| Lavalife. Posted: 7/28/2009 10:59:57 PM | | i don't use lavalife or visit this site as much but i think if you pay you would use it more often and chances are you're not someone go there just to poke around where as this site you might visit once in a blue moon so how many of the users are even active? | |

| Lavalife. Posted: 7/29/2009 6:11:41 PM | I just tried lavalife. But there's WAYYYY too many fake accounts there. I like the search engine better than POF, but the quality of people here feels better. More down to earth so to speak.
Plus, on lavalife, all I get is spammed by these "hot" girls that strike up a VERY short conversation then suddenly tries to sucker invite you into seeing her webcam site and try to get your credit card. What a b!tch. I'd avoid that site unless you're looking for intimate encounters.

| Lavalife. Posted: 7/29/2009 7:03:06 PM | | Wow, I didn't know Lavalife had gotten that bad. Guess I shouldn't complain. | |
|
| Lavalife. Posted: 7/29/2009 8:30:46 PM | yeah they gave me one of their "free" memberships via email, of course after filling everything out and posting pics they want my credit card etc(f**k that). I was given the trial membership
from there they send me a letter saying my pics werent approved because of illegal activity, which is a joke because they are pretty much the same pics I have on there. So I fired them a letter saying I don't need them as they sent me the offer but I do demand an apology as nothing was illegal or funny about my pics
anyways between the stupid fake scam chicks from other countries spamming the chat and all this other monkey business I really don't care for them.
That spamming crap on the chat is really annoying, I told them i was going to report them and i told them to pass it on to thier friends

| Lavalife. Posted: 8/1/2009 4:07:24 PM | I find there many women on both sites so obviously hard to say that one cleintele is better than the other. Oc course if people have to pay money and get the same lack of response they will always bash the paying site over the other. I personally like both as my purpose is to actually meet people not sing praises of one over the other. One thing I have seen looking through many posts in the forums here is that there are quite a few people that have been on since 2005 some earlier (not meant as a slight to anyone just an observation). Good thing it is free since it's taking that long to meet someone, maybe you should start thinking about branching out to other sites also. There's good and bad on any site just like the real world. | |
|
| Lavalife. Posted: 8/1/2009 4:10:23 PM | | One thing I have noted on Lavalife though is that there is something akin to a BOT to make one use credits. Whether this is their doing or not who knows. But it's not that hard to figure out, and blank smiles do not mean fake smiles , hard to say anything with a smile such as you like the fact they are down to earth etc if the person hasn't filled out a profile yet or provide a pic. | |

| Lavalife. Posted: 8/1/2009 6:21:31 PM | Both Lavalife and eharmony are absolutely horrible and should be avoided at all costs. !!!! I was on L-life for a while but they kept sending me emails saing ______ so and so wants to meet you ! then when I log in I see that the woman is from another country ! AND I Specificaly set my my mail settings to (within 100 miles) Eharmony? Their ridiculously long "qustionaire" was so specific and so precise that You only end up with a few women in your area that -You are allowed to contact !and VIce versa ! Save Your money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
POF is SUPERIOR in all aspects.

| Lavalife. Posted: 8/1/2009 8:22:20 PM | Have you noticed the pay sites have the same people as this free site? So why pay? As for the comment about some of us that have been on this site for a few years....has it occurred to you that MAYBE, we've had relationships in those years, didn't bother coming on to PoF while in the relationship and for whatever reason, the relationship didn't work...we returned to our old profiles? Just a thought. *grins* | |
|
| Lavalife. Posted: 8/1/2009 8:39:14 PM | | And how long is an appropriate time to keep that profile in case it doesn't work out though ? You said "relationship during those years" , that implies a serious relationship not just serial dating. i would think that if I felt the need to keep it there in case, that i am expecting it to fail from the start so why waste my time in the relationship. I am not slamming this site or you personally lol. I moved to the Barrie area from Petawawa in 2005, met someone on POF prior to coming here, met when I did and we hit it off, ended last December unfortunately. But if one has been seeing the same person for a few months you would think that a profile is no longer needed. Just a thought lol. ;) | |
|
| Lavalife. Posted: 8/1/2009 8:40:59 PM | | And in some cases there are different people on the pay sites. But the area one lives in is only so big and it is bound to overlap in many cases, so why are the ones also on the pay sites then? Sort of like advertising maximize exposure , better bottom line hopefully. | |

| Lavalife. Posted: 8/2/2009 9:13:38 AM | | I think because pof is free it may attract a few more nuts | |
|
| Lavalife. Posted: 8/2/2009 2:02:33 PM | | Not sure about nuts but makes it easier for married people to have profiles with no electronic payment trails to leave for the spouse to find lol. That or it can attract people that are less than serious about finding a relationship as they have no monetary investment in it. Not sure what the yellow dot thingy is on here signifies really but is it a pay item? Or should I take someone more serious just because they have a yellow dot. Hmmm. End story is there's good and bad on both so why limit oneself to one forum only if you are that serious about getting off of the sites completely and in a real relationship? | |
