it seems more comfortable when the guy is taller. I even end up feeling like they're more masculine.

I prefer guys to be taller than myself which isn't hard to do. I really don't like little guys physically. I guess I have a problem dating someone who I think is frail. Big, strong, tall and protective that's the way I like 'em.

AND there is no thruth to the myth
that men who like petite or shorter women
do so so that part of their own body
will appear larger....

I am 5' 81/2 " and according to all my friends quite handsome. I am fit and have a mesomrphic build(muscular by nature) therein weight about 195 Lbs.I have a real hard time getting dates & then when I do they never want a second one. All my friends think I am a real good guy .I am well educated & always a gentlemean. I am known as a good conversationalist & listener(I was a counsellor prior to retiring). The only thing I can think off is that I am too short. Although not scientific, I did a review of men between 50 & 60 & found the ones who where taller had the most favorites. It would seem the cut off point is 5' 10".

I would like to hear from some women in my area here in Kelowna on this topic. Perhaps I am destined to remain single due to this genetic factor. I am really getting tired of all the time I waste on here.I would be OK with being alone since I have lots of friends however it would be nice to meet someone.

Thanks for your replies in advance.

Bill

PS..I have the same experience at the local blues club....women will not dance with me however the taller slimmer men do just fine.I am not fat, just stocky..no beer belly, big arms & legs etc..I can not make myself lighter thinner because it is all muscle & bone…very frustrating.I am often alone while everyone around me is dancing at the Blue Gator therefore I rarely go anymore even though I love the music.

OMG I just had the funniest memory that relates to all this.

One of my childhood friends and his brother came to the coast to visit a few years ago and I tool them out to a party for one of my employees that was leaving the company.
The soon to be ex-employee was an attractive young girl who was fairly tall (5'8 - 5'9) and my buddy is fairly short.

After much alcohol we went outside where the nasty dirty awful smokers go and my buddy was goofing off and ran into the ex-employee...head down..

LOL, guess what he said after banging his head into this girls midsection...

"HOLY SH*T YOU HAVE A REALLY HIGH CROTCH!"

I'm 5'4" although I think I might have shrunk a little. I like a guy who is 5'9" - 5'11" ... that is the ideal, not to say I would not date guys outside this range. This height range allows me to wear flats & not feel too short & still be able to wear heels & be shorter than him. I find the taller the guy, the sexier I find him. When I put my arms around a guy's neck in an embrace or dance, I like to look up into his face ... just a little, not too much. Taller guys make me feel more secure, like they'd be strong enough to intimidate or throw off guys who get in our face. Taller guys also come with broader shoulders in most cases & I love curling up into a guy's chest that's wide enough to wrap around me. I also like a guy who is strong enough to pick me up & throw me over his shoulder .... then throw me onto the bed.

My last b/f was 6'4" & when we first met, his ground rule was that we could only be friends because he absolutely did not date anyone who was not at least 5'10 - 6'0". So we hung out together with no commitment until he looked deeply into my eyes one day & announced that he had "warm, fuzzy feelings for me" & when I asked for a little more clarity on that phrase, he said he was falling in love with me. I had already fallen for him but was trying to respect his wishes to not get emotionally involved so I hadn't divulged my feelings. We had a wonderful 6 years together until my car accident complicated our relationship. We are now friends & meet up for lunch every few months with or without our children.

Interesting & thoughtful reply F&S48.I would think a shorter muscular guy would have that same protective effect(wide shoulders, big arm& legs etc.). If I had a dime for ever 6 foot plus guy I either ran over or threw around wrestling I would be rich. It is funny how women can not see the protective power in a shorter mesomorphic guy like me .I laugh at some of the 6' 2' 190 Lbs plus guys who think they are tough…they are not. Funny world….it is all about some sort of primitive perception. I guess it will remain the loss of those who do not see this.

I would think if I were a 5 ' 1-2" women that the 5"5'' guy would be a catch. Not that I am “ bi “ or effete in anyway but nice physique pal & good on you for working at it..

I guess I will just sit around this weekend & tear some old phone books in half...lol.. I am past the bellicose stage however there would be few women that I could not easily protect, being a X football, hockey & Olympic freestyle wrestler.

Strange world

Thanks again for your responses….always interesting.

dated both tall and shorter guys..... i'm only 5'3 if that and as long as I don't have to stretch or stand on a stool it's all good.
As of late like sticking to guys that r close in height to me. Too tall gives me stiff neck.
I like my men within grabbing distance to give them a smooch!
