Yeah, well, whatever guys.If it's all symbolic,I find it interesting that the verse also instructs his disciples to carry money and extra provisions, something he had NOT told them to do before. He asked them first in this very chapter of Luke if beforehand they lacked for anything and they replied they lacked for nothing. That's when he told them that he was leaving and the situation will change.

While most religons are anti violence,I don't think any religon with common sense has anything against self defense.

Jesus was a good man and done many great works. All through the Gospels he has many disciples and numorous crowds following Him. With all the healing and kind and great things He did for people I don't think He needed self defense. Jesus didn't come to offend but offense will happen no matter what you do. Jesus knew this also that is why he said the father will be against the son. Daughter against mother so forth and so on. Jesus taught love above all else4. Love is patient. Love is kind. etc, etc.

From what is written, Jesus didn't offend nonreligious people. He offended the religious leaders who had religion right where they wanted it because He was upsetting that situation.

I think that he would cry for it. The church has become a very preverce, and sorry place to be. I was rased in church. Penticostal Christian... But turned my back on the whole thing becasue the church. They are one of the greatest influences on others, yet they act like a bunch of jackass'. Iv never been so mistreated in the 'world' then I have in the 'church'... And that makes me weep for the worlds condition. When even the 'safest' place has become just as bad as everyone els.
