| what were you like in highschool?
Posted: 4/9/2006 9:14:54 PM | In school I was quiet and shy with my classmates. I hated getting up in front of the class for anything and felt like I was going to hyperventilate whenever I was called to do so. I did what I had to in order to get by, and I was lucky that I was smart without really trying or ever doing homework and even graduated at the top of my class.
I never socialized there and I didn't even go to my prom. My two best friends were a grade ahead of me, and the rest of my friends, including boy friends ......were from the next town over. They were all wild and I loved hanging out with them but my mother was the most strict mother in the world. (God I love her and miss her now!)  | |

In highschool, as well as now... after I got to know someone and was comfortable with them, like my close friends, that was a little different!! But with guys I was attracted to........I remained shy for a long time, just as I do today! Believe it or not!!! double  | |

Posted: 4/10/2006 9:20:24 AM | I was the skinny little nerd with no friends that was very anti-social and shy. Now i'm totally oposite and have trouble shutting up.  I went to my 10 year reunion and got "Most Improved" haha..that felt great. Also felt great to see all of the popular mean and rude ppl in their lives. Not many even seemed even halfway happy (yeah i know its mean to say that heh). Us nerds had a blast that night.    | |

Posted: 4/10/2006 2:46:20 PM | I was skinnier than I am now. No facial hair and no glasses. Wore pretty much the same kinds of clothes and did the same things for fun as I do now.
I was technically in the "nerd" group, mainly because most of my hobbies just fell in that category so most of my friends were nerds, but could pretty much hang out with anyone, even the ones my other nerd friends mutually despised. A couple of my best friends were the some of the best athletes in my class, also hung out with some of the surprised-they-haven't-dropped-out-yet guys. I got good grades without trying and was one of 3 valedictorians. If I had to try, I know I wouldn't have even made salutatorian...(I realized that once I got to college)...study? What's that? As far as I knew in high school, it was that thing you did 5 minutes before a test if you thought there was something you might not be able to remember. Homework was also done in the period before it was due. Yeah, some college courses were fun, to say the least after gliding through high school!
I played some sports: basketball, football, golf. But never made varsity. I never devoted myself enough to be good. Guess I was just more of a "play for fun" type of person than one who wanted to go out and practice all the time. Played in the pep band for the sports I wasn't in. Haven't touched a trombone since, though. | |

I was kicked out of high school for a year, then when I came back (on my own accord), I told them I had completed my upgrading , and skipped a full grade and a half. They found out my lie just before graduation, so I got my diploma, but lost the honours. If I had to do it all over again.... I would have applied myself from the get go. | |

I dated a guy who played football, I had many freinds.. and was considered a bit shy but yet outgoing.....
Miss Canada from the previous year was my teacher for cosmotology....
I played intra murals at lunch time (IF i had too)LOL or football with my freinds
I loved ART so I drew everyone I could think of musta drove my freinds crazy...
I was known to set up teacher/student games of hockey on fridays...
I was always finding trouble...I recall one time having to sit infront of the class facing everyone because some guy kept tickling me and making me laugh...LOL
Another time forgetting my socail book and that same teacher said no problem..he came over slid my desk right beside his.. and made me read from his text book..I ALMOST DIED...I WAS SO EMBARRESSED
I recall getting mooned one time and I was laughing so hard I could not even explain what happened when I was asked why I was laughing...(trip to the office for that one)
I could write a huge list of events but won't...LOL
Science GROSSED me out..Yeck I still remember disecting things...
Louis B Hobson was one of my teachers he is now with the Toronto SUN Entertainment section...

Posted: 4/11/2006 3:09:16 PM | I used to hate going to HISTORY class and would often skip it.One day my HISTORY teacher told me as punishment I would have to WRITE.........''I WILL NOT SKIP HISTORY CLASS anymore and make every effort to show up on time and be respectful towards my classmates and the teacher"...........I was to write this 100 times!
I said, I'll write 10 times.........''My HISTORY teacher ROCKS!''
He looked me dead in the eyes and pointed his finger at me and said.......''You got a deal!'' | |

but to make up for that, I'm now annoyingly garrulous on campus. There's nobody who can shut me up

Posted: 5/22/2006 12:41:22 PM | man-o-man ... in highscool i was really quiet and shy and said nothing to anyone while in grades 9 and 10 ... didn't have a girlfriend till i was in grade 10 ..
then changed highschools and went to Lorne Park .. and figured i wouldn't let anyone push me around so got into a scrap the first week i was there .. and then another one later in the year .. but still stayed shy
then grade 12 i was back at my old highschool .. went to Applewood ... got into a HUGE fight the seocnd day of school ... was against the football team no less .. hehe
then the rest of the year i was dodging th vice-principal for skipping all the time
went back to L.P.S.S. and well finished the year relatively quiet
now i'm just a nut ... guess that's what happens when you have been quiet most the time .. you go crazy and lash out at the world .. in my case i make it HARD for the ladies | |

Well I'm just trying to think what made high school suck for me the worst...
Lets see:
1.I had a brother 2 years older than me that was a loud mouth jerk who always got beat up, so his reputation preceeded me at EVERY school I went to.
2.My family moved just about every year, I've been to 20 different schools and my family was also very anti social, so if it was to a small town, we were immediately singled out as "city jerks" and if it was a city we were considered some psycho family from the deliverance movie
3. I was a "fat kid"
4. and last but certainly not least, I was a Jehovahs Witness
So I was totally hated by everyone, all the time, even the teachers hated me because I wouldnt' stand up for the national anthem, or participate in any holiday themed activities. Believe me, I would have rathered people. Nobody wants to be "that fat B*tch that doesn't do christmas"
The only solice I got was no matter how much one year sucked, we'd move and I could re invent myself again and try again. So every fall, I'd find a new "look", and head back to school, sit in the back corner, not say a word and see how long it would take before I got my a$$ kicked!
Then from that moment on it was all just a practice of getting home without getting beat up. Usually I made it, by sitting at the front of the bus and running like hell to my front door when the bus dropped me off.
I wasn't allowed to do any extra curricular activities, no dances, no fundraisers and my parents never went to one parent/teacher meeting. School isn't considered terribly important by my old church. I never did homework after grade 2, and only went to school pretty much when I felt like it from junior high on. Usually missing about 3 months a year. Although I'm actually pretty smart and never had low marks, I always passed by the skin of my teeth, because of my attendance and that I never passed anything in, ever.
Things started turning around in high school for me actually. My first year of high school in grade 10 I went to the school where all the Jehovah's witnesses in my city went to. So I automatically had some friends that could protect me from constant physical attacks, and we had our own kind of "civil rights" system so we couldn't get picked on as much by the teachers, even though we did, we just didn't get suspended as much. Not to mention 8 of my cousins went there, all JW's too by the way, so I had a good unit of friends.
Half way through the year though I fell in with the "bad crowd" and my parents yanked me out of school, and I did homeschooling for the rest of the year.
Then in 11th grade I left the JW religion and got kicked out of my house and lived with a foster family. Instant loser status! Again! And at that point I lived in the country and went to a school with about 300 other students, so when I finally could go out and hang out with whoever I wanted, including guys, for like, the first time ever, I was labled a slut, and got beat up even more.
Then me and my parents reconciled just long enough for them to move me into a city and kick me out again, so I ended up dropping out of grade 12 because I lived in an unheated room in a boarding house with no money.
Stayed out of school for 2 years, and went back when I was 19, nearly 20 with my 4 month old son, in the "student parent" program, which actually was kinda nice, students loved my kid, I had a support system of other parents and all, and then I graduated with a diploma, which I valued more than the ged I could have got faster.
So yea....High School.....good times...Don't think I'll be going to any reunions seeing as no one would remember me as I moved too much and was barely there, and I had such a hate on for them, and them for me, it'd be like some sort of "carrie" remake, lol | |

Then a met a bunch of people who were like me, so we formed the loosers table & oddly enough we grew quickly in #s & we were hardly ever bothered after that. Now going home was still an issue that we all hated... College was boring.. no bullies, but I foundout my friend was attracted to me (it was a little hard to miss) so I had to switches classes, as I don't swing that way & I was with someone.. so I just did my thing with class & went home.
School was evil in my eyes.. But I'm less shy now & have learned far more out of school then I did when I was in school | |

Posted: 5/24/2006 3:18:37 PM | I was the cool, laid back, I'll kick your a$$ if you mess with me chick......My mom and dad were cops and I had four brothers so if you messed with me you had trouble coming....
I intimidated a lot of people in high school and I loved it when people feared me.....of course the friends I chose to be close to me knew who I really was on the inside but on the outside I was a badass.....lol
I used to get in anyone's face if they dared mess with me and mine and wasn't afraid of any senior boys or gals.......I had this thing going where I would tell people...."Just one phone call.....do you know who you're messing with?..........try anything and all it takes is one call......" Then I would put on the angry face and they would back off.......
Looking back I might have even come off as a bully to some but I was always there at the defence of the nerds...I hated when people picked on the nerds....so uncool.
All in all I had the best time of my life in high school, I wouldn't trade those memories for anything and all the friends I had then are the same friends I have now. Not like the 90210 hoochies who back then couldn't get enough of each other and the girls got passed around from guy to guy...all in the same group (yuck much)......now they all can't stand each other and I love it........
Oh and the nerds back then are the ones with the big fancy jobs and living life while all the hoochies and their swap mates are living in obscurity..... | |
