are you saying acadians are first nations peoples? lol. i hope not. because they most certainly were not. and if you really want to get technical, all of canada was in a away "stolen" from first nations peoples and indigenous peoples. now we try to put as many of them in jail as we can. nice hey? anyways. we didn't steal any fish. we merely fished. other people came and overfished. now nobody can fish. makes sense no? oh well, blame the canadian government i guess. i hope ontario made some gains from our national foreign policy, because we certainly did not.
atlantic canada may have been struggling in recent decades yes. sometimes people do leave to work to qualify for employment insurance. people have to support their families you know, something most newfoundlanders take seriously. but look at alberta. the richest province in canada. only one w/o a debt. they actually give money to their residents now i believe. but where were they in the 1960's? a have not province, they were, one of the poorest in canada if not the poorest. oil changed that. newfoundland will have its time in the sun, don't worry sponge. And the ironic thing is, you can say what you wish about newfoundlanders, and you will still be welcome here.

The man I am presentally dating is from St.Johns. Could someone explain to me what the difference between a Newfie Lady and any other lady from Canada might be? I am confussed? Perhaps there are things I could be doing differently that he would enjoy ? Thanks for your help and advice :) P.S. I do not want to sound un-educated but ...do the majority of people from Newfoundland enjoy drinking?..lol cause he sure does . | |

Living abroad may diminish this quality somewhat, though I find that even when slightly mainlandized, they still retain some vestige of that Newfoundland charm/sexiness. I found a huge difference between my female friends who were from Canada as opposed to my friends from Newfoundland. There's just something more grounded and not quite so flighty and flakey about the women from here. I think women from NL are more able to meet lifes' problems in a head on and practical manner. We KNOW what's really important in life, the ability to love and laugh. AND we know how to treat our men, how to appreciate the good things they do for us, and know to tell them when they're full of sh*t! | |

I love my mainland girl friends to death but for some reason myself and all the other newfie women I know have no problem calling bullsh*t when the see/hear it. Can't explain it, maybe it's just the way we're brought up.
And for some reason mainland guys are right intriged by us, like the expect us to have a third breast or we're something exotic they gotta try. Always found that really odd but it also always worked to my advantage too...  | |

It indicates a lack of concern about health and appearance, generally. Like the old saying goes, "water seeks it's own level" (??). Basically, most skinny individuals are going to be more likely to want a person physically similar to themselves. Simple laws of attraction.
P.S. Plus some of us are deftly afraid of having our hips crushed during the missionary sex. lol | |
