I so often find, that men think that being able to cook puts them way above the crowd , on a pedestal!!!
I understand completely. It's equally annoying to me when a gal says she's shot her daddy's .22, thinking that makes her "stand out or unique."
Yeah, I cook, but I don't really give a damn whether that impresses a woman or not. | |

Men are just proud that they can cook.... ofcourse, I dated a guy that said he was an awesome cook and I cooked a few meals for him.. and he raved about my cooking.. but I NEVA got to experience his fine cooking! Ofcourse, I made him help me when I was cooking.. as I felt he would be a pro at beating the meet.... ! | |

I've always been the designated cook. Not that i mind there is something very cool about providing soemthing that is so essential to our well being.

I think my point was missed, if you are a good cook, why dont you say, 'i love to cook' my point WAS why brag? it comes across with arrogance, and generally those that are very good at something, anything , never claim they are the greatest! (well , muhamid ali thought he was pretty good)

I can remember two times in my life a man ever cooked for me and that's not mentioning whether it was good. I was just so happy he did. I have developed some hang up lately that I want someone to cook for me once in awhile. I can't say it's mandatory but I will admit it's a big plus. And...I can change my tire myself, fix the toilet and even put my own bandaid on my burnt arm using my mouth without help. The oil change is too affordable for me to consider doing myself. I say any man who has a desire to cook...bless em! | |

Paul Prudhomme' is GREAT. My cooking is INSPIRED. And I LOVE IT when a woman helps in the kitchen. It's a chance for conversation on an honest level; a little harder to lie when your hands are busy. If they show how domesticated and hence independent they are they will most likely get the girl.....
Guys... ya gotta be able to do a lot more than cook (outside the kitchen too)... great or not!!! | |

Posted: 9/5/2005 8:23:57 PM | I cook, and I like to think I do a decent job of it, but I don't 'brag' about it, it's part of who I am. I downhill ski, I climb, I fix computers, and I cook. They're all equal, I don't brag about either one.
Some women actually seek out men who can cook. My sister in law doesn't like to cook, and she met my brother, who loves it like me. My ex-gf didn't really like to cook, ate mostly take out before she met me, then I cooked for her, she loved it. After we broke up, she went right back to take out and junk food. So as good a quality as it is, it's no guarantee!  | |

The men I do know who cook seem to truly enjoy it. I admit, I'm no Betty Crocker myself and really do enjoy a nice meal cooked by a man who puts all his heart into it....very nice way to spend an evening for sure!! | |

they are just trying to show that they can step outside of traditional boundaries and have an appreciation for things stereotypically practised only by the opposite sex.
I agree: I hate the comments about sports and cooking. What about being able to bait a fishing hook with live bait (preferably a frog or something substantial) for the women. Now theres some stereotype defiance. What would be a good one for the men? | |
