Forums, people, parties, discussions, all of it doesn't come close to what lava offers....and it is free! I have met people here who i know i will be friends with for a long time to come. ie: when i put in male, brantford and an age range i should get results from brantford only.
currently this is not the case - i'd get a mixed bag of tri-cities, simcoe, burford, hamilton, london etc. etc. | |

And hey, I have a boyfriend now and I met him thanks to POF so I recommend POF to any single person I know | |

And although I got smiles and messages on lava. I have had far more conversations on this site! Actually if I get any messages or mail on lava then I tell the guys about this site to save them the grief of paying to talk to me or anyone else for that matter! Someone once asked me if I worked for Plenty of Fish because I was telling him of all the perks!
I can talk forever on this site!! I have met the coolest boys and girls ever!

They have a chatroom, which I wish this place did.....BUT...the problem with that site is now you have to pay for everything BUT the chat. I mentioned that POF had a cam option as well and I was banned for 12 hours. I've been there for a very long time. No where in it's "rules" or "policies" does it say that you can't discuss other sites, but it does state that if you are speaking basically in an unruly manner, you will be warned, after 3 warnings, you will then be suspended for 12 hours or banned from the site.
Because of this I do not go there hardly at all any more. I've also recruited some of them to this site...*S*
POF is a much better site by far! | |

Posted: 2/20/2006 6:31:32 PM | Both sites have there pros and cons. The biggest pros for Plenty of Fish is that it's free and it has the forums. I also like that you can post more than one picture unlike Lava that has a backstage pass which you have to use credits to get granted access to those pictures.
However the layout for Lava I find to be better. There search engine is accurate and you can search any distance wether it's 5 miles or 150 miles. I also enjoy the smile feature. Why should I waist alot of time writing an email to someone if it's just going to be deleted. Atleast with the smile feature you know there is some attraction to begin with.
This site just needs a better search engine and the ability to expresses an interest without having to write an email. | |

One thing is for sure: people on Lavalife have to, at the very least, be in a position to buy credits which means they can afford to do so (ie are financially stable). That, and Lava's search engine feature rocks. PoF has its own interesting features including: Forums, icons, social events and free *everything*. There's more 'weeding out' with PoF but at least the time and effort you spend is *free*. | |
