Most of David Lynch's stuff is a little "different". Anyone know why he is so obsessed with American logging towns? Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks both set in the land of the loggers.

Also, pretty much anything David Cronenberg's done... Marilyn Chambers as a lesbian vampire with a venomous phallus in her armpit who turns people into zombies after attacking them, James Woods watching his hand turn into a videotape and then shoving it into a new orafice in his stomach, Jeff Goldblum pulling off his fingernails and puking on donuts before eating them, Jeremy Irons as twin gynocologists, James Spader lusting over fresh car crash scars on Holly Hunter's broken legs... and that's just off the top of my head.
There was a Canadian movie a couple of years ago, I think it was called Kissed, which was a necrophilia love story, about a woman who works at a funeral home who falls in love with her "client". More twisted than the average Canadian movie, which is saying a lot.

Oh, and The Reflecting Skin (that's one from the U.S.)... I haven't noticed anyone mentioning that yet.

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 9/1/2005 12:03:10 PM | I guess it depends on what your definition of "twisted" is. I've got a couple of good ones that no one has mentioned.
BAD SANTA might be the most twisted comedy of the last couple of years. It's a non-stop cursefest. Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Cox play a pair of crooks who work as a shopping mall Santa and his midget elf in Christmas season, so they can case the stores and rip them off. Bernie Mac is the security chief who figures out their scam. I would repeat some of the funniest lines, but then I might get deleted. The scenes with the fat kid are a riot.
FREEWAY. This is an indie film that came out in 1996. Imagine Tarantino scripting and directing a movie while high on crack, and this is what you'd get. It stars a very young Reese Witherspoon -- like you've never seen her before or since. It's basically a satirical update of Little Red Riding Hood. Reese is Vanessa Lutz. Her mother is a hooker and a her step-father a crackhead.
"Don't it bother you seeing your wife getting those guys off for money?"
"I make her use mouthwash when she comes home."
"You like that fresh minty taste, don't ya Larry."
Mom and stepdad are eventually busted in a scene that runs like an episode of COPS. Vanessa escapes from the clutches of the Child Welfare authorities and embarks on a journey up Interstate 5 to grandma's house. On the road she crosses paths with the Big Bad Wolf, played by Kiefer Sutherland. It's just an insanely wild film. Just wait for the scene where Reese -- America's Sweetheart -- is hooking in Tijuana and turns the tables on a dishonest john.
