| What's your favourite quote? Posted: 11/18/2005 5:31:46 PM | All from Ruth Gordon as Maude in the greatest movie known to mankind, Harold and Maude:
"Everyone has the right to make an ass of themselves. You can't let the world judge you too much. You cheat yourself out of too much life."
"There are lots of people who enjoy being dead, but they're not dead. They're just backing away from life. Reach out. Take a chance. Get hurt even! But play as well as you can. Otherwise, you've got nothing to talk about in the locker room!"
"Dreyfus once wrote from Devil's Island that he had seen the most glorius birds! A few years later in Britany he realized that they had only been seagulls. But to me, they will always be glorious birds."
"Pray? No. I communicate... with life."
And those which sit on the back bumper of my car:
What would Scooby Doo?
Keep working: Millions on welfare depend on you.

"andato" can have different literal translations depending on the context in which it is used.

| What's your favourite quote? Posted: 11/19/2005 5:50:07 PM | - "God created man, and man, being a gentleman, returned the favor" - Author unknown
Almost any word released from the mouth of Friedrich Wilehelm Nietzsche
- "To live alone one must be a beast or a god, says Aristotle. Leaving out the third case: One must be both - a philosopher"
- "Can an ass be tragic? to perish under a burden one can neither bear nor throw off? the case of the philosopher"
- "You run ahead? are you doing it as a shepherd? or as an exception? a third case would be the fugitive. First question of conscience"
- " Are you genuine? Or merely an actor? A representative? or that which is represented? In the end, perhaps you are merely a copy of an actor. Second question of conscience"
- "The disappointed one speaks. I searched for great human beings; I always found only the apes of their ideals."
- " Are you one who looks on? Or one who lends a hand? Or one who looks away and walks off? Third question of conscience."
- "Do you want to walk along? Or walk ahead? Or walk by yourself? One must know what one wants and that one wants. Fourth question of conscience."

'Then you should say what you mean', The March hare went on. "I do", Alice hastily replied "At least I mean what I say - that's the same thing, you know" - Lewis Carroll
It contains a misleading impression, not a lie. I was being economical with the truth. - Robert Armstrong

| What's your favourite quote? Posted: 11/20/2005 7:27:23 PM | I think now, looking back, we did not fight the enemy; we fought ourselves. The enemy was in us. The war is over for me now, but it will always be there, the rest of my days. As I'm sure Elias will be, fighting with Barnes for what Rhah called "possession of my soul." There are times since, I've felt like a child, born of those two fathers. But be that as it may, those of us who did make it have an obligation to build again. To teach to others what we know, and to try with what's left of our lives to find a goodness and a meaning to this life.
I just saw it now, i think it was a sick way to end a movie, with a heavy quote like that
Platoon "charlie sheen, wilem dafoe, tom berenger, johnny depp"
