"In the real world, I have no problem attracting the ladies. On these sites, I have a much different reaction. I can't help but wonder, is it my profile has problems? or is it the ladies receive so much email that they can't be bothered to send one? or???
I have been contacted by 3 women from this website who I didn't know. Oddly enough, the 3 other women who contacted me already know me. The point I'm trying to make is this - it's easier to approach someone who is familiar, regardless of their gender. Men and women both do it.
It's easier to 'flirt' with someone you've been introduced to at a house party for example than it is a total stranger with no introduction. But I'll say again, nothing ventured - nothing gained.

The opposite is never the case.

| Do guys take kindly to a women hitting on them? Posted: 8/14/2005 1:22:52 PM | | Personally, all of my life I have hit on guys. A lot of men looked at this girl next door face of mine and didn't believe that I was serious. So, I use to try again. Now days ....if I hit on them once and dont get a response ....I stop. That is just my way. No sense in making myself feel like a fool. I have come to realize that men still want to be the hunters, so I left them make the first move.....you will hardly see me making the first move on a guy anymore. I get so many more men wanting to just talk to me...if I play the shy one and let them decide for themselves. | |

Our little country here just might be ripe for a shakeup. Not too much military to get in the way. Except that people like you who are blessed with too much good old common sense never seem to wind up running countries, anywhere...
OT @whisperatnight
I'm again puzzled by my species. Being approached by someone like you would certainly be a dream come true in my book.

It would TRULY be a shakeup though, that I can promise you. And I agree whisper is a lovely lady, any man that could turn her down oughta get his head checked for leakage!

I've noticed that the streets and sidewalks are much more slippery than they used to be. I wonder whether this might be causing it?

Bucs or Martin? Who do you think would be better?

I was talking about tearing up the White House....hahaha I think we seriously need a woman Prez. Slippery streets...haha you're a funny guy!! OT: Men should be gracious to any woman who hits on them as women should always display the same grace and respect. Unless either is being crude about it!! Even though traditionally men make the first move, consider that a lady being brave enough to walk up to you deserves at least a polite answer and not to be treated as if she's overly agressive or desperate. Just say whatever you need to to give her the message but do be considerate of her feelings. I think that's what women want and are afraid of, men too. If you can't give someone a dignified polite turndown, then call your mother, she'll tell you what to do!!

I love all your posts here (and elsewhere), but this last one hits it out of the ballpark. Whether anyone likes to be hit on or not, a dignified polite turndown isn't so much to expect.
OT: Can't pretend to understand those who don't like being hit on as it is a compliment. Don't have to like the other person or the method used, but at least appreciate the compliment that the person thought something of you and had the guts to do something about it instead of admiring from afar and letting an opportunity slip by.

If you get "hit on" or approached and the approach is considerate and not tacky or lewd, then give them a polite response. Make your parents proud.

| Do guys take kindly to a women hitting on them? Posted: 8/14/2005 5:21:21 PM | Well, to maintain my male pride, I would put up a struggle....for 10 seconds.
Don't want anyone to think I'm too easy.
