Why even have em if you're just gonna hide them? Apparently you missed the number of people posting in this thread (and similar ones) who judge a person (their abilities, character, trustworthiness, etc.) based on a tattoo. Why subject one's self to that when one need only have it strategically placed? Okay... there's another option: just don't get one. IOW, don't be true to ourselves and allow others to make our choices for us. Silly me! That's really not an option for most people.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/10/2007 4:20:07 PM | Once while shopping, the clerk was a middle aged/plump woman. It was several years ago when almost everything had shoulder pads. I saw this blob on her chest and was about to tell her she was loosing her shoulder pad, when she moved another way and I saw that it was a "sagging" tatoo. I agree that if you must have them, put them somewhere discreet....or be prepared for what is to come. Personally, I've seen too many men with one woman's name on their arm and another woman as their wife. Tatoos are permanent .....wives are not. I rarely see tatoos on the men I'm interested in, however, I find that in most cases I don't like. .....too many just makes the person look dirty. JMO Becca | |

Not a religious person and not a political person but tattoos make me think of what Hitler did to all those innocent people. There are still some survivors alive who still have numbers tattooed on their arms....I hate tatoos.......just my opinion.
Tattoos are an art form that predates Hitler by thousands of years. I have a friend who goes nearly crazy about tattoos because she claims that the Bible is against it although it doesn't concern her that it also condemns body piercings (pierced ears are piercings). My answer to her was that if you don't like something, don't like it, but don't try and conjure up some external reasoning to justify your dislike.
Tattoos on necks are about the stupidest ones of seen...
Well, one person's "stupidest" is another's beautiful and the butterfly on the back of the neck of the woman with whom I work is beautiful and you can only see it when she wears her hair up, but it is her neck and her choice. Lots of people think certain paintings are stupid while others admire them--tattoos are no different.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/12/2007 10:08:09 PM | | yuck...getting a tatoo is like sticking a piece of gum on the mona lisa painting. Why mess with something that is already perfect? Besides almost everyone these days has a tatoo that they virtually don't have any real meaning anymore. Besides why do you have to have a painful needle ingrave a pattern (in perminent ink)into your skin to make a point? I mean am I the only one that looks at it this way? Also when I see that a woman has a tatoo, it looks like she has no mind of her own because she's just trying to fit in with society and the latest fads, and etc. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/12/2007 10:49:39 PM | I'm not a big fan of them, not even the lower back tattoos to be honest. They don't really bother me although I've yet to see one I think of as an improvement. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned or stodgy or something who knows.
But to each his own, it seems like most girls have tats now anyway.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/12/2007 11:07:56 PM | Tatoos and piercings....either one.....I just don't see the
"point".
Our bodies were perfect when they came from the womb and should stay that way.
My ex has 5 of them. I suppose they were "pretty" when they were fresh and her skin was younger. Today, pushing she is pushing 60 and they are ugly and she hates them. she has had them for more than 30 yrs.
Think about it girls. You may say it won't bother you today, but you don't even know what tomorrow will bring let alone what 30 yrs will do to your thinking and feelings.
Think about it. Long and hard!

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/13/2007 7:51:37 PM | Tattoos on a woman well as a woman with 9 tattoos which all mean something in someway and were done for a reason, the i would say what does it matter if she has them or not.
Are people in society really that shallow they cant see past a few tattoos and that could make or break a decision that you could regret for the rest of your life as she could be Mrs Right But she has tattoos so shes definately not for me??!!! WTF??!!
People really need to look past thoses things as they are cosmectic and inner beauty and personality is what counts, not someone that has or has not got tattoos, its a personal preference for a person and their own decision and body and them having tattoos dont make them different or weird , just means they made a deicision to do what they feel right, which after all is what life is about , making your own decisions??

small ones place either on the small of the back or just above the strawberry turnover, cute and sexy.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/14/2007 12:20:20 PM | Hmmm, not sure tatoo's keep the riffraff away- more likely they keep the really good men away. Can you see a Doctor, a Judge, a Senator marrying a gal with a tatoo on her shoulder?

I'm not sure about tattoos, but the 31 year old wife of Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich, who is running for president, does have a tongue stud. Dennis Kucinich is widely admired and his wife Elizabeth attended the University of Kent at Canterbury in the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2001 and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Theology and a Master's degree in International Conflict Analysis. Her thesis for her Master's was on "Conflict Resolution in World Politics". I don't think that either one of them qualify as riffraff, but narrow minded people would probably disagree since it is so easy to judge and dismiss people based upon superficial things. She is also 6' tall while he is only 5'7" and he is nearly twice her age, so evidently she was not judging him on his height or age (of course, that would never be done here at POF either). She is also much better looking for a female than he is for a male, so personality was seemingly most important to her too.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/16/2007 6:55:25 AM | | I personally have three of them and each one has very significant memories and reasons behind them. Except in the summer around the pool I'm the only one who sees them (or someone I choose to let see them). If someone is going to judge me because of them, I don't need them in my life. | |

So if I understand you correctly poster you would rather marry an adulterer than have a tattoo.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Makes sense. I guessssssssss?
With sarcasm.
I thank you. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/16/2007 7:18:24 AM | | TURN ON--TATTOO'S DO NOT MAKE A PERSON ITS WHAT'S IN YOUR HEART & KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE THAT MATTERS MOST. PEOPLE SEE TATTOO'S THINK YOU ARE IN A GANG OR INTO DRUGS & A CRIMINAL.WHEN PEOPLE IN MILITARY & LAW ENFORCEMENT HAVE TATTOO'S. I HAVE LOTS OF TATTOO'S & HOPE TO FIND A WOMAN WITH TATTOO'S ALSO. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/16/2007 12:51:49 PM | I personally don't have any tatoo's ...however i guess one or two is fine.
Why do guys find them repulsive on women...but acceptable on men? lol

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 12/17/2007 8:38:08 AM | tatoos are usually a personal statement. and yes i can see a doctor, a judge or a senator marrying a woman with a tatoo because more than likely he fell in love with the person...not the tatoo or the lack of tatoos. so yes...i think tatoos keep the riff raff away. why would I want to marry anyone that thought my physical appearance was a barrior?
and ps by the way. are there really enough doctors, judges or senators on here that i should be concerned?
