fly or drive
to lend a helping hand
no pay but satisfaction
just so you understand

Cracked red lips and fingertips
despair can show no trace
Gallipoli the standard
etched into a weary face

In huddled intervention
with blanket and a cuppa
volunteers throughout the years
delivering the supper

Midst the strain of bushfire, rain
calamities unwinding
digging deep their word to keep
raw courage in the finding

Mates beckoning and reckoning
"Keep your chin up cobber
Done it tough; enoughs enough
Better day tomorrow"

On the track out the back
ashes tell the story
a tiny twig; one hopeful sprig
sprouts in all its glory

"Selamat datang rumah naga"

Dancing into mercys arms
feel the pulling of the stars
freedom found at last

in the spa those petals laid
floating in the games we played
candle light her charms portrayed

soapy bubbles waters warm
pulses in electric storm
exhausted we embrace the dawn

as morning stars bleed to day
so good to be home again
wasted years fade away
..
.
she unfurls as she dances
we unfurl
silences sweet serenade
balanced into that patch of nothingness
that offers everything
including surrender
rich tropic air bathes us
lagoon beckons
filtered reflection of the milky way
tease us
smiling
..

There are some places you should never have gone
others you should never have left
...
Back with people who are part of nature
instead of an intrusion into it
mangoes rambutans lychees
minahasan food spitefully spicy
similar to Cairns
so different to the boring rest of Aus

took horses up the crater lake and waterfalls
nothing like kiwi horses
built for climbing not running free
been far too long [maybe 6 years]
sore thighs
but saved a long walk and what a glorious place to ride
exploding with life and vitality
..
.
found out how to stop smoking easily
bought a packet of white ox tobacco at duty free
in two days have had three smokes
foul stuff

restless rogue
it slumbers
sometimes
a whiff of sulphur
a tremble in the jungle
monkeys scream defiantly
birds circle once
life goes on
plantations reach ever higher
hot springs gurgle down the slopes

restless rogue
it slumbers
once
Krakatoa also slept

Illusions
In the river of lost loneliness
empty dreams lie as waste
mirage of faded loveliness
once so sweet now acrid taste

empty dreams lie as waste
joy is long forgotten
once so sweet now acrid taste
truly at the bottom

joy is long forgotten
no more that love of life
truly at the bottom
encouraging raw strife

no more that love of life
black water in a black lagoon
encouraging raw strife
empty as a pale void moon

black water in a black lagoon
blank the chords on music score
empty as a pale void moon
forever reaching out for more

blank the chords on music score
mirage of faded loveliness
forever reaching out for more
in the river of lost loneliness
..
.
Parking Lot

Jagged jerking neon barbs
remorseless hunting dogs of night
caged within themselves
grim custodians of light
flickering adventurers
gaudy whores of garish bars
Levantine the dancers
needles hunting out new scars
bottled Aphrodite
cellulite and painted hair
reflections on a tainted lot
leading to nowhere

its that strange hour
always either too late or too early
late BBQ last night
so different to indo
[very few drink up there]
headed home at 6am too late for fishing or sleeping
too early for early anything else

must head back north

Hounds of hell hunting hard
A change to rearrange
In the sibilance of silence
Nothing will be strange
So sinuously sinister
Slipping serpentine
Shedding skins
Of loathsome grins
Deep into your mind
Staccato shells
Like big brass bells
Slapping you as thunder
Whirling world
Whittles furls
Wandering in wonder
Ripping rending writhing wraiths
Rising in a band
Hounds of hell hunting hard
Death deals the devils hand

Hi Peter...........Nice Pic of You, Love You!!! hugs and kisses

Tongue Tasting

Buds flourishing nutrients
consuming bite 'n chew
swallowing tads 'n pieces
as the silky texture, exploding salivaritary
glands drenching pallete walls
sugaring the acidic breakdown
offering a throated gulp
tongue licking chops, arching side to side
lower lip bitten in soft tuck, lasting the lick
confiding to the eyes its devine bliss'd surprise
as We share another bite!!!

Fangs hang in split tongue, hiss'n a slither away, upon the Jungle'd floor, where the foliage is the best shade!!

Hi Ham

Photo change was as good as a holiday
Was meeting someone I hadnt seen in years so quick goatee worked a treat
Been playing with a gorgeous Jungle Python up here
All black and gold

Ever used a cast net?
Ive had one for years but I am definitely no expert
as the technique takes ages to learn
Then again I am very good at finding the prawns or bait fish
felt like a feed of prawns so shot out the river mouth last night
rains have washed the big prawns downstream
young kid out there watching my attempts and my glee when I land a near circle
I was getting stuffed so let him use my net
Awesome
about 10 years old and every cast perfect
great team work after that
we walked along till I felt prawns and hed cast perfectly
Dropped him off at his place with a feed and his dad came out
They had just arrived in Queensland and had never used a cast net before
But were planning on getting one so had been watching the casters closely

muttering under my breath I wandered back to my car

Yacking today about cyclone/hurricane/typhoon names
Have never heard of one called Gale

Mangos are nearly finished here
Time to head back to Bali

serenity beckons
brown body in blue water
such tranquility
temple on a mountaintop
chaos disappears

How good is this
This is when you know you are home

Everywhere else revolutions global warming etc etc
But not in Darwin

Headline on front page of paper with large photo of course

"My dog ate my Gstring"
Puts everything else into perspective

Trying out a final wish
Puppy tried a new dish
Perhaps it smelt of fish

Flew down into the gulf on a quick fishing trip
There is a big lizard there called Krys
Over 28ft long and over 2 tonne in weight
I have seen some pretty big crocs
20ft is plenty big enough no matter what size boat you are in
[We use 16ft dinghies mostly]
But 28ft is just mind blowing
Imagine a VW with teeth and a tail
Luckily; or perhaps not; this one is just a copy
Shot by a female school teacher called Krys
It would have been alive before white men landed in Australia

Crocs were protected from 1975 until now
In the 70’s they were very difficult to find and apart from the tame ones you seldom saw them
To aid in keeping numbers down croc farms could collect 35,000 eggs per year
Now they are actually daring to eat people on a fairly regular basis
All the ones that were encouraged as tourist attractions have grown bigger
Bigger and thus hungrier as the natural food grows less

They are nothing like your gators in the USA
You only see them if they want you to see them
Anything over 9ft can and will eat you

So to try to protect people they are planning on culling every croc within 50km of Darwin
[perhaps someone forgot that they can swim and walk if they want to]
Farms can now collect 50,000 eggs per year
And last
But never least
Sportsmen; mainly Yanks and Europeans; will be encouraged to come here to shoot a man eater as
it will only cost about $20,000.
Imagine the magnificent achievement it must be to do this

Find a very large croc slide
Tie a couple of dogs on the bank beside the slide
Sit back enjoying champagne with spotlights ready
For once in your life shoot accurately at 20 yards
Enjoy the plaudits of your friends

Now it would be different it the hunting was different

Using either scuba, or free diving [more points for free]
Using one single rubber spear gun
Enter the water and see who comes out
[I could respect that]

If you can; go to Israel
Totally bloody awesome
Here you have a tiny country designed by the Poms to be taken back by the Arabs and they yet it still lies there contentedly
Blew me to the weeds
Until you actually go up the Golan Heights you can sympathise
with Syria wanting them back
But they command Israel and no way would I consider giving them back

I’m a skinny little bugger who actually has negative buoyancy
Especially in fresh water
You cannot sink in the Dead Sea in fact its difficult to duck dive well
Warm but no real wind and you dry quickly
Which brings its own problems, as you look like a French pastry dusted in salt
I wonder if they simply double dipped to get Lots wife?

Got a rascal of a mate called George
Romany from Romania who lives part time in Melbourne
He’s been in Czechoslovakia for a while because the Romany are getting a real hard time by the revitalised neo nazi movement there
Anyway he dropped by Haifa and we cruised into Jerusalem to meet the Domari
Domari and Romany are basically the same people originally but the Domari stayed in the Middle East while the Romany wandered off North
He was devastated as they no longer speak Romany and are all Muslim so every question was replied with "we must ask the Iman", who wasn’t even Domari

Sea of Galilee was a pretty cool spot but just a lake surrounded by ruins and modern cities and the scent of dead tilapia

Haifa is mind blowing as you hear 100 languages every day
People living within range of Hezbollah rocket attack from Lebanon look forward to tomorrow eagerly and remember Latvia or Ukraine etc etc as they converse with you in what I can only describe as a form of pidgin English
Tel Aviv is just restaurant nightclub restaurant etc etc
Too new too modern
Then of course everywhere there are the hard faced children with machine pistols yet never threatening as they guard serenity

..
.
Desire has splintered
Cast on the floor with her towel
As she stands in mute challenge
Proudly defiant
Offering everything except herself
Tomorrows wet dream
Tonights little sister
We both know
And smile
Too proud to dress

Naked under covers
We hold hands in sleep
Clutching the residue of yesterday
..
.

I kept attempting to write about Israel

But its hard
How do write about the man with a machine pistol who
"Welcomes you to the holy land"?
How do you write about the most beautiful young people on Earth
Until you look into their eyes

Anyway its race day tommorrow
If you can head down to Dinah Beach
Best of the Breast is on
Awesome day
Great FUN yacht race
Sponsored by Dinah Beach, MediBank, and Dragons afloat,
All proceeds to breast cancer all FUN retained by sailors

Have a friend coming back up to finish off the gorges by canoe
but if we go with the rangers swimming is out
so we are slipping in quietly

curtained sunrise
earth colours erupting now
explode into view

Brought to you from Gorge 12 Lake Burley Griffen
[or possibly just a tad further north]

I thought we were in the middle of a recession/depression/slump type thing
Yet when I offered the opportunity to make $100 an hour with zero outlay I only had one person ask about it

How does that saying go
"You can lead fools to knowledge but you cant make them think"

Just had four days in Malaysia finding a yacht builder
All is good
KL is still exploding with life and vitality and has taken over as SE asias trading centre
Singapore dies more every visit
it used to be such a dynamic city
[just more proof that feudalism cannot work]

IRAN
WOW bloody marvelous
Huge demonstrations and the wealthy are being let away with organising them
The ramifications of this and the changes are going to be huge
Iran has more money to play with than most others
Personal wealth is huge It was only personal freedoms that were holding it back
In the next ten years look for a major player to emerge here

Isnt it strange
North Korea sets off a bomb and extended range missiles
Bits of typical rhetoric against this EG "We have the bomb but you are not allowed"
But Iran mentions bombs and invasion plans are laid

Perhaps it not strange
After all Korea has no oil

Cannot believe that Iran is still relatively peaceful
For thirty years we have been fed rubbish that Iran is behind the Taliban
[which it cannot be as they belong to totally different sects]
etc etc etc
Yet here we have had two weeks of virtually continual demonstrations and there are only about 40 dead
This is so important on the world stage as it shows how much disinformation we have been fed
Imagine what the death toll would be in USA England etc etc after two weeks of demos?

Been away doing reptile documentaries
Thank the gods that cobras strike so slowly
had a kid kissing a cobra so had to try it
wonderful to handle gently
but I will leave the tongue work to others in future
played quickly with the most dangerous snake on earth
strikes in .13 of a second
by the time you blink it has struck and is lying back having a smoke and asking if it was good for you to
absolutely awesome little critter

Hi Buttercup
Well I must write some poetry then

Mad cow disease
Bird flu
Swine flu
Is this a time of farmageddon???

One of my friends in China just helped burn some confiscated drugs
They had come into western China through Pakistan and Afghanistan
1.2 tonne opium and 4.8 tonne of cannabis
At the same time experts are saying the Taliban expects to make 62 million per annum through sale of heroin
I have no idea of the percentages but if we say opium/heroin is 10/1 they get 2000lb of heroin just from this one shipment
that has already more than 62million in one go

But it was always so simple to stop the drug trade
Automatic death sentence for trafficers plus
Buy the drugs from the farmers directly and destroy them

We spend billions every year fighting a problem we help perpetuate
When the Taliban was the mudgahadeen [sic] actually fighting the Russians
westerners helped them set up drug distribution networks as this was helping to fight communism
Now we complain about it?

Just been invited to Ontario to a reptile expo there

Late November in Ontario has to be cold
Not just a bit cool but bloody cold
How can I take my babies who are used to 30c temps to somewhere like that
So the San Diego expo sounds better

Had no idea Swedes would be into reptiles
best breeders in europe from all accounts
so Malmo, Hamburg, Vistula R [just to find a castle I dream of],
London, Brighton, San Diego and maybe Mississuaga if all my babies are gone

On their way to the cooking pots in China and Japan reptiles and mammals get gathered together throughout asia
I put the word out about a few endangered species I would pay for
I now own [cost $USD85] an african serval
So if anyone can figure out how to get this safely back to Africa let me know or even to a good nature park
shipment will be from Kuala Lumper

and warm beer

I’ve listened to lots of tales
But a man who knows of summer in winter
Is mine and forgive all of those who laugh at me

So I tried drinking champagne

I can’t hold back the bubbles
He laughs at my stomach aches
Wraps the blanket around me whispering
Now you know why we belong underground

Hi Always
You would love katherine gorge
get him to drag you up there
"and warm beer"
I thought a country girl would have understood that one
one small bottle of petrol and warm beer is freezing
much more efficient than trying to carry ice around

Getting ready to do a reptile show
but only have 2 snakes that are used to people so was busy playing with a couple to get them used to me
TV crew shows up when Ive got a lovely little eastern brown wrapped around my wrist warming up
These are not a "petting" snake but the reporter 'loves snakes' and wants to hold it until it gets one wiff of her deoderant and flattens out
Not quite so keen after that
