| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 2:23:30 AM | my 'internet stalking' which consisted of liek 10 minutes of looking at posts you have on the internet, which are representations of yourself, is not stalking. thats called getting information and an opinion in a non ignorant way. adn you saying that youre tolerant is a joke - calling people who have tattoos 'brainwashed' is not something a progressive and benevolent person such as yourself would say. since you brought it up, for no good reason, youre a 'conservative catholic' if i said to you, 'all catholics are brainwashed' - how the **** is that tolerant? and i do have a right to be defensive about what you've said - because you know nothign about it. i have a tattoo in memorial to my dad who died when i was 12. somethign that i got 6 years ago that lets me remember him and share his memory with people is being pushed aside as nothing more than a product of brainwashing. i dont give a shit about all these people with ridiculous tribal tattoos and butterflies on their lower back - they obviously did it for the wrong reasons. they will have to deal with the ramifications of their actions, not you. let them deal with it. there are always inane people involved with every aspect of life - they shouldnt represent the entire population. in regards to your useless rant about how expensive it is to have a car because youre a starving student - cry me a river. almost everyone goes through it. poor you. also, your little excerpt from a conversation with someone with tattoos? that just made you look like a fool. and made your age and insensibility all the more prominent. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 9:14:41 AM | | Well I'm a woman and I have no tattoos yet but eventually I'd like to get some on my arms. If that's a "turn-off" to anyone then I guess they wouldn't be suitable for me anyway. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 9:35:21 AM | Love them! I think the left brain thinkers (engineer types) as a general rule probably do not care as much for them, however I am very much right brained, (the creative side) and I think they are great, as I as I enjoy both the artistic value and the, somewhat alluring exotic appeal of them. I have none as of yet (but may in the future) and I do not hold it against anyone who has none either. In addition to the artistic beauty, I also admire the courage it takes for a woman to get one because it will be there basically forever (unless of course one can pay big bucks to have it removed).
(btw... GothicOrchid Yours look great! I especially like the work on your back. You can tell your artist I said nice job)

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 10:36:47 AM | (This post is in no way is directed at those who simply stated a preference of not liking tattoos. This post is for those who had ugly, demeaning things to say about those who choose to have tatts)
After reading some more of the posts, I must add something for some of you people who are judgmental and walking around with some sort of false piety. First of all, it was that sort of judgmental, better than you attitude which drove me to no longer serve as a minister in a Baptist church about two years ago. Secondly, I am convinced that if people with that sort of judgmental attitude would spend half of that energy helping others, this world would be much better off, as I believe God is much more concerned with how we treat others than with what we look like. The only time it is not alright for a person to have a tattoo, piercing, or any other form of body art is if THEY feel God is telling them not to do it! Beyond that, it is no one else' business. Oh, and I just thought of another reason I enjoy tattoos- They can serve to draw out the judgmental people so one knows exactly who they should avoid.

you will be regretting it when you turn 60 and your skin is sagging
Aww, there is nothing like a 20 year old concerned about the perils of aging! It's so sweet!
I didn't even get my tattoos until I was 52. And you know, even at the age of 58, the skin on my lower back shows no sign of sagging - can you imagine?

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 11:26:02 AM | it wasn't a pretty site then and Wes Craven should be looking for the bluebirds fo his next horror flick. Or George Lucas, Revenge of the Octopi. How about a documenty? When Breasts Attack. mind you, at this point in time they'd be going after ankles only.
Behind hazel eyes.. Always good to be able to read what a GQ model is actually thinking. . people in glass houses.....

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 11:44:13 AM | | I think in the Bible it says that in moderation both tatoos and piercings are okay. The question is: What is considered moderate? | |

I consider myself to be pretty right-brained myself and I'm not a tattoo fan. I do crafts, have a house full of good art, enjoy interior decorating and antiquing -- that's pretty right-brain, no? Still I wouldn't put a tattoo on myself in a million years and wouldn't have a lover with one. Men with tattoos, body piercings are just a turn off to me. I like the conservative types with short hair, who still wear suits, and open doors for women.
That having been said, what the rest of the world does with their bodies is of no concern of mine. I'm not the fashion police.
The only thing that makes me want to blow my lunch is when I encounter a person with a face full of hardware. I have a lot of trouble looking at someone who has a million little holes in their face -- it's still your choice, but it's very hard to look at.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 12:39:24 PM | MMM I have one tattoo, and it is on the back side of my shoulder...I put it there in memory of my mother who passed away...It is a little angel girl in a pink dress with a rose in her hand...with mom under it...I am not the typical lady that you would expect to have a tat... but I take my hand and rub it, as I rub it I think of my mother...and it feels like she is hugging me again... so would I do it again not sure, but it sure makes me feel loved , and it was for my mother...In Memory of her.... | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 1:50:47 PM | Hi alexadria gal
I was speaking in generalities, and trends based on the very nature of art itself. I also said that left brain thinkers would be the ones who tend to not appreciate the art and that I am a right brain thinker. As for you, not sure if you would be right, left, or balanced brained unless you have taken a professional psychological/ personality test evaluation to find out. I have taken several, and they always come out the same. Some employers give them for free when they are trying to find out what kind of workers they have and how best to motivate them. Also, you can also find them on line for free if you do a google search for personality tests.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 2:30:38 PM | "...you will be regretting it when you turn 60..."
Never, as it was for sentimental personal reasons and not a fad, that is the difference.....although it must be nice for the non-conformists of 'this kind of society' (whatever THAT means) to definately 'know' what others think or will think lol... again, maybe you should have put the word "probably" in there.

Lol okay you crack me up, your the one who claimed I owned a car and I was just telling you why thats not possible and your telling me to get over it? What a moron it's not breaking news that every student has it financially hard (except the spoiled ones of course with loaded parents)
The other thing that made me laugh is you said my stupid argument made my age more obvious, that makes absoulutely no sense, if anything i should be sounding like some 40 something year old father. Most guys my age love tatoos.
I don't think it made me look like a fool at all I think it shows that im not a comformist like most of society and doesnt try to make up excuses to say why some things are okay when they arent. For tatoos its a preference I cant really say they are "wrong" because technically there isnt much wrong with them to begin with. I just dont like them because I think they look gross. Like some hideously mutated birth mark or something.
Also if you told me all catholics were "brainwashed" it wouldnt be tolerant but then again most people these days are athiests and believe anything the media says these days so i wouldnt give a crap to begin with because im used to feeling like the minority all the time anyways. (and i didnt say i didnt tolerated people with tatoos i just said i didnt like tatoos so stop twisting my words around you crazy girl with the crazy profile! and stop e-stalking me! )

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 5:42:27 PM | Well I am forever amazed by the simple mindedness, ignorance and narrowmindedness of an incredible amount of people out there. Comments like, "Trailer trash", and what was it...something like "Marks of a slut". Who are you people to judge others with tattoos? You don't even know these people. I'm sure you are just so saintly, and perfect right? Some of the most generous, honest and RESPECTABLE people I know are tattoed. It's a form of art and expression. I myself have one small tattoo on the back of my shoulder. I had it done before it was a "fad". It means something to me. I am a teacher and my students see it every now and then in the summer. They ask me what it is and I tell them. Curious minds...I won't lie to them. The parents have never had a problem and the children are facinated. And I am by NO means so called trailer trash or a slut. I have a respectable job and live a respectable lifestyle. Personally, I think tattoos on a guy are sexy as hell. But that doesn't mean I'm not attracted to guys who don't have any.
Okay...I'm done my ranting! Lol!

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 5:53:45 PM | | Blaze, in regards to your question, I think moderation in any case is determined by each individual depending upon what God is telling them at any given time. What might be a problem for one person may not be a problem at all for another person. A one size fits all does not really work for me, because we are all individuals, have individual tastes (as demonstrated on this thread), desires, dreams, aspirations, and goals. Just one guys opinion. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 7:07:27 PM | What I find pretty funny whenever these tatoo threads pop up is the majority of people that reply in the thread usually relate with the whole tatoo thing and as soon as that one person sticks out and says they hate tatoos the whole thread goes insane and everyone who likes tatoos gets defensive like crazy. If your fine with tatoos then why get mad over one member saying he doesnt like tatoos? Is it perhaps my little denial theory has some truth to it?
I also find the typical responses amusing as well:
- its obvious your too young to understand - your closed minded - get with the times - stop imposing your beliefs on me! - your a jerkoff
and etc etc.
I love how when i claim people are brainwashed into doing all these things everyone flips out , its like somewhere in their brains theres a giant red alarm going off and the brain cells are attacking eachother to gain control. Who knows maybe my little theory is wrong, maybe these people have been ridiculed by family members and friends so much they get defensive about it who knows.
Basically what I'm saying is , not all people with tatoos are bad, not all non-tatoo people are good , good and bad apples in each bunch. im just saying i dont like tatoos, i just think people make too much of a big deal about them thats all and try to fit in with the rest of society, it seems everyone i talk to has one (or more) and is interested with them when coincedently (its a huge fad in the media) so in conclusion it is a fad , (at least for most of the people getting them now, mainly the teens) but some here claim their tatoos have meanings to them and thats fine , i cant really prove them wrong since i dont know them or what they have been through. Bleh now im just trailing on.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 7:39:35 PM | Ok blueguy... read your first post and then read the last paragraph of your last post...... had you posted it first, you wouldn't have as many people jump on you. Impressively written. I personally just like seeing how much you type in your responses and with hardly any spelling errors... LOL | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 7:49:46 PM | | Tatoos are ok, just not on a womans breasts,,why cover up something that's so beautiful ???? why cover up a work of art with another work of art,,, | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 7:58:43 PM | | I agree with the OP. A few are OK, but if the girl looks like a tattooed female version of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, I'd have to pass. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 8:02:51 PM | djjamensky - I just looked in the Bible. Leviticus 19:28 reads:
And YOU must not make cuts in YOUR flesh for a deceased soul, and YOU must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves. I am Jehovah.
And Proverbs 11:22 reads:
As a gold nose ring in the snout of a pig, so is the woman that is pretty but that is turning away from sensibleness.
I thought there was another Scripture on this subject, but I haven't located it yet. Maybe this is it? Tattoos are a big no-no then. I'm not sure about piercings. Is that considered a 'cut'?
I don't know - I think 'moderation' is key when it comes to piercings at least, but if God would tell me EXACTLY how many holes I was supposed to have, I guarantee I would listen to Him.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 8:09:13 PM | I have 2 tattoos and both are actually very beautiful......They are also very special to me and I don't regret getting either of them.
Still haven't decided if I will get one more or not......Or where I will have it done but it will be placed in an area that I won't be ashamed to show!

I think piercings are prohibited in the Old Testament too, somewhere in the 5 books of Moses. I think the only God-sanctioned modification of body parts is male circumcision. Chances are, if something was practiced by pagan tribes in the ancient Middle East, then most likely it's forbidden in the Bible.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 1/20/2007 8:31:56 PM | | I swear there's another Scripture on the subject - if I ever locate it, I'll post it. I think tattoos, even small ones, are forbidden. I think that's one reason I opted not to get one. I'm not sure about piercings though - I would almost swear those are okay in moderation, but I wouldn't quote me on that. | |
