Posted: 1/7/2006 7:29:28 PM | The problem with astrology is that our personalities are shaped by a multitude of factors. It's possible that the planets and atmosphere may have some affect when we are born but that would be minimal in my opinion.
To assume that astrology determines our personality is to assume that we didn't have any personality up until the moment we were born.
Personality traits can be inherited, learned, innate and always profoundly influenced by our environment and personal experiences.
Regardless of where the planets were at the moment I was born....I am 'too much of a Scorpio' to allow a simple astrological chart determine who I pair up with.
Is someone trying to tell a Scorpio what to do????

That's an interesting question... I've always heard that Scorpio's either get along very good or very bad with each other -- that there's NO in-between...
Sheila and I actually were soulmates and got along GREAT except her feelings for me were MUCH deeper than I was willing to reciprocate at the time. The sex was extremely gratifying up until nearly the end of our relationship when I met Carolyn who would then become my wife (now my ex-wife).
I sometimes wonder if I should've married Sheila instead -- but back then, I was still very promiscuous and was hardly ready to settle down. In fact, the only reason I agreed to marry Carolyn was that she was SO hot and beautiful (looks like Cameron Diaz -- but basically a trophy wife) and threatened to leave if I didn't.
Carolyn's birthday is May 30th -- that makes her what, a Cancer??? | |

I've dated many of the signs & thus far, the zodiac has been pretty strait-forward. I've even refused to read about it during a relationship, but when I read about it after, it was so clear! I mean really, come on, how did they know?!
So many different astrologers say different things about compatibility that this is what I've come up with (for myself at least):
Aries - Fire sign. Fiery personalities, stubborn, so she keeps me challenged. Both are naturally playful as well as passionate. Often a good match.
Taurus - Earth sign. Stubborn, but tend to have the kinds of curvy bodies that I like. Still, a bit more down-to-earth than I'd prefer. Make good & loyal friends, but not great lovers.
Gemini - Air sign. Many of the astrologers say this is a perfect match for a Leo, but I'm not so sure. Leos are all about loyalty & can be very jealous, and while a bit of flirting is harmless, Gemini often take it too far. Once an astrology chart told me that my Gemini gf would end up cheating on me... and she did. Self-fulfilling prophecy? Could be. Every Gemini I've been with has ended up cheating on me. That's not to say that all Gemini are cheaters, but I'm very weary about it. CAUTION!
Cancer - Water sign. Oh good gawd no! The reality of it is, I often tend to be attracted to Cancers right away. I find them sexy both physically & personally, and they can be very warm & loving people when they want to be. The flip side is, they can turn ice cold in 0.2 seconds flat & make you feel like you never mattered in the first place. Possibly the worst match for a Leo.
Leo - Fire sign baby! My dad is a Leo & my step mom is a Leo & they are a wonderful match. Often the astrologers say that Leos will compete for the spotlight, but I don't see that in them, I think they compliment each other very well, but they have been friends for many years, so they have practice. I've dated one Leo & we had a lot of fun together, but we were young. So I've put Leos on my list of good matches. We're good in bed too!
Virgo - Earth sign. Another match that astrologers don't like. I've never dated a Virgo, but I've been attracted to a few (and am currently attracted to a very hot Virgo). They can be playful & entertaining, but can keep a Leo grounded (which can be good or bad). Never let it be said that they aren’t passionate. Possible match.
Scorpio - Water sign. If Cancers are the worst sign for a Leo, my gawd Scorpios are a close 2nd! Often as soon as we meet, sparks tend to fly (be it in a good way or a bad). For some reason, Scorpios seem to revel in making the Lion roar! I've always felt that in bed at least, it would be one hellova roll, but then I had sex with a Scorpio & it was terrible. Of course, there were extenuating circumstances that could have caused that, so I'd give it another chance. Still, not good relationship material at all.
Sagittarius - Fire sign. Hot damn there are some sexy Sagittarians out there! Their playful nature & quick with not only turns a Leo on, but keeps him challenged. My best friend is a Sagi & I know that if we were gay, we would make a great couple (I feel I can say that with no threat to my sexuality). I've not had the opportunity to date a Sagi, as they seem to be in high demand, but I would probably jump at the chance. Great match!
Capricorn - Earth sign. I've dated a Capricorn & while we can get along & be excellent friends, the spark is just never there. Intellectually, they are wonderful people, but as far as relationships are concerned, they just don't hold a Leo's interest. I've also heard they have a tendency to be promiscuous, but I'm fairly certain that if they feel safe & loved, they wouldn't stray. Still, I don't see it as a match.
Aquarius - Air sign. If you can't dazzle them with intellect, confuse the hell out of them! That seems to be the Aquarian motto. Don't get me wrong, they are often very thought-provoking people, but their line of thinking is usually on a completely different plane of though than... anyone else’s! I've dated a couple of Aquarians & my sister is one also. I love talking to them & they make great friends, but any time I've ever dated one, I've never felt that they were actually there with me, they were off in their own world somewhere. They are intriguing people & Aquarian women are often very sensual (except my sister... eww), and will hold my interest for a long time, but I would have to say that in the long run, it's not a good match.
Pisces - Water sign. Finally, a water sign I can relate to! Pisces are very deep, introspective & sensual as hell. Sure, it takes a while to get through their seemingly detached exterior, but once you're in, you know you're loved. And passion, wow! The world only sees a quiet, albeit witty wisp of creativity in a Pisces, but when you truly come to know her for what she is, you find out that there is a deep well of emotion there that does not end. If I play my cards right, that well could sustain me for life. Pisces is definitely a possible match!
Ok, so there's my breakdown. Feel free to comment or just skip it all, unless it's too late, sucker! Keep in my this is my own perspective on the signs that has developed over the last 15 years or so & may not apply to all Leos. The reasons I posted it are 1) I'm a Leo & I love to hear my own words (I read it aloud to myself, it's fun!) & 2) maybe someone might be interested & use a similar model for themselves. Either way, have fun with it! Dating is just practice for the real thing anyway, so don't take it so damned seriously!
