| Why do Christians feel the need to press their religous belief's on people? Posted: 7/10/2008 2:42:27 PM | Since the OP disapeared from this 3 1/2 year old thread and I'm not going to read the 75 pages I'll just direct this to the original post.
look at gay marriage, why should there a law for that There shouldn't.
And what about abortion the Christians don't believe in it so it should be a law? No.
Why can't it be live and let live. It is. It's called free will and written in the Bible.

I hope you won't take this the wrong way, but if the OP of the original thread is gone and it's an obviously resurrected subject heading, don't you think it behooves you to look at the last few responses to see why the subject is alive again? Perhaps it's gone beyond it's original question, perhaps it hasn't. All I'm saying is that you're addressing questions from the first post that for all you know were already thoroughly answered and deeper questions are now being addressed.
Unfortunately, that's not the case (and I'm not talking about your post); this thread actually does seem to be suffering from some sort of inertia. It's not going to stop unless someone stops it (HINT).
Oh!!!!! Good point on the 'free will' thing. I'm always trying to get people to understand that concept myself. People just don't get it.

| Why do Christians feel the need to press their religous belief's on people? Posted: 7/11/2008 8:10:20 AM | they believe that everyone that isn't a Christian is wrong, flawed in the way they live their lives. That's the answer right there. They only respect themselves and devalue everyone else
**They believe the only way to salvation is though Christ for Christ said it.
**They know they are flawed. In fact they mess up like everyone else....they struggle like everyone else. The difference is that they are saved and God is working on their lives.
They only respect themselves and devalue everyone else You must have met some bad people or people who still need teaching. I have not seen this. I see love and compassionate prayer for all.
Respect for others comes from who you are, not what you do.

| Why do Christians feel the need to press their religous belief's on people? Posted: 11/10/2008 3:43:10 AM | Many Christians believe that you will go to hell if you don't believe their way. And are taught that they are responsible to witness to non-believers. They really want to help you, as they see that they are doing. I personally believe that unless someone is already thinking about joining the church, witnessing won't do any good. I choose to witness by how I live. I don't shove my beliefs into peoples faces, I know how annoying it can be. I don't believe that just because you don't worship the same god you will go to hell. I've met many athiests and people from other religions that I find stand a better chance at eternal life than many Christians. As for gay marriage and abortion, I do have the standard Christian ideas about them. So I have the same problem with someone trying to change my mind. I say, treat others good, and live your life morally (your morals). Don't just do no harm, but try to make things better, and all will be good. Not to go all hippy on you, but love and peace is what it's all about,... man. | |
