Posted: 11/19/2008 5:14:48 PM | well I'm 24 turning 25 soon and I'm ready to lose my virginity. But I've gone this long without an STD so I'm nervous about that aspect.
When I was younger I didn't even think about it because of "my faith"and I didn't really admit to myself that I was agnostic till this year. Now that I'm older that left me as the guy with nothing on my resume. I'm also a really shy person and I think that is the number one problem I have as girls see shy as a lack of confidence and want nothing to do with a guy with no confidence. I also read someone else's post that people view him as being a snob when he is just shy, I have heard that comment about myself also.
Also, I want to be honest in my profile so should I just post that I'm a virgin or will that make girls even less likely to respond to my emails. | |

I never see myself going to bar or hiring a hooker, but I am naturally curious about what I'm missing, just not motivated enough to go out and get it.
So in my opinion you handle it like you've been handling it, or you go out and do something about it. Your friends or complete strangers might make fun of you for not getting laid or whatever, but who cares. It only bugs you because you let it, its no ones business except the girl you get that far with. | |

Apart from the obvious damage it'd do to their self-esteem (What, no one but a hooker who I have to PAY will have sex with me?), it's not something everyone's comfortable with doing.
I've had people tell me that I'm a virgin by choice, because I CHOOSE not to rape someone. Of course the logic there is flawed, but extend it to hooker use and you kind of see the point I'm getting at. | |

If he were saving his virginity for that somene special....a prostitute would not only take that away from him but also possibly give him a disease. To get a prostitue is one of the dumbest things I ever heard. NO PROSTITUES. Op there are things you can use to help until you find that special someone. The advice about the prostitue is completely outrageous and stupid. ignore that advice. | |

Yea...but the risk of STD's or getting arrested is something that is too high IMO to risk that.

if the reason is because you WANTED to (religious, etc.) then it might be different.
but if you wanted to 'lose' your virginity but were too afraid to, I think it may be a mental problem (IMO)

It's becoming more difficult as the years pass by and I get severely depressed and lonely because of it. I'm painfully shy and extremely nervous around people so it has been all but impossible for me to meet women. I've tried therapy with no success, I just can't seem to overcome my shyness no matter how hard I try. I'm not very physically attractive either, which is something I can't help despite dressing nicely and being well groomed because I'm cursed with a horrible combination of facial features...people have actually told me I'm ugly and complete strangers have pointed at me and made rude comments, laughed, ect.
I've tried online dating for years without any luck since most women either can't get past my physical appearance or the few who have don't connect on an emotional level with me. It's not just the absense of sexual experience that frustrates me, its the lack of intimacy and affection...it's the emotional closeness that I so badly desire more than anything. I've never considered a prostitute for that very reason because it wouldn't satisfy that basic desire, to feel wanted and desired by another person. I don't want to remember my first time as something I bought and paid for, I want it to be with someone I truly care about and want to feel desired by her. I don't know if I'll ever be able to find that, I'm afraid any woman who could get past my flaws would be freaked out and turned off if they knew how inexperienced I am. | |

Don't sleep with someone cuz u feel ur too old to be a virgin, do it when YOU want to. It's your body and your decision.

You know how I dealt with being a virgin at 21? I lost it to a hooker.
There are plenty of women around the world who are willing to give you a good time in exchange for little more cash than you'd spend on several nights of booze or a few video games.
Sure, prostitution is illegal in parts of the US, but you can always take a holiday or even re-locate to an area where it's legal, and see hookers there.
If you have a decent income, there's no reason for you to be a virgin at 25, and you should strongly consider paying for sex.
I did, and I've never regretted it since. | |
