| sleep assistance.. Posted: 8/15/2005 10:34:21 PM | 1 - Sleepy time tea
2 - nice warm bath and clean sheets
3 - try not to go to bed too early, be sure you are good and tired
4 - a trick I learned years and years ago; turn your clock around and DO NOT look at it at all during the night... this stops the panic eg. omg I have been laying here for 3 hours and I have to get up in 2 more hours
5 - tell yourself that if you don't sleep.. that you will phone in sick tomorrow - that always worked for me as it took the pressure off to get to sleep.
6 - and if all else fails, turn on your computer and chat on the forums until you fall asleep at your computer.
Good Luck and know that you are not alone.
Nite Nite.
PS why is this under sex and dating???

You may want to take 4 ibuprofens right before you attempt this to counter the throbbing pulsing feeling you may have upon waking.
Or you could try the warm milk and bananas thing it works for me.

However, one can "overdo it" with anything. You can kill yourself if you take too much valerian, even. Drugs, herbs, vitamins, etc., all have to be taken with precaution and common sense.

Fragrances that have aphrodisiac properties inspire romance, are relaxing and ensure a restful sleep. Try scenting your lingerie, night clothes, bed linens with lavender or geranium. Add 2 drops of lavender or geranium to the final rinse when hand-washing lingerie. Add 2 drops of geranium or lavender to a clean cotton handerchief and place it in the dryer. When storing clean lingerie in a drawer, reinforce the scent by dripping a few drops of the same esesntial oil onto a cotton ball, cotton handerchief, tissue or paper drawer liner. Use these same methods for bed linens and towels for the ultimate in romantic luxuriance, to promote relaxation and restful sleep. Most guys probably won't admit that the smell of a little purple flower will turn them on. Try it.

| sleep assistance.. Posted: 8/20/2005 10:24:56 AM | I've given men lavender on their pillow before and it has put them to sleep. Because it's a relaxant.
But then again, the men I've given it to were going through bouts of insomnia so sex probably wasn't on their mind.
Maybe I'll try it with a non sleep deprived man... I've only used lavender as a relaxant when needed. The smell doesn't bother me, but I don't particularly enjoy it enough to want to smell it all the time.
Although, when men are in my bedroom, they don't need aphrodisiacs!!

| sleep assistance.. Posted: 8/20/2005 11:41:01 AM | | I work midnights and average about 4-5 hours a day. Keep your room dark (i have hunter green blinds), temp cool ( i have central air or in the winter just close your heat duct), and read a few pages of a good novel (the reading knocks me out after about 4 pages). Hope this helps! | |
