| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 8/21/2008 10:24:42 PM | One or two small one on a woman can be sexy, especially if they are mostly for her lover to see. I know I'm out of step with pop culture on this, but collecting oil paintings or bronzes is a far less painful way for one to be a patron of the arts.
I mean, Imagine a Goth Mona Lisa with a lip ring....just doesn't seem right. What if Paul Rubens painted a Harley logo or a dove on the ample flanks of all the women in his paintings. My point is that a beautiful woman, in the eye of the greatest artists in history IS art enough. I tend to agree. The last thing I want to see as I work my way downward is a litany of totems and advertisements for those who have gone before me....like billboards on a well traveled highway.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 8/21/2008 10:31:13 PM | | kmbrlyc1 makes a good point on the age progression. What was once very clearly a tattoo of a Unicorn leaping over the moon and stars will one day become indistinguishable from the garbled approval stamp of the state inspector on a cut of well marbled meat. | |

And she dresses pretty nice. But she wears low cut tops and her tattoo is on her chest just above her sagging breasts...with each year that tattoo is stretched and now is such that the artwork is beyond recognition! It looks like a big black inked picture of something that is unidentifiable and I have to say if I were her I would have put that thing somewhere else because everything she wears, however her hair looks, or whatever is lost by this huge blob of some kind of splotch on her chest/breast.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 8/26/2008 1:40:06 PM | | I am 40 years of age. I have always wanted a tat, since the age of 18. I was always with a woman, who didn't want me to get a tat. Whether I was married, engaged or dating. So I never did! Now I am single and free to do what I want to do. So, I sat down and thought of a tat that I wanted. I went down to Artisitc Addictions in Anniston, AL and talked with Turtle. He said he had the very design that I wanted and that he would have to take 2 designs to make the one. So he did and I did get it! This is my 1st and I am now looking for my 2nd. It really is an addiction. It is cool as hell! It is on my left arm near my shoulder and no one knows I have it, unless I tell them. Some women, this turns them off. That is there problem, they are missing a great chance to be with a great guy, but there are more fish in the sea. Now the way I think is, you like you stay around, you don't like it you don't stay around, it is your choice. All my friends didn't think I would get it, but I did! You should see it. I am going to post it on my profile. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 8/26/2008 1:50:41 PM | | I don't like them at all.... I don't think they are good on men either. What a crazy fad. I think a lot of folks are going to have huge regrets one day. As for piercings..... other than one or maybe two in each ear, the only other one I think is sexy is the belly button ring.... and it needs to be on a flat tummy. Another big turn off ladies .... flab hanging over those hip huggers. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 8/26/2008 4:19:24 PM | As a woman I think, it all depends on the placement, and tattoo itself. Personally, I'd never have one on my arms, neck, or legs. I have 3 now, the first one I got within a month of separating from my husband, he would never of "Allowed" me to get one. (also got a dog, he was against that too, lol!!) They all have very significant meaning to me, and are coverable. I choose to wear tank tops in summer to show mine cause I am proud of them. The last 2 I only got this past year & 1/2. 1st one was 10 years ago. I do want one more..lol!! I've seen so many that I like, and I've so many things I'd like to have done. But I don't want to go overboard either!! I do know there are times and places I'd rather not have them seen, simply because of how people judge
Personally I've had many compliments on mine from men I've dated, and their friends. I love them on a guy with the right build, I find them very sexy

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/21/2008 9:35:14 PM | It's a Turn Off for me. Tatoos are for bikers. It used to be one little buttefly near the belly button. Now it's way outta hand. It makes chicks look like crack whores. That is not sexy. It's become a trend, someone probably started it on TV, but the problem is these women are stuck with it forever. Most actually think they're great. Maybe it's because they're great on guys from a women's point of view. Same with smoking. When I see a girl smoking, they either have a masculine body language or they look nervous and sketchy like those crazy ladies with 20 cats or again like crack whores that need their fix. Again a turf off. Both of these things make women look less feminine. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/23/2008 12:00:48 AM | | Well, I for one, think they are living/walking art. I am 52 and I've had tats since I was in my late 20's. I've gotten a few here & there throughout my life - when the inspiration hit. I have 7 altogether now and am very proud of them all! I am a HR professional and keep them all covered up at work except the vine around one of my ankles. This shows when I were capri's to work with sandals. I am amazed at how many people have them. It is a personal choice. I don't feel negativity from someone who says they don't like them. One good thing about America - we have choices. I am a big cat fanatic, therefore, I have some awesome tats of tigers on me. I've yet to meet any man or woman (personally) that didn't like them. There are too many important issues to be discussed amongst us, so why not focus on helping each other out vs making some feel unimportant because they chose to get a tat! The old adage "you can't judge a book by its cover" is so true. I know many people with tats that would give you their shirts off of their backs or give you their last dollar in their wallet if you needed it. Let's be kind to everyone and be happy that we live in a country where freedom is alive and well. Our alternative is not a pretty sight! | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/23/2008 5:10:48 AM | Here in the US, I think that tattoos and rings is another thing that pop culture has sold, at first to the youth and then to the uhm non youths........like a " fashion statement" I try to judge a person on who they are and try to delight in the differences between us but as to EYEBONGOMON saying that tattoos are "natural" *LOL* that sounds like an odd statement to me, considering that men and women shave naturally occurring hair and dye hair color and get body modifications or augmentations though I suppose that it is as "natural" as the medium we are now communicating over
but i think that redefines the word natural

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/23/2008 5:17:19 AM | I don't find ANY tattoos on guys or gals attractive at all. The same goes for piercings of any kind (even ears). If you were meant to have a permanent hole or die in your body you woulda been born with it.
They're not like makeup, cologne, etc. which are temporary which I do like and find attractice. Tattoos and piercing are too permanent and too much of a mutilation for me.
Sorry, just my humble opinion.

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/23/2008 11:49:33 PM | | Turn-off for me, personally speaking, but not a big deal, or "deal breaker," by any means ... unless they've reached a level and/or are in a style and/or location I find grotesque. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/24/2008 6:49:20 AM | | To me thay are a turn on, as long as they are in discreet places and they are not covering her body. I also fill that a tatoo should be something that you can live with and has a statement of some sort. All three of mine are for a reason. I plan on two more and they will tell a story about my life. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn on or turn off Posted: 9/26/2008 1:47:04 PM | | I am a tatted "freak" and very proud if I may say so my self. I have about 7. A large one that is a work in progress (starts on the upper arm and wraps around the upper back). It isn't quite finished as we (the artist and I ) have to do it in parts. ANY WAY each one has a beautiful meaning and a story. Anyone who doesn't want to date me for it...blah. Oh well...their lost. I can care less as it's my body and mine to ink. I love tats. Love men with tats...but I am mored biased to people who have tats that have an actual meaning (not cus it looked cool/pretty). My tats has not affected my career (as an engineer in corporate America), my relationships, friendships etc. So let them turn people off. That's one less idiot I have to deal with. | |

| Tatoos on a women turn me on: Posted: 9/30/2008 9:03:41 PM | | Finally someone on here with sense. I can't believe all you guys hating tattoos on women. That really surprises me. I knew if I read a bit farther I would run across a professional artist and they would back us ' women with tats' up. Believe me, none of my artwork was done on a whim...it's a meaningful self expression of a particular artform. My whole arm is done so I'm not likely to be able to hide it even if I wanted to. Itook my son at seventeen to get his first one...call it a Mother/Son outing...and we got one together. His is a beautiful French cross, Fleur d Lis (not sure of the spelling) and took 3 hours . This was something he wanted for himself...I had very little input. By the way , I had all of mine done after the age of 40 and I'm not done yet. So here's to all the gals that display their tats proudly!!! | |
