| baby names Posted: 11/26/2006 5:00:12 PM | This thread has pretty much been 'beat to death' (in a nice way) and there seems to be soooo many 'one-off' names and several that sound like others with just the spelling changed. I saw a post waaaay back that reminded those of us choosing names to please consider the 'consequences' of the age range. In other words, reconsider using obvious 'CUTSEY' names intended only for a baby/toddler and then your child (who won't be a child forever) lives to 85 and may be stuck with a christian name such as Tristan.
But, the good news is that a name can be changed through Vital Statistics. The bad news is that you need to go through finger-printing and criminal check (if over 19) and today it costs about $137. ?.

| baby names Posted: 1/15/2009 5:25:09 PM | Gosh I just found this thread and have noticed that no one mentioned my son's name. His dad named him after the first ultra sound showed us he was a boy..
Seth Patrick---------- Seth is a very biblical name as he was the third son of Adam and Eve after Cain killed Abel. It translates to mean: the anointed one
My daughter's name is Ali Ann------------ Ali is derived from Elizabeth. My mom named the three of us girls with the middle name Ann. It is a tradition with our side and we all name our girls with the middle name of Ann, after my grandma.

| baby names Posted: 1/20/2009 11:56:14 PM | | just make sure that whatever name it is that it is SPELLED THE WAY IT'S PRONOUNCED or the child will have to be spelling his name all his life. and if you have a difficult last name well.... nothing like spelling your first and last name everytime you have to tell someone and do that for 75 years or so! | |
|
| baby names Posted: 1/21/2009 12:19:17 AM | | Wonder what she really did name her bub!!! ^^^^^^^^^^ gawwwwwwwd I agree!! A girl at work just named her baby Kymiah... totally made up name. To read, I think it looks like KY-meeah.. but she says it ka-MY-a. For the record... Biblical names I like include Rebecca, Rachel, Hepzibah, Elizabeth, Mary. Boys... Adam, Zachary, Joshua, Ethan, Noah, Zeke (but not Ezekiel) and probably a gazillion others. If I had a baby now (heaven forbid!!!!) she would be Gracie Maud, or he would be Dylan Jake. | |

| baby names Posted: 1/21/2009 5:08:12 PM | | Don't name your kid anything that says "pronounced _____________" after it. If you can't pronounce it right be reading it, your kid will be spelling and pronouncing it for the rest of it's life. Names like that really are not that cool...they are more of a hassle later in life then anything. | |
|
| baby names Posted: 1/21/2009 6:48:53 PM | Well you could do a Gwyneth Paltrow and name it moses lol
