| Why do guys give cell phone numbers instead of home numbers ...is that a clue they are taken? Posted: 10/18/2007 7:52:45 PM | I live at home, and the people I live with HATE when I get calls all hours of the day and night from girls.
Being christians, they are already not amused that I am polyamorous, a hypnotist, among other things....I wonder what they would say if I told them some of the *places* I have *entertained* company
Yeah, it's privacy, convenience, and much mroe personal. Home phone is public property!

Posted: 10/19/2007 8:14:47 AM | | I would not give out my home number to any man I just met, I have two cell phone, I will give those numbers out...but my home number is different, I have kids, and even though they are older..18 and 20, they dont need to answer the phone to some random guy calling, its more of a respect issue to my kids, I dont have a man at home, and once I see where the relationship will go then I will give it to him. I also don't bring men to my home until I feel confident in what we have.

I couldn't see spending the extra money on the service and a long distance carrier that's required to avoid getting slammed. Not to mention all the solicitations that go along with it. Gentlemen get my cell phone number along with the schools, doctors, and work
Thats right! Everyone has the same # for me!
Why does there always have to be a reason to question or dout others?

Posted: 1/10/2009 9:47:03 AM | I don't know if the person I am talking too is a stalker or psychotic...that is why I won't give out my phone number. The only time it would be an exception if she and I are dating and there is a possibility of a relationship. But then again I don't give out my cell phone number to anybody just like that have to know who I am dealing with and if the person is on the same intellectual level as me before we exchange numbers.
I am just playing it safe because there are so many crazy people out there and have to be cautious.

| Why do guys give cell phone numbers instead of home numbers ...is that a clue they are taken? Posted: 2/2/2009 6:15:21 PM | Are we talking just on this site? If I'm gonna give my number to someone on here, I give my cell phone number because :
1- You don't know them well enough to know if they're a nutcase or not. 2- I live with my mother and her boyfriend currently. I don't feel overly comfortable with the fact somone could call and have them answer, until I get to know them better. I don't know. 3 -Texts
That's all I can really think of. I'm not taken.
if someone is acting shady in other ways that makes you think they may be taken, then that's different. But, giving a cell phone number instead of a home number is nothing. It's like the norm now isn't it?! It's the safest option anyway IMO.

2.It would be easy to get my address if I gave you my house phone #. Do I really want you knowing where I live right away? What if you're some kind of crazy stalker b_tch?
3.I'm never at home to answer it anyway. Working and hanging out with friends take up a lot of time.
4.My house phone is corded. If I do answer it, I am stuck in one place. On my cell I can move around the house or kick back in bed to talk.
