Now you're coming back with three paragraphs of Mr. Defensive. Just take everything we say with a grain of salt and remember it's a dating profile, not an essay about your life. You learn things about a person on the date, you don't need to share EVERYTHING from the beginning. And you're still too negative, in your profile and in your answers. And wow, the line about "abusers are almost always the ones who put up the perfect picture...". That was a little uncalled for, I believe. You're being completely irrational, judgemental and uh oh here's that word again...NEGATIVE (well that was more bitter really)...with that comment. Abusers can hide anywhere, but to say what you did is like saying, "If you e-mail someone who looks good, you're asking to get hit." I mean, what's that about?? ALL guys I've dated have said things I want to hear. None of them hit me. Huge generalization. Don't be bitter, it's just not attractive. | |

I have been on here now for about 6 months and so far have not encountered any Phoenix women that are "pissed".
I have encountered some that were offended by idiots that approach them bluntly with sex talk or insulting in one way or another but as I dont do that I have never had any negative responses.
I have had' women not reply, but I dont think that is "pissed" I simply see that they are not interested & go on my way.
Point of view and personality probably have allot to do with this perception.

They come on to me, even after I am quite blunt about sayin they are not my type and could they please take their attitude elsewhere. I don't get why a lot of men I have come across have this need to come across like that with women. I mean, we are NOT indebted to you, we are ladies, not some streetwalker you are lookin to pick up, so why you can't talk to us as if we are equals- human beings with brains and a personality to get to know, is BEYOND me lol.
So maybe I come off as mean when I turn down some guy trying to get me to come home with him for the night when I haven't even had a conversation with him and he doesnt even know my name. Pardon me for being honest about my disgust regarding the situation.\\

I don't know how it is in Phoenix, Mesa etc but here in Tucson...Bloody Hell I'd love to meet JUST ONE man who does what he says he'll do...show up for a date after he's asked me to arrange one, and let me tell you...this was going to be one great afternoon. Not ask me to take my top off after two minutes when I finally agree to a webcam meeting...Go to the effort of asking me if I'd like at least a glass of water when I meet him at his house for a first meeting, (okay that was my fault. I must have been out of my mind to do that one), oh yeah...and still has all his teeth, gainfully employed...you know, the normal stuff.
I'm a nice person. I'm a GOOD person. I really don't get this. But I'm also a hopeful romantic. I know, for certain that somewhere out there is a man who will respect me, appreciate me and finally "get" me...as I will him.
But to say I'm pissed...lol, I SHOULD be...but it's not my style...just haven't found my guy yet. | |

Well I arrived Arizona a happy country girl, but now that I've been here a year I might just fall into the pissed off catagory. I've met a handful of men off this site and a few out and about since I've arrived. Theres alot to be said about small towns. I've found that most men are just plain crude with no class. They were either not raised right or they have forgotten everything they were taught. It starts with no shower, not shaven, bad breath, dirty clothes etc etc---Then the ones you meet downtown after they have offered to buy you a drink - can't keep their hands off you. I think men like the bad girls, there is one around every corner in phoenix. They don't really want to go to alot of effort. So for me single works, I'll never settle for less. | |

I found that out while sitting in a rocking chair, in front of a retirees meet market one warm Friday afternoon. The misters kept that porch surprisingly comfortable, but the trouble with that peppermint stick is, the more I licked, the less of an appetite I had. Of course that may have had more to do with the reason I was waiting than anything else...
You're right about the sense of humor Hispanics are known for, although mine seemed to dissipate as I sat there. We're also usually known for usually being good at our word:
..."you don't have to worry about me being a dependable person. i will show up. i would never make an appointment with anyone and stand them up. that's not the way i am with people. if i don't show up, get worried, 'cause it means something bad has happened to me!"
Maybe something bad did happen to you. Its a shame I'll never know. Just like you may now never know any more about me, including all the things I have previously written, tho' only a few of my works have been published. I will tell you, I'm halfway finished with my first novel, "Diamond Minor". The parent company of Dell has agreed to publish it and it should be on the shelves by next May. I believe my curiosity about you was only natural and innocent. I love painting pictures with words, based on real life.
I really hope you one day find what you're looking for. I also hope that in that search, you're not so quick to assume the worst in people.

Posted: 8/28/2008 2:13:53 PM | I moved here from NYC 5 years ago.At first people were worried because I was a "New Yorker".
It's definitely a different social climate compared to what I'm used to.
I think some of it depends on where in Az.you live.
When I first came here,I lived in East Mesa.
I found in general I was living amongst The Children Of The Corn.
I'm very glad I moved to Downtown Phoenix.There seems to be a little more diversity than out east and people seem to be willing to be more social.
At very least I don't get glared at like I ate someone's dog.
That kind of thing pisses me off.
Does it count that I get pissed off because I'm not originally from here?
