That baby (fetus means BABY in Latin) is your flesh and blood...along with the anonymous sperm donor's! A human being. A life. Who cares that you've not known the donor too long??? What does that have to do with the fact that you are now carrying a child??

The kid didn't ask to be born.
I am sooooo against abortion, but considering our adoption system, and the hell those kids go through, I think its better off not being born.
You aren't thinking long term. If you keep it and you aren't dating, then there are even more issues, what if one parent wants to move out of state?
I like the old days where you were shunned if you walked away from your responsibility to the child. Parents, even if they hate each other, if the cared ANYTHING for their child, then they would put aside their differences for the child's health..
Unfortunately, there is always one parent who refuses to work it out. That is usually the selfish one. Adoption only means even more of everyone's tax dollars going to support a child till he is 18, and allowing him to be treated like crap for not having parents and because the adoption system...IS CRAP. ...
And all that hurt, pain, and my tax dollars are wasted, simply because you met someone didn't use protection. (Both kinds.)
so how is it the taxpayers fault you didn't use better judgment?
Abortion.
Horrible as it is, use it.
IT IS NOT BIRTH CONTROL.
I wish they would tax people would have repeated abortions.

baby could have been aborted or died via miscarriage or stillbirth...
baby could be almost 4yrs. old now...living with original poster...
baby could be almost 4yrs. old now...in foster care or adopted...

Posted: 5/26/2009 5:25:11 AM | This thread is almost 4 years old but it is a topic that has been argued, talked, and the whole nine for years longer.
People are usually against abortion when they haven't been put in a predicament that would call for it. Sometimes, there are people who have views that are against abortion all of a sudden they find themselves in the 'family way' and then they are contemplating abortion.
Whether you are for or against it, the decision should be respected. Make your peace with God and move on. But my issue is with the people who do it multiple times as if it is a method of birth control. I know of two women who have carried on carelessly this way. They don't realize that eventually their bodies will not be able to hold what ever pregnancies they decide to carry to term. Some actually do, but not all. Of the two people that I know that do this are finding it hard to carry any babies to term. They are either threatened miscarriage or miscarriage. Only one of those women actually had a full term baby.
People are quick to judge when they are on the outside looking in. They also like saying that they would keep the babies if they ever came out pregnant unexpectedly. Most do. But find yourself in a situation where you were raped, very young, or birth control back fired on you and you are not financially prepared for this child and the father doesn't own up to his responsibility or the father is just as young as you. What would you do then?

I wouldn't get into that situation, problem solved. How easy to say that....but NO birth control is 100%. No woman is completely safe from unplanned pregancy if she engages in sex. | |

A side note; Not directed at anyone in particular, but whenever I see a comment from a jaded veteran post-er about the redundacy of a thread, I want to say,
"Okay, you've let everyone know how sofisticated you are, but a lot of people here are newbies, and want to participate in a new thread; not one that was started way back in the past. It's true that there's nothing new under the sun, but I think we're all entitled to explore a new thougth even if it's just new to us. After all, if it's a familiar subject to you, just move on for heavens sake!"
