| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/4/2005 2:01:55 PM | Hey,
I've read all the replies on this post and some of them where very interesting..some I agrees with and some I did not. If you really want to see a twisted movie I have a few that you may have a tough time finding but they are so worth it if you do:
1) Battle Royal parts 1 and 2: -This is a classic set of movies-basic premise: you take a class of high students and put them on an Island, only way off is to kill all your fellow classmates. Throw in exploding collars that can’t be removed without self-destructing, a Crazy Teacher and a time limit....I don't want to wreck it so I just gave a bare bones description of the movie but trust me..its great.
2) Suicide Club -Another really good movie, what happens when you get a really popular pop group (think Backsteet Boys), sabinable message in the lyrics and mechanise...mass suicide. The movie follow the trail of a detective trying to figure out why 58 school girls from different schools jumped in from of train all at the same time on the local subway system.
3) Itchy the Killer. -Random Violence, lot's of action & blood and cuts...think kill bill times 10
4) Irreversible -This movie is from France (I think) and tells the story of a guy and his best friend who brutally (I mean really brutally) track down and kill his girlfriends rapist.....I've got a strong stomach for violent movies but the rape of the guys girlfriend made me really quesy (its like 10min long). However the death of the rapist is even worse *(the guy gets what he deserves but they way they do it is really gruesome). Pus the movie is shown in reverse from the rapist death that night to the girlfriend meeting her boyfriend for lunch at the beginning of the day
Finally
5) The Passion of the Christ -Wow..we all know the story but geez...Jesus took one heck of a beating..I would have been crying for my Mommy once they pulled out those cat-a-nine tails....(it felt good to go home and watch the non-violent, super sweet, care bares when I got home with my little one.

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/4/2005 2:09:15 PM | | There's a lot of good suggestions here- Cronenburg, any Lynch, especially Eraserhead, but for me, what was a truly sick and twisted film was In The Company of Men. The thing about a lot of these films is that they are sick and twisted (which I love by the way,) but they are outrageous enough in plot or style to be able to remain somewhat disociated in my mind from reality, but In The Company of Men was very mundane in a way which made the psychopathic treatment of the poor deaf girl hit me on a very visceral level. I cringed through the whole film. | |

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/5/2005 2:05:13 AM | Boxing Helena.
that was definatly one of the most twisted weird movies I ever saw. every scene I just kept watching, thinking, "oh my god, someone actually made this into a movie...."
its about a guy, that gets obsessed with this girl, who hates him.
so he runs her over, and kid naps her. then to make her not get away, he cuts off her legs. then she starts fighting him cause shes mad he cut off her legs, so he cuts off her arms next. eventually, in a weird way, she falls in love with him, cause she relizes that she now has no arms, or legs, and no ones ever gonna love her, and this guy seems to love her, even without the arms and legs... so she I guess thinks "its better to be with someone then alone"
yeah, just a weird movie, from begining to end.
other good ones that come to mind...
Tetsuo - The Ironman...
been years since I seen that, but I remember scenes, where I think, he got infected with some weird virus, that starts turning him into metal... then something about him raping someone... after that, I can't remember much, except these insane visuals.
Pi - Faith In Chaos.
quasi-brilliant, half on the edge of loony. a guy, is obsessed with how Pi (the endless equation) relates to the bible, and goes nuts, once he figures it out. eventually, he took a drill to his head, to get the numbers out of his head...
I don't get how everyone thought Sin City was the most twisted thing they ever saw... I thought that movie was incredible. crazy story, beautiful cinematography, great pace to the story line. interesting quotes all over the place. the single colors over the black and white was cool.
but then again, I was probably alittle desensitized after seeing movies like "braindead" from peter jackson (his early work from new zealand) in which there are scenes, where a guys mom eats her son, and he has to crawl out of her .... well, you know where babies come from. to the scene, where the guy strapped a lawnmower to his shoulder, to grind up 100 zombies, in the bloodiest scene ever put in a movie, haha...
movies like sin city, don't seem gory, just fun.

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/5/2005 11:18:56 AM | | the director, peter greenaway, has directed some other bizarre movies..(too many to list...my favorite is drowning by numbers)...and written equally strange novels and dabbled in painting and opera and other arts and i am sure put an other worldly twist on all of them... | |

From Dusk till Dawn....was just bad...not Tarantino at his best.
Blue Velvet was pretty freaky
Clockwork Orange
Natural Born Killers
and yes...definately Boxing Helena.

Would have to agree with Eraserhead.
Anything by David Lynch.
Anything by Jan Svankmejer. His stop animation is disturbing and creepy....makes you go 'huh?' Check out 'Alice', Little Otik (some of my disturbed friends, were overly disturbed by that one) and Faust....

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas- Guess you have to be stoned to get this weird ass flick

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/6/2005 9:20:48 PM | I din't find Bully so strange. It was tragic, but not very unusual. I think KIDS was much more off the beaten path. And by the way, Nick Stahl is one of the worst actors in Hollywood.
The movie "Ruben and Ed" was a pretty messed up flick. It stared Crispin Glover and Howard Hesseman (Johnny Fever from WKRP in Cincinati).
And anyone who thinks that Bully is the most twisted movie obviously didn't see "Blue Velvet" with Dennis Hopper.

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/7/2005 6:33:57 PM | I think Eraserhead probably takes the cake, at least that's what I think.
Pi and Requiem for a Dream are pretty twisted, both good movies by the same director.
But yeah considering the time A Clockwork Orange came out, I am surprised it was even released. One of my favorite Kubrick movies.
If you are in the mood for something kinda crazy, play Echoes by Pink Floyd right as the title "To Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite" appears on 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is said that Pink Floyd wanted to do the soundtrack, but Kubrick didn't let them. Also at the end of Echoes you can hear voices from the movie, and the distant sound of monkeys...it's really cool!

| the most twisted movie ever made Posted: 10/7/2005 6:55:04 PM | The most twisted short film I have seen is David Lynch's "The Grandmother". It's on his short films dvd.
Lynch himself said it wasn't meant to be understood. Too bad I didn't know that before I watched it, because I thought pretty hard about it.
