Posted: 8/15/2005 9:14:54 AM | If there is only a single person being "host", it is kind of hard to expect them to be host on multiple days of the week and locations. It's a lot easier to have different days of the week and locations for this sort of thing, if there are multiple people interested in being host (I suspect host is a volunteer position).
As far as Bo Didly's/Millwoods goes, it is convenient for people who are in the SW corner of Edmonton. But, metro-Edmonton (as defined by Statistics Canada) is a rather large area, and includes: Alexander, Beaumont, Betula Beach, Bon Accord, Bruderheim, Calmar, Devon, Fort Saskatchewan, Gibbons, Golden Days, Itaska Beach, Kapasiwin, Lakeview, Leduc, Leduc County, Legal, Morinville, New Sarepta, Parkland County, Point Alison, Redwater, Seba Beach, Spring Lake, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Stony Plain, Strathcona County, Sturgeon County, Sundance Beach, Thorsby, Wabamun, Warburg. There are lots of locations in that list for which Millwoods is not the best place to go to. So, moving it around might be a good idea. Besides, some people might be bussing it, or taking a cab.
I think if you are going to do something on a regular basis (weekly, biweekly, monthly, ...?) and you have enough hosts willing to do it, varying both the day of week and location is a good thing to do.
Personally, Friday's don't work except in the break between indoor and outdoor soccer seasons. Location is of lesser importance to me.
But, I wish all a good time on the upcoming Friday night get together.

There are some really nice places on Whyte ave I am not sure but I will check while I am down at the fringe... Everyone should come down and join me watch a show..... or just hang out..

Posted: 8/16/2005 6:42:15 PM | Hey everyone! I am really looking forward to attending this meet and greet on friday. I was disappointed that I missed the last one on August 10th but really want to make it to this one. Looking forward to meeting some new people and having a good time.
Another suggestion for a venue could be Over time in the south (whitemud crossing) i know this is still south for a lot of people. But on firday nights they have $2 carona's from 6-10 you can order them by the bucket and they last you call night. Just another idea. But cudos to ~shells~ for planning all these events. Big high five to you girl!!!!

Posted: 8/17/2005 9:35:01 PM | I am going to be out of town this Friday but would really like to attend one of these POF meet and greets. I live in downtown edmonton and would love to see the next meet and greet in the downtown core or even Whyte ave.
Some great places to have a good time in the downtown area are Overtime & Ceili's. Maybe we could set one up for one of these places for the following week.
