For woman , same I like long ,short, even really short.
But It's all about the person underneath. Hair is hair and not really a main part of the person.
Just take care of your teeth though and keep a good hygien. But hair it's all cool. | |

I find there is a definate split with the women
some email and say they like me short hair pics
some say they think the long hair pic are sexy
so you can't win

Now I'm complimented all the time. Women even come up to me and touch it. They don't even ask they just grab and smile. I'm never going back to short hair!
Out of curiosity...How does one ask to get your hair cut into a mullet?
Do you say "I want a mullet"?
Or do you disguise the style and try to work the stylist through it? | |

Posted: 9/7/2005 7:34:10 AM | I am new to this site, and I have been reading this thread trying to hold my tongue...But I must give my opinion, since hair is what I do for a living. The value of my opinion will not buy you a cup of coffee, so don't get all worked up over what I say because it is just another opinion.
Once I got past the 5th grade and mother finally let me grow my hair out I never had short hair again. Only 2 decades later when that same mother died, I cut it off for her funeral because I knew that would be her wishes. Never been over the ears since.
I really do find it fascinating how women feel about long hair these days. I did a pole on Ma#*h.com, and I would say that 90% of ALL women checked off long hair as a TURN-OFF.
That has to mean that 90% of women in this society would not give me the time of day.
ALL WOMEN have the luxury of discriminating against men with long hair. Is it really discrimination....I guess that is just a matter of opinion.(coffee anyone?) Ask yourself this...If a gorgeous black woman came to me and wanted to go out, and I said no I don't date black women, would that be discrimination? If a gorgeous hot blonde with really short hair came to me and wanted to go out and I looked at her as though she was crazy and said, "I think women with short hair are disgusting and walked off, would that be discrimination? I personally am not attracted to black women. I also am attracted more, to women with long hair than short hair. But if the right black woman came along, I might go out with her. If a hot short haired woman turned me on I would ask her out. Now what just happened there. If I told a woman straight up I am not going out with you because your black.........I am not going out with you because you have short hair.........What would you do ladies????????
Or is all of this just a matter of preference? We are a driven society. Society in America is like a big pasture filled with sheep! And the big fashion shepherd dictates who we are and society dictates who the lost sheep are. This is one reason why I do hair. I am a artist. I can't change. I am not bought and sold in the market place to please society, so that the fashion trends seem supported and all men feel equal and cool.
I think the real truth is that most women, ecspecially the younger ones( which I am after) are more worried about what their friends or family are going to think if they bring someone home who is out of the norm. YES that aweful , aweful disgusting ole long hair. Something else that fascinates me is how someone can have tattoos of Satan all over their body and 32 bolts and piercing shoved through every body part imagineable to the point that Frankenstein would be jeolous, but yet, I the long hair am the disgusting one. Is this fashion? Well it obviously is...The same site that said 90% of women don't like long hair, also indicated that probably about 70-80% are turned-on by tattoos and piercings.
THE 80'S...Ah the good ol 80's....Most of you who criticize the 80's and throw me into that catagory don't even know what the 80's was. You were too busy sucking on milk or having your diaper changed to even know. You take what photos you can criticize and what your parents tell you and blow it out of proportion. Why does everyone label long haired men as Rock Stars? Or want-a-be's. This really does get old.
I thought we were a free society? I do realize that long hair on men is not for everybody...Please believe that. Some men look aweful with long hair. Some don't. Some women look aweful with long hair, some don't. Trust me I know. If a heart specialist gave you an opinion about your heart, would you believe them...Or would you trust your heart to your friends opinion?
WOMEN, LADIES...may I buy you a cup of coffee? Just remember this is just a thought, I am not picking on you or being mean, or sexist or discriminating. But I see every day in the salon women who are absolutely bent and pissed off because they can't look like so an so. Or their butts are too big. Or they just spent 150 bucks on hi-lites to look like jane-blow and now their pissed about the fact that they don't. But the biggest one that really gets me is, they walk out of the salon saying I LOVE MY HAIR, oh it's great, you did such a good job, almost to the point their going to cum, and then the next day, they call and tell you that you cut my hair crooked....Or you didn't do what I asked you to. I just can't style it the way you did...But she didn't have the money for products or a round brush or she doesn't want to blow dry her hair, it takes too much time. WHEN I KNOW, the problem is really that she went out for****ails the night before and one just one of her girlfriends in a real squeaky lil voice said, I liked your hair the other way better.....I don't like that!!! Oh boy, now we have a problem. Now I the hair artist am all of a sudden hammered dog-shit, and she tells 14.6 different people not to come to me because I didn't listen or I screwed her hair up.
Which brings me to another point. Do you know why we as a society have short hair on men? It's because life is too fast. We don't have time to style hair anymore. Men want to get up and go!!!!!!! And I don't blame them a bit. Absolutely, whatever works best for you I say.
But it is only my opinion to say that some of you women out there..(not all) but some are way to picky and finicky about yer whiskas...You kitties need to put your claws back in your pads and calm down a bit...and quit giving these men with really long beautiful hair a hard time.(I am not talking about myself....I am defending other men right now).
Don't be so blinded by what your scared of. One lady said something about long hair being all over her naked body. Well, how many of you women out there have really tried something you hate just once. Did your mommy ever make you eat a vegetable when you were little and now its your favorite dish? How many ladies out there have had their lil buttons licked on while rubbing a mans long hair all over their tits? Try it you might like it..
You women have the right to not like long hair on men. This is America. For whatever reason.
If you think that I am too serious about this topic...You may be right, you may not be...Because I walk in those shoes. I know. If a man stepped up to the plate and said I will not go out with that woman because of her hair....The first thing that would happen is that someone would go off and say you just are wanting to date someone because of their hair...Or you won't date someone because they don't have long beautiful hair like a teen-ager...Why don't you grow up and look at the person for who they are on the inside instead of just looking at their hair.

One thing I must add here as a side note., and this is not being racist here. But with regards to the "afro" hairstyle, a white guy should never ever have an afro hairstyle because that just doesn't fit on him. I think it just looks totally wierd. | |

But as one of maybe THREE women who weighed in for long hair: DON'T DO IT!!!
You mentioned women walking up to you and not asking before they touch your hair - that was my ex's biggest gripe about it, that people will invade your personal space like they have a right, because your hair is long. I'm sure he doesn't mind it as much now that he's single, though...ROFL. But when we were still together, I can't even COUNT the times we were out somewhere, and I'd be STANDING with him, and some chick would come up and put her hands on him. I've stepped between his hair and a drunk girl more than once, for which (back then) he was grateful. "HEY, when his wedding ring matches YOURS, you can play in his hair, K?" | |
