Depends on the generation and how strong their cultural identity. The first, second generation in North America and/or strong family ties will lean toward people of their own culture.

hate to break it to you that you are being "judged" or "sized up" by every woman - regardless of race. it is just the way we are - "analyzers" (my term for it). we like data and we like to process it...ha,ha...  k... i can't spk for the entire female pop but feel for the majority it is true.
for me, i adjust my standards so to speak depending on who i am with. women can't be the only ones doing it which why we have the word - generalizations or prejudices (pre-determined expectations). however my "foundation" is like a set a building blocks. i have ideas but everyone pretty much starts w/ one block and i add blocks as i get to know the person. some guys never made it past the first block confirming my theories about them.
yeah - i agree that asian women expect a code a behavior from asian men and the same goes for white men, etc. i know i do. hell i even break it down to geographical sociocultural ties. sad but true...he,he  now are you scared? | |

don't know how to put it any clearer. just noticed that not alot of asian males seem to be interested in dating or pursuing not 100% asian females (in my case, black chinese females). sure i had my own thoughts about it but wanted to get a different perspective. hell, that's what threads are for

Posted: 8/21/2005 2:44:03 PM | You know what I think? It's that Asian males have been through a lot of women and they expect a woman to be totally opposite to what they have already experienced...
So Asian men expect asian women to be more traditional and less western. But I feel that most of the Asian girls that live here or that have migrated are completely different/Changed (Westernised).
EX: Smoking, Drinking, the clothes they wear and things like that.
So maybe that could be a reason for Asian males not wanting or trying to hook up with Asian males... | |

I don't personally think that makes any sense, Asian women are bueatiful and have very desirable features. As well Asian men have a lot of desirable features physically and emotionally. We age incredibly well, while a lot of my own white friends are growing a beer belly and balding. I've never looked better. Emotionally, we are secure and for the most part financially stable. Don't get me wrong I'm not against inter racial dating, I've dated every race there is. What bothers me is a lot of Asians, including myself have been white washed so badly we discredit our own race which is sad. I'm proud that I'm Asian. I wouldn't have it anyother way. We're primates who probably all came from Africa and migrated out to different parts of the world. We may have more common genetic characteristics with certain groups... and these similarities were bred into all of us during the last few thousand years or so, when certain powerful males hoarded all the women to themselves and enslaved weaker males in the society. For instance, about 600 million inhabitants of Asia are said to be descendants of Genghis Khan.... but if you think we're not ALL related to each other over these millions of years of cohabitation, then you must think a stork brought you or something.

I don't generally date Asian women, because I like noses. I had no idea about this nose thing until one time I was rating people on Hot or Not, and noticed everytime somebody had a big straight nose I was more attracted than the tiny flatter noses, that most Asian women have.
Crazy? Most guys I know are about breasts, legs, what have you. Why I like noses I don't know. Really I don't.

Posted: 5/31/2006 7:33:32 PM | I think part of the reason is that Asians (while frequently lumped into one small demographic group in the US and Canada) are really part of a larger more diverse cultural groupings that come basically from the Far East.
You can't, for example, lump culturally the French, Brits, and Germans into a group Europeans and wonder why more French don't marry Germans or Brits. There are language, religious, and cultural barriers. And believe it or not barriers based on history (usually wars).
The same can be said for the Far East. I'm sure the Japanese are very popular (okay, not very, due to historical reasons) in China, Korea or the Phillipines. Language, religion, and culture (over there) have a lot more differences than Europeans. So, in short, individual cultural differences are significant, but grouping all Asians together, tends to mask this fact.
So your theory about pureblood is not so bad. I'm sure many traditional Asian moms frown upon having mixed blood daughter in laws, nobody listens to their moms anymore, not even Asian dudes. Still we all get our cultural identity from our parents, so a Chinese guy would have a strong cultural identity where you would have a split identity (your slang and food preferences are probably a little different). And we all know dating has little to do with talking or dining (I kid of course).
In fact your whole list is pretty insightful. 5 and 6 are about class issues and less meaning in a cultural perspective. Although one thing you can do lumping all Asians together is placing a high value on success. 7 is understandable also since most Asian women are petite framed. I wouldn't worry about 8 too much, because, well, find me a woman who isn't. 
One last idea for you in this long boring post. Being a minority culture, there is a great deal of pressure to assimilate. The stronger your culture the further you have to go, say you are first or second generation. Its probably easier to marry into the same culture and push you, your spouse, and kids in the same direction. Or marry into the mainstream culture like your mom did.
Even with all these theories and broad generalizations, you are still an individual with your unique charms and attractions, and you'll find your hot Asian guy to date...
Maybe not in Tampa...

I notice that white/asian mixes tend to be very attractive. Not all, but many.
I notice that non white/asian mixes tend to be more of a crapshoot for looks than the white/asian combination.

Generalizing like that is sickening. You might as well ask "why do all white people hate black people" or "why do all women with red hair only like guys with beards?"
Anyone seriously trying to make sense of a such an ignorant question needs to seriously grow up and stop pointing the finger at an entire race. If you've never considerded yourself a racist, congratulations, you've just joined the club.
My guess is the OP had a couple of asian guys snub her so now she blames all asian men.
Get over it, move on.
