I just think if you are in your 40s or 50s and you still "hunt" after girls who are 18 years old. I think you're a pervert and a pedophile. Yes, the girl is of legal age.. but damn, 18 is just too close to 17 and I dont think an 18 girl is at the same mature level as a 40 year old or 50 year old. Girls mature faster indeed, but damn.. shes still a teenager. As far as any girl in her 20s I think its okay just as long as this older guy is not "hunting" for younger women for sexual desires.

I like older guys.. they're cool and great to talk to and hang out with, but to be honest with you. I'm 23.. I am NOT trying to get married to a 45 year old and have children by him. I would prefer someone my own age or up to 31. Because as this 45 year old ages.. I'm still going to be a young queen and looking for things at this point in my life he will not be able to give.. and the last reason is.. I dont want to be with someone that is old enough to be my father. That will not do. And I dont think any man should be with a woman that is old enough to be his daughter.

Having just turned 30 this past summer, I'll voice my opinion. It's not a question of age (as long as it's legal), it's a question of compatability. If you're 50 and you find a 20 year old and you get along well (ie more than sex .. conversation, company, etc) then age shouldn't matter. I would think that most people here on this site have experienced issues finding their "soulmate" so our opinions might be a bit skewed compared to those who had it easier, but who knows.

I agree wholeheartedly! But....always a but!....I also think that in the majority of situations when someone in their 40's and up, finds themselves consistently being "compatible" with 18 to 20-something year olds...then there is something missing from that person, emotionally and maturity wise. No offense, and I DID state MOST situations....so leave me to my opinion, please! LOL

Seriously...having "been there, done it" before...I can completely understand the PHYSICAL aspect of it...BEING attracted to some young, hot, yummiclicious! Hell! Yesterday I was drooling over a very studly tow truck driver I hired...and OMG...turns out he was 20! Eeek! (I woulda thunk him at at least 26! LMAO) And he and I even shared some good conversation during the ride...he could most definitely keep his end of the convo up....but...we were talking about cars, his choice of career, where he went to school (hey...itsa St. Louis thing!) and crap like such.

I guess part of the reason I feel so strongly against such, is partly because I AM a parent of 20-somethings. I DEFINITELY would NOT be thrilled if my 21 year old daughter started dating a 40 year old man....she would not...she says ICK! LOL And I would not like if my 26 year old son dated a 40 year old!

Ok, I stated my case a few posts up as well as a few other threads and I will respect your opinion...I just want to present this concept: If that person in their 40's finds themselves consistently being more compatible with college age people, and therefore there is something missing...what should that older person do?

PS: Let me reiterate that I am not exclusive; I would gladly date a much older woman if there was mutual physical attraction as well as good chemistry...BOTH must be present. Personally the "older women" I prefer would be the more free spirited fun goofy types, with long hair...sorry but it's a turn off for me personally when women cut their hair short when they get older. Yes I realize that it's easaier to manage when shorter, I just much prefer how it looks, when it's long...for example, middle aged long haired women at rock concerts seem really appealing to me, but unfortunately I find they are usually married.

PPS: By "date" I mean "friends with benefits"...I'm still uncomfortable with emotionally close relationships, REGARDLESS of age. I'm more comfortable with an active social life with more casual sexuality along the way.

Wow...didn't realize that there was such a huge gap out there on the way that people go with this one....
I prefer older guys...have never really dated guys my own age....having said that....my last relationship was with a man 13 years my senior....his daughter didn't like it at all and set out on a mission to split us up.....have I given up on guys my own age? No...if I could find one with the same maturity level that I find attractive-I'd give him a shot....
On the flip side....I was at the gas station the other day-dressed up for a date and some kid whistled at me....had to be in his 20's....no, I didn't rush over and give him my number-but it was quite flattering.....
I still got it....

No apology neccessary! *I* like long hair better as well...on women! LOL Cutting my own, was pretty traumatic for me! LOL

So what do they do? Hmmm....I would say explore WHY they are not emotionally or maturity inclined to their own peer level? I mean, some people are just going to be big kids all their lives....some are holding onto their youth for fear of aging, or fear of death...some are psychological based...I am sure there are a million reasons! LOL

Either keep on, keeping on and not give a rat's ass what others around you think...or find out the WHO, WHAT, WHY of it all?

Off topic, but just saying...HarleyKat, you have one of the coolest worded personal ads I've ever seen...you'd be someone who I think would be really cool to hang out with, unfortunately we are too far apart and are looking for different things. But you represent the general type of attitude/personality in a woman that I find quite appealing! I find most people here in NJ to be kindof boring for me personally...yes there are exceptions, and I'm using this site as one of the ways I'm hoping to meet new interesting people in my area.

I realy don't want to date younger women, But i seem to have to. I am an endurance athlete and can't find a woman my age who would want to, or can handle riding all day or camping or bycycling or training or all my activities, so I date younger !
It is what it is , I guess !!

Imagine an ageless society where we couldnt pigeon hole people just because of their age. Ya, I would like that better. Good grief, dont people have enough to judge each other about. As long as its legal, I say, mind your own business. :)

An ageless society? But wouldn't that create problems with the underage...or would they not "start to be ageless" until they were 18?

Seriously, I see no problem with it for others...it is just not for me. But when it is CONSISTENT for someone...then I think it is more unnatural...than if they "just happened to mesh" with someone a LOT younger. Fortunately, I do mind my own business. LOL It's called a discussion, however.

bout2giveup has that one right? As long as two people are consenting adults what does age have to do with it? Might as well ask what shape are clouds? Generally speaking a woman who is younger feels more secure with an older man-as well as greatful for the benefit of experience!

I like to stick about 5 years +/- my own age. If you really fall for someone that's legal, then it happens, but if you're talking about a 'target age' try to keep your future in mind if you're wanting longer term. If the age difference is too great, it can cause issues when priorities change, retirement comes about, one of you goes through a mid-life crisis/self-reflection phase, etc.

In all reality, though, a large age difference doesn't mean it can't work. The terms 'old soul' and 'young at heart' were created for a reason.

Since I have separated I have dated women from 23 - 45
Latest is 45 (looks 35, and acts 65)

The one before was 32 (we have had an on again off again for 2 years, very immature and self centered)

There has been one 28, 35 and 39 that I have dated and didn't get along with for one reason or another but remain friends.

Which brings me to the 23 year old( very mature and one of the most unselfish people I have met. Truly beautiful inside and out).

My point is, levels of maturity and life experiences don't come with any particular age limit. If you connect for the right reasons.......Go for it!

I'm finally learning to just ask then out and let the chips fall where they may. Being 43, I prefer over 30 women, but will go lower in special circumstances. People are people, so I just look for someone I am attracted to and get along with. Simple? You'd think...

I dated a woman that was nineteen with a two year old child

I was thirty three had she not been a player

and really wanted to have one man for life more children

I would have married her

but the world is screwed up and feminism has destroyed woman

funny fact though she said all the young men she had slept with were five minute men
she was never with anyone that wanted sex for five hours till she met me

anyways I am fourty two now and THERE JUST IS NO WOMAN that want a man for marriage and love and passion and sex and family anymore

there are to many woman riding the sybian and having their girlfriends give them oral sex
what the hell would they want a man for?

.. personally Im not into younger women..
there's a roof..
the "remember" this or that.. not possible...
or you be talking for an hour about stuff from your youth .. point lost..

older women well.. let's say I always have the feeling it's kind of a play-thing deal..

idk...

I guess for older or younger there's the rule:
"only if she's rawlly hot"
