| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/1/2007 4:52:24 PM | My soon-to-be completed PhD and I have a tattoo.
However - if the question is about them being a turn-off or a turn-on. I imagine it is a personal thing. Like if you prefer long hair vs short hair. Jeans vs skirts. Blondes vs brunettes. Big vs small. Turn-ons are highly personal: I don't like tattoos on other people AT ALL, but some seem to find mine attractive. Some people think its funny. My mother was HORRIFIED (why do you think I got it???). So - it depends would be the answer....
Mind you, I am forever grateful mine is not on my belly (ew - stretch marks and tattoos), my breasts (yuck - sagging and tattoos!) or my backside (same thing!!). I want the nice people at my geriatric home to treat me nicely and not be falling over with revulsion at my body art....

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/1/2007 5:00:47 PM | Do you mean like a little artistic butterfly on a shoulder blade, or perhaps a heart or Playboy bunny symbol near the cleavage? I could live with that. On the other hand, I think men would be well advised to stay away from a woman who has a full body tattoo of Satan cutting the heart out of a man while female demons dance in glee.
George Carlin said this about tattoos on women: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to "beef with broccoli." The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/1/2007 6:31:12 PM | | I have a tattoo in mind...it has very special meaning for me. I wish I could get the design from my head to the paper. For those who like tats...where is the best spot for a woman to get one? | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/1/2007 8:28:01 PM | I think its cool. Sometime's tatoo's express who you are, what someone may have achieved, or will become, or just a simple reminder of something about their life. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/1/2007 10:55:19 PM | | Gotta' sympathize with robstercraws67...To add: Tattoos are simply too fadish. Tattoos used to 'mean' something, i.e. you were a tough guy (really), or did a stint in the armed services, etc. Now they're just arbitrary embroideries. I once knew a provincial champion boxer who had a pair of boxing gloves tattooed on his upper arm..which I thought entirely appropriate seeing as he had *earned* them. In like fashion, I've often thought that I would never entertain getting a tattoo unless I too was likewise deserving of it. Anything less seems pretentious and / or affected. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/18/2007 6:52:33 PM | By Gary5252... ".....very few people who do these things have any idea why they were originally done or what any of the symbols mean. usually it is from a desire to fit in with a certain group; a feeling of selflessness. no need to myself, no problem with seeing them, just gotta ask "why".
Hmmmm Gary, maybe you should ask why or read some of the posts before making such a comment filled with ignorance (lack of knowledge). I guess I am one of the few!!! lol
ps - Americanlove........ too true, I'm sure the 'boob-job' mutilation is just an exception to the rule.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/18/2007 7:11:19 PM | I have a very tasteful tatoo which I did not get done until 30 something....It is a one of a kind, as family member drew it to my specifications, it was never photographed and I have the copy paper from which it was traced....my tatoo has meaning to it.....I have no "desire to fit in with a certain group" I always said that If I could get one with meaning I would, and so I put one together with help of an artist in the family.....I agree that some should find the story behind the tatoo before making snappy judgements!!! | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/18/2007 7:30:29 PM | I have never gone onto these forums and rendered an opinion, but come on people in prison??!!
I have a tattoo of a butterfly on my back - it is done in black and a celtic style - why - butterfly's represent rebirth, a new beginning, and after leaving my husband of 15 years that was how I felt. I am not ignorant, not in jail, or unintelligent. I am a highly successful professional - I have something that has meaning to me.
Turn on, turn off, whatever - I may not like the mole on your back, but I won't give you a hard time because you didn't have it removed.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/19/2007 11:17:54 AM | Whenever someone has a tatoo the first word that comes to mind is "follower" and please dont spew the crappy phrase "but it means something.." you don't need to ingrave a perminent ink logo on your body to define who you are, like seriously a lot of people are in denial about this tatoo stuff its really pathetic, its a giant fad and people always deny it.
Same thing with tongue peircings , i hate when women say its to "look cool" meanwhile the only perpose it serves is to improve your oral sex skills.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/19/2007 2:58:29 PM | | ^ not hard to tell some comments are written by a pup.... for the younger generation maybe... but not for all... so maybe the comments should have "usually" written in there. My first and only tat was at 40 and is a small drawing of two hummingbirds that my dad drew two years before he died. And I smile and think of him everytime I look at it and will never regret doing it. That gets classed as pathetic?? Hmm I'm thinking 'sentimental' and to each their own in how they choose to express it. | |

Nah I classify that as being brainwashed along with everyone else who follows these fads, you will be regretting it when you turn 60 and your skin is sagging however. Oh and don't give me that "pup" remark I seem to be one of the few people around in this kindof society who doesn't conform to everything everyone else does.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 12:29:40 AM | blueguy - you are poorly informed, because unlike the tattoos youve obviously seen, which seems to be from trying to pick up 17 year old mallrats in your 2001 honda civic with a wing your mom just bought you, not everyone has celtic, tribal and butterfly tattoos "i believe in the golden rule which is to treat others the same way you would like to be treated. I don't like the way in which people treat eachother these days, people seem to treat eachother like items rather than human beings it seems not too many have any considerations for others feelings. I am a humble person" after reading your posts and then reading your profile, youre exactly what you say you're not - just like everybody else. why dont you apply your golden rule to people with different beliefs, those including body modification, or just shove it up your ass. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 1:13:11 AM | Tattoo's are a personal choice
You will guess from my profile that I have quite a few. They dont have to 'mean' anything, they are ARTWORK, the only difference between tattoos and other art work is that of the canvas, its my skin.
I had my first when I was 34, not a kid trying to 'fit in', but a mature woman, making her own decision. I love my art. I am a professional person, my art is covered when i am at work becasue of the judgemental way people view it, but this is not done out of shame or embarrasment, but our of respect for those that dont not approved of tattoos in the workplace.
please dont judge, just accept that we are all different, in our both preferences, and our views.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 1:25:09 AM | No now your just twisting what my profile says to make me sound like a liar, I treat people (regardless of race, tatoos, culture, sex, etc etc) as id like to be treated, that doesnt mean i agree with their life styles. Example:
Tatoo person: Hello how are you Me: Hey hows it going? tatoo: great! *shows me tatoo* (unlikely but just for example) Me: (for the sake of being a civilized person with manners) Ah thats cool.
Tatoo person leaves area
me thinking *eww thats gross*
So yeah please dont try playing the "your profile is misleading" card because that wont work, Someone can still be humble, kind and treat others and not agree with their lifestyle. I dont expect people to accept my views because i know ill just be called a closed minded superstiticious believer in god. Oh and for the record my ex girlfriend was a major femenist and i dont mean the good kind either (so our values clashed BIG TIME) and i really cared about her and tried to make it work. So yes I am tolerant but I have learned for the future to look for someone who shares the same values (which may not be for a long time but i dont care id rather be single then with someone who makes me miserable) Anyways im going off topic now just to prove my point.
2001 honda? I wish I dont even own a car yet, those contraptions are expensive as hell to own now thanks to high insurance costs. Also if I was spoiled like you make me out to be (which im nowhere near,) I wouldnt be on a dating site looking for a potential partner I'd take up some hobbies (where i could meet people in person vs online sites)because Id have the money to burn and not have to worry about bills/saving for school.
I also find it amusing you looked through a lot of my posts just to try and prove me wrong, did i touch a nerve? Yeah I think your in denial too, if you were so sure of your own beliefs you wouldnt be e-stalking me on here and hurling insults at me like no tommorrow. If you believe in what you want then good for you , but getting defensive and trying to make me look bad makes me think your unsure of yourself. and besides who gives a crap if some closed minded conservative catholic guy doesnt like your little lower back tatoo.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 1:53:47 AM | OK!...after reading a few posts in here....I don't care who thinks "MY" tattoos are a turn-on, or turn-off!....I love all of them, and have 13....let's see...I have them on both legs, and on the top my foot.....also on both upper arms....a lower back one...and my ribs...and both shoulders....and my hip.....and my azz!<----
