and there is nothing worse than too much of any scent... if you can smell it from 10ft away u used too much, a dab will do u this goes to the girls too. | |

Posted: 5/24/2006 12:37:21 PM | I can't remember any specific brands or names, but I've always liked a medium to light, clean crisp scent on a guy. Maybe something that smells a little bit "soap-ish", or something with a bit of citrus. A classic bay rum cologne is nice; I think Givenchy makes a cologne called "PI" that's good.
Nothing too floral or 'perfume-y'; leave that to the chicks.
A good basic place to start is 4711-- it's a nice, light citrus scent. Boss by Hugo Boss is nice, too.
so, basically:
1. Better to go too light than too heavy.
2. A light, clean scent is harder to overload on, and well, just a fave.
3. To determine how much, I'd recommend asking a sister, wife or girlfriend of a friend, etc. for advice. At worst, you'll endure a little teasing, and where better to get the information than from the "target audience"?  If nothing else, if shopping at a department store, find a saleswoman and ask her opinion.
4. It's frequently worth it to spend a little more & get a more expensive cologne. They tend to have higher concentrations of essential oils, so *generally* they'll last longer (same holds true for women's perfume).
5. Remember, you're the one wearing the stuff, so find something you like first.

Posted: 5/24/2006 2:02:13 PM | | The right cologne, could make all the difference(weak at the knee's)..But it needs to go on lightly..its not an Air Freshner...around the neck, a little on the chest, and a dab on the wrist wouldn't hurt either....My top pic's are BLV Notte by Bvlgari, Alfred Sung, Drakkar Noir and Dolce & Gabbana..Dolce being my favorite, as that is the perfume I wear, and I believe they are the best!! | |

Posted: 5/26/2006 7:08:56 PM | Mmm Drakkar . . . yum . . . and Adidas . . . but Axe takes the cake . . . OMG . . . nothing like a nummy smelly honey wearin Axe . . . and it's not super stinky, we shouldn't be smellin you from a mile away!
For me . . . I like Magnolia from Avon, and White Musk from the Body Shop, and Morning Glory but forget who makes that.
I know this is a dude scent forum . . . but what about you guys? What do you like your girl to wear?

It's a very fresh and clean scent... kinda reminds of you of a nice spring morning.... weird... but it's also next to impossible to use too much of (so you don't get those... "what did you bathe in it?" comments if you accidently put 1 too many squirts.
I've had ALL my female friends comment about "wow you always smell so damn good" and I've had several (i.e. more than 15) random strange women tell me how good I smell (while at a store, in an elevator etc.)
Try it.. It's cheap too! :) About 75$ for a medium sized bottle. | |

If I can smell it more than 12 inches away, you are marinating in it, and that is a HUGE turn off.
I rarely wear perfume...I'd rather smell like my soap and shampoo instead! (I have yet to have a complaint  ) | |
