In my opinion.... YES! Each and every single medium is a fraud. I believe that there are some people who truly believe they are mediums. I believe they are incorrect. From personal experience dealing with psychics, and having once believed that I was some kind of "medium" myself. I grew up and realized it was all in my own head.

Everything exists on a continuum, including degrees of sensitivity...

We are all tuned (collective unconscious???) into energy, both in the physical worlds and beyond.

Too bad that so many frauds ruin things for those who are genuine.

Sounds kind of like dating also...

I heard on T.V. the other day, that they said Sylvia Browne is a phoney too. Now I'm starting to wonder, if any of that psychic stuff is even true.

Until one experiences some truth of their own, one questions the topic. It will always be this way on any subject not common place. I believe that some mediums, phychics, etc.. are totally for real.

But to put someone on a stage and ask them to perform is setting them up for a fall.

Can every songwriter write a song on a dime, any-ol-time we ask?

I have been to both types of fortune tellers - and the carnival fortune tellers are a hoot for the night. Take it for what it is.

I have had one exceptional reading in which the guy knew about something I had fragments of in my bottom file drawer. The same guy told my friend how to make hundreds of thousands of dollars on the stock market.... he did. Wish he'd told me that - guess it wasn't in My destiny.

On Benny Hinn - see the article excerpt and link in message 320 back one page...demon of "fraud"

As to most other self-described mediums, it's really a simple test for veracity. Look up "cold-reading. When they start to do this, they are fake.

I could understand a telepathic message having to come in symbol or metaphor once in awhile... but when every single message comes in brain farts so universal that they can apply to any single person in the room...well I think South Park's psychic investigator episode or John Edwards "biggest douche in the universe" award pretty much covers it.

If you can't produce some singular information that you shouldn't have access to WITHOUT prompting then you are about as psychic as the Kinder Surprise toy by my keyboard...

I have heard of such psychic events...but I would say they are quite rare and definately not among the famous ones.

Definitely not, but some have a special talent that would amaze you. Take Joni Mitchell - I watched a documentary on her once (way off topic), she described songwriting as "going into a trance" her husband, said that he couldn't even get her attention while songwriting if he had a bullhorn and held it up to her head.

Artistic inspiration can be a spiritual experience. It's as though we act as a medium, and the creative urges channel through us. I sat down one night, and from sentence, wrote an entire scene that started a fable book. I have no idea where the stories or characters came from, they were just there. That's how Lord of the Rings was written. All Tolken (spelling?), wrote was "a hobbit crawled out of a hole) and boom, he wrote an entire triology.

So yeah, I totally believe in mediums and spiritual influence.
