Wow, I always looked at tattoos as taboo. Yet I had a friend who passed away from Cancer just recently. I told him that I was going to get a tattoo. He said that it was my choice, he didnt approve at first. But knowing that he passed away from doing Copahegan. He said that he wouldnt judge me. I told him it was for us. He would always call me his love in German. So I had two humming birds, who smybolize him and me. White honeysuckles meaning life and the words I love you my love, in German. It took 3hrs because of the great detail. I had never had one done. It was so painful, yet it was nothing as to what my friend was suffering before his death. I am glad I had it done. I am no longer ignorant as to those who do have them. Its a pain that can be unbearable. Kudos to those who have them for whatever reason they choose. I will no longer judge(dont really care if I'm judged). I'm 51 first tattoo, and I'm happy. To me its a work of art and my way to remember a lost love forever. See this is what I think off as irrational thinking and what is making the tattoo people rich. A work of art should be put on display for everyone to see, build a monument. You now have a tattoo that in your mind symbolizes you and some other guy! Yeah I would want that on a woman I want to spend a future with (said sarcastically). In my opinion it is much more classy to have a painting on the wall or a sculpture built in memory of that person. That will last forever, your tat will wither away as your body does.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 7:40:59 AM | "Why don't you all just stop trying to be the judge and jury on ANYONE who wants to get a tattoo?"
Because THAT's what the discussion is about. ( Bless your heart )
And by the way," IN MY OPINION", I don't like women putting tats on their breasts. You already have something that is soo beautiful and you take away from it by adding a tat. I do like the tat on the lower back and maybe even the arm band thingy.
It's only my opinion !! | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 8:33:18 AM | > I don't know many guys who think Kat Von D is fug.
I do. It is sad such a pretty girl decided to turn herself into a walking comic book.
I don't mind a tasteful tattoo on a girls ankle or shoulder blade, but if it is her breasts, arms or stomach she just looks like a lowlife stripper to me. As a friend of mine once put it, "getting a tattoo on a tit is like putting a flame job on a porche." However, some friends of mine like this look (however I doubt many of the ladies have heard WHY certain guys do).

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 9:02:53 AM | | Tattoos are not a dealbreaker per se, but I'm not attracted to them, tattoos right now are trendy and hip, however there will be a time again when it won't be so hip to have so many tattoos, sleeves, etc. and there will be many people wondering why did they get so many tats and wishing they could get rid of many of them. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 9:06:00 AM | | I know this question is probably geared more for the men, but id like to jump in too. lol I have to agree with poster 806 ^^^ about females getting tats on their breasts, arms (upper/ lower/ wrist area), or stomaches. Personally,,,, i think it makes the woman look cheap and nasty. I do have 4 tats of my own and would never ever think of getting them put on those places. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 9:07:54 AM | Judge ye not lest ye be judged.Who said that? I think a persons interior is much more important. The people who think less of others because of body decor may likely have issue with real important stuff like whether their lattee has enough cinnamon | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 9:35:32 AM | | I am in my fifties, and my new girlfriend of two months(she's 40) has a fairly large one above her ankle. She showed it to me on our second date. It doesn't bother me, although I don't think it is a particularly attractive tattoo. | |

If you go with those standards then your saying those of us who chose not to be with someone who does drug, were judging them too. Its not judging, its a preference. Just like some womens profiles I have seen, they only want a guy that has tattoos. I don't in anyway feel that she is judging me are degrading me be cause I don't have any.
I don't know many guys who think Kat Von D is fug I didn't know what a Kat Von D was so I googled her. Very beautiful women under the ink, but I would have nothing to do with her because of all the tats on her, and thats my choice

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 3:52:12 PM | I dislike Tattoos on women. It's totally unfeminine and a complete turn off.
Tattoos are for hard asses, like convicts, bikers, soldiers and pirates.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 2/29/2008 5:13:59 PM | I have two tattoos and am very proud of them. I also have them strategically placed and no one gets to see them unless I want them to. Everyone has preferences and if a guy doesn't like me because I have body art that is his choice. I have preferences about men not being shorter than I am. If you have a tattoo, Great!! If you don't have a tattoo, Great!! Enjoy life and worry about something important!! | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 3/1/2008 12:14:42 PM | Look at this face .. if I didn't tell you about them, I'm sure you wouldn't believe that I have tatoos .. count 'em, 5, yep 5 .. and no one will see them unless I want you to. I like tatoos, if you don't have any that's fine with me. Why start the name calling because someone chooses to express themselves with a little ink? | |

Just google her, I do. She would have been way much prettier if she stayed natural.
Now answering the OP question : huge turn off for me in general.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 3/1/2008 12:29:48 PM | | althought i dont want any more i wwill never regret the one i have it was very important at that time in my life and it is small and well placeed so i can easily hide it if i need to look more professional but i dont think women of any age need to think about where they are going befor get one i wouldnt want my kids teachers haveing biker tats so i guess it depends on what it is whrer it is and what you are doing with your life | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 3/6/2008 7:26:36 AM | | I like them. So long as they are well placed, well done, and not too colorful. I hate those chinese lettering symbol ones, and why dont you throw a Koi on me too even though I ma white girl from So Cal? Those are dumb. But for sure they can be super sexy. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 3/19/2008 7:38:51 AM | In my opinion, they are a turn off. I wouldn't date a woman with a bunch of tatoos. Especially a tramp stamp. Maybe one or two small ones on an ankle or back of her shoulder. But if its on her breast, it had better be a tatoo of a lollypop. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 3/19/2008 10:42:36 AM | | If it's one or two tattoos that are not huge and aren't tramp stamps either, then I don't mind, but if it's like damn near the whole body, then it's a huge turn off to me. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 3/19/2008 4:43:44 PM | Ink is ok. in my book. Just another form of Expression.
What will my grandkids think? Wow, my dad drew that!
Bikers and hard asses... You have a pretty narrow view of the world around you young man. Just for the record, the "Bikers" I know would give me the shirt off their back, meals, and a place to stay if they thought I needed it. Also know that many of those at which you direct your backhanded comment, served and defended so you have the right to free speech. Don't believe everything you hear on CNN or MSNBC.
Old saying "if I have to explain it you wouldn't understand"
