i got a tattoo just above my ankle and the only painful part was that my opposite leg fell asleep cause of the way i had to sit for an hour to get it done. The first couple strokes of the outline stung a little bit, but after that it was pain free.
I got mine done 6 years ago in Medicine Hat, sadly, he is no longer doing tattoo's or I would reccomend him to you.

your shoulder blade area really shouldn't hurt too much at all. the more the muscle the less the pain. Heads, elbows, shins, that stuff is pain-ful. I'm working on flames on my left arm and am not looking forward to the elbow at all.

I have a tattoo on my hip...and honestly, if did hurt a bit...but after it was all said and done, it was a beautiful piece of work and the pain was so worth it...I don't really remember the pain so much now as then....The next one, my lower back, I'm sure again will be slightly painful, but again, well worth it in the end. I look forward to it....

Depends on how thin a person is as well.. the more padding.. the less pain.

I have enough padding.. I feel no pain.. or very very little..

I do think, however.. the back shoulder blade would be more painful than the lower back..

Anyone wanting to see mine can send me a message.. I'll show you.

I took the advice of the Ozzman, he said on one of his shows in his rumbling stuper "F'n tattoos, everyone and their f'n dog has a f'n tattoo, why you'd want a f'n tattoo god damn f'n tattoo's i got f'n tattoo's "Sharon your dog pissed on my floor" bloody dog's and f'n tattoo's if you want to be f'n original, dont get a f'n tattoo" well it was something like that! (Actually not why i don't have any, but if you can actually understand Ozzy talk, it made perfect sense) Although im sure i will get one someday, just never have, maybe i won't i like tattoo's though!

get a tattoo is like sticking your middle finger up at the ex.. sure to piss him off.. lol

seriously though,, its mostly cause my 15 yr old daughter is getting her lip pierced, (don't even get me started there) and I can't let her beat me..

So I figured Smilin Buddha's been around forever so I went there and checked it out. Must be good they are booking appointments into late September.
So much for showing up at the meet and greet with a new tat!!!

From what I know Smilin' Buddah is worth waiting for. her lip, your tattoo, that's just the beginning of the addiction. I started with a couple of piercings a few years ago and haven't stopped yet!

There is a tatoo show in September. The artist who did mine, did an exceptional job.... He's from Saskatoon, but will be staying in Calgary after the show. His name is Jared, from Divine Art. He's amazing... I have on the back of my calf the most detailed tatoo I've ever seen in person and he was pretty happy with what he did. If I didn't have other plans, I'd be in the show...

Rod - I think thats why i want a tatoo - a permanent tribute to my angels, also why the artwork is so important to me.
