I notice Lidrec still has his upper age limit of 50 on there. Too bad, he's reasonably local and seems interesting, but I am "too old" for him. Of course, he is also about 10 yrs older than the last former Alaska fisherman I dated.

Oh God! I thought we had buried this page forever, come on Lidrec, where are you ? I guess you have to defend your self yet again! I guess the older you get the more times you have to face the bridges you've burnt! Or not burnt............

I am in favor of aging. I think it is the right direction to go along in time. George Carlin has a great description of his preference for life being lived backwards from death. All I remember is that it ends in an orgasm.

All bridges can be rebuilt thru favor and or discord, apoligies given and hopfully taken. Yet at times some gasoline and a match can be delightening. As always once one opens their mouth it is too late to take back the words . So with some tact i can only say that my brain is awash with endevors of love, so with that confusion i am left speechless and profound............thank you all,Lidrec

Age does matter if you do not age well.....the key is working hard with what you have and not giving up just because you are getting older. Good food....good exercise.....good genes and good friends will make all the difference.

I am NOT old....I am just better than I was before and much much more comfortable and knowageable about life....women and the rest....smiles

Hey My sherrie, is my age good enough for you...

I am a good teacher and I can be taught as well, because there is always time for learning.

Oh really!!!!!!!!!! so if you were in your 20's would you date someone as old as your grand mother ? I really doubt it,so age does matter to some degree.

I'm 36,I wouldn't date someone 12yrs.older then me,maybe 12yrs.younger because then they'd be 24 instead of 48.

Funny thing, I've dated men older and younger and I have to say that the younger men live up to my expectations better than the older men. Who I found too childish (the older). The older men were trying to either re-capture or re-live something in their pasts which got old quick because it was all about games. Yet the younger men I've been with have been forthright and challenging for me which for me is a turn on. Always pushing the validity of age as a major factor in romance rather than the initial spark or connection between two strangers getting to know one another. The younger mens lack of experience with life (not sex) was the real downer for me. I learned that people need to learn lessons on their own and come to resent those who try to gift wrap those same lessons for them. I understand now that age really is a number and that it's a person's experience with life that matters; how they're living it.

I have all too often had crushes on older men but I believe the facination comes in the guise of power. Esp. with older men. Younger men are associated with sex because they lack the same amount of power, unless they're the ambitious sort. But power is sexy, I see it as assuredness, confidence, substance, intelligence, wisdom and experience.

ps. Power does not equal money in my book.

Should have written:

Kinda the same thing but didn't know if it came through as clear.

Someone once told me: "my baggage fits neatly in an overhead compartment...so must yours." I like that - we all have some sort of baggage...

What happen to the age old addage that a woman matures faster than a man ?

I don't think there is any reality to that. You either grow up and be an adult or you work very hard to stay in child or teenage mode.

That wasn't aimed at you personally...but I'm sure we all have seen men and women who really more act like little boys and girls. There's a big problem now in our country where it seems males and females are not only not being fully taught to be adults, but also not even taught how to be their gender. How a boy should be a man and a girl should be a woman.

Everyone has their own translations of what a man and a woman are...but it seems like adults now are not taught any of it...and just walk about totally confused.

A quick look at it, boys are told one minute that being a man is to be "Father Knows Best". The head of the household, responsible, a father, husband, etc. Then someone else tells them that being a man means you are able to easily pick up women and lay them...as well as to be emotionless, strong, stern. THEN...we're suddenly told to be sensitive, caring, PC, and to understand a woman's emotional needs.

Women too. They first are told to be wives, mothers, and princesses. Then they're told to be career professionals, independent, and educated. Then somewhere else they're told to be hot, sexy, and value themselves only when men want them.

Can you see why everyone is so confused now? There's no clear definition anymore.
