After finding this information out I will never buy credits from Lavalife again and I recomend the men who may use Lavalife to complain.
I've already sent a "suggestion" email to Lavalife (from the help menu) suggesting a monthly unlimited plan for men or lower the credits from 6 -3 per message.
In the end though, i'm glad SOME site like POV aren't interested in playing on peoples emotions. Good job to POV for that. | |

Well I read your post and just had to have a look at Lava and see (being a chick). I haven't bought credits in a long time and have 5 sitting there.. and they will sit forever... but I digress.
I didn't see anywhere where it offered me as a woman unlimited access for a price. Just the usual option to purchae 50, 100 or 200 credits. Not that I'd sign up anyway I know many men for a while including a friend of mine thought women could use Lava for free. I assured him that has never been the case. | |

This is a free site , sooo you have to be tres careful here there are lots of married, living with other people, kinda situations. On any dating site today because society has just a tad of problems I think most places are more of a chat line then anything else. I have an optomistic side also , that there have to be some real, sincere people on dating sites also, as I am one of them.  | |

I smiled at a girl because i liked her smile but I knew she was too young for me. She wrote me back and I replied appologizing for her wasting credits on me.
She replied back saying that she has unlimted credits. She subscribes for 29.99 a month.
To see if that was really the case I created a dummy account as a female. That account, which has no info so people won't message me and i'll delete it shortly, has the subscription option and not credits. Options are 29.99 1 month or 56.97 for 3 months [18.99 per month] | |

Interesting thing is, they don't ACTUALLY smile at you. COMPLETLY fake.
When you click on a profile that has smiled at you, the page shows what smiles they sent. These false ones don't have anything, dead give away that it's fake.
Lavalife is trying to fool me into buying more credits even though I absolutly refuse to fall for this false crap again from them.
So a warning should people use Lavalife. If someone smiles and their profile doesn't tell you what the smile is, it's a fake. Don't be fooled. Stick with POV. | |

Match.com too many people looking for a green card.. plus spam junk mail. The site will go down and you lose all your mail and settings. All of sudden a lady you have sent a note to will register as someone you haven't. Tough to keep track and dont want to be a stalker and keep sending intro letters
POF best free site, great forums. But for dating it has more people without a job looking for a free ride, or married people looking for a free fling
I would say the best site in canada, that costs money, is date.ca actually asks people to enter their weight.. Instead of that mysterious Average which appears for ladies on other sites to be, everyone from size 10 - size 30.. mainly the later | |

I kind of like Lava. Yes, it costs money. No, there aren't nearly as many users. But - perhaps for those very reasons - I've been far more successful there than on POF. I get more first contacts and more responses there, and those responses tend to be more than one sentence long. And let me qualify - this is with the same profile and pic that I use here!
The best thing about POF is the forums (that I've just discovered). This seems to be where everyone hangs out! | |

So if the site went free would everyone bash the site as much? I personally love this site but I also like the forums and option that I don't see over there... But I also like the option that if a man is really interested in me he will contact me over there and I have to agree I have been on some great dates from the other site... Maybe I have just been lucky.... I really don't think that I would put down either site some people choose to pay because it does weed out some bad apples but not all... And this site well I have made so many good friends on here but never anyone that I have dated...
There are also other free dating sites in Ontario that I see alot of people on from here that at one point where free but then started charging and now are back to free because people lost interest... Show the mighty dollar and everyone runs lol...
So the same would happen to this site if they started charging any kind of membership fee then people would bash it and leave it until the next person came along and made a free site....
Sad really good business is that we should never bash the competition but always strive to be better then it!  | |

Once my credits were gone I started getting false messages and smiles.
See the thing is, for me anyway, is that I HAVE paid multiple time on LavaLife and it's been a waste of money. I'm not bashing Lavalife because I have to pay, i'm bashing them because they send out phishing smiles and emails to lure people into buying credits.
They scam people like the other pay sites do which is why i'm complaining.
Ever since I sent the nasty message to Lavalife regarding my theory of the phishing smiles and messages I don't get them anymore.
I always check the smiles to see if they are legit people or not. (as far as I know anyway)
When someone sends a smile without ANY smile information it's usually a phishing smile. If POV became a pay site and didn't use scams like phishing and the money wasn't a waste i'd support it.
Again, it's not because someone has to pay, it's because i've seen how they scam people into paying. | |

The one date I had was ok but how kind was is it for him to keep repeating the cost of the meal? And not to mention there were a few guys who kept trying to talk to me, this is after I politely told them we were not a good match. | |

When lava life first started up women joined for free and could email anyone they wanted and as many emails as the women wanted to send. But men had to pay to read and to reply to any email or to any woman on lava life!
I never joined as I checked them out first then contacted thier help contact department and sucked them in to telling me about how it works !LOL
Sure pof is free and yes still same ol gammers even on here too!
How many on here are for real who knows .
Me personally I have found not many on here are who they say they are let alone being close to what thie profile states about them !LOL
So take singles sites for what ever you decide they are and good luck! | |
