Don't expect to receive something from others that you yourself can not give. These women you are so attracted to work hard on their bodies and don't want a man who is morbidly obese. If you are not attracted to fat people then why should they be?

Look, everyone has his or her own ideas about what they want/don't want in a partner.

I won't date someone who does drugs. Does that make me a jerk? It’s not part of my lifestyle. I won't get in a car with someone who's drunk (I don't care how "hot" he is) It's just common sense and excessive drinking is not part of my life. I am generally heath conscious, although I've been know to eat cheesecake for dinner, order the side of fries and on occasion toss down a Big Mac, I just know that it's not healthy and I have to pay the piper to make up for it. Thing is, I know when to pull my hand away from the cookie jar.

That being said, Of course I would be looking for someone like-minded who is cognizant of their health and who knows and is concerned with the fact that excess weight predisposes one to a number of health risks such as heart attacks, diabetes, and some cancers.

As I get older, it takes more effort to maintain a "healthy" weight. I can't trade in my body for a "newer, sleeker" model. So I do the best with what I have. And if that means getting up at the crack of dawn or earlier to hit the gym, that is my choice, my personal preference based on what is important for me. Not so remarkably, this lifestyle that I've chosen has enabled me to look about 8 to 10 years younger than I am. Also, in "Real Age" surveys, my choices have also helped me be physically much younger than my chronological age. For me it’s a health issue - plain and simple.

On the flip side, because I do not carry around excess weight, and have not been surgically altered, so I do not look like Pam Anderson. So are guys who aren’t interested in me because of that jerks or worse? One can only speculate. I just figure they are obviously not meant for me. Jerks come in all shapes, sizes and is not gender specific.

Question is… outside of being "a nice guy", are you the best you can be? Maybe it's not the weight, but your own attitude about it.

By the way, when I married my now ex-husband, he was a good 50 to 75 pounds over weight. That didn't matter, it was his attitude, not his weight that took its toll.
