HMM a Gourmet burger . To me it's what YOU like. It might not be gourmet to some but its all about YOU. So, what ever you like on it, or in , its YOUR gourmet burger.
Use a combination of ground chuck for flavor and some good ground sirlion Of course with a fine bun with some good cheese you like , slice of raw onion, catsup, mustard, relish, tomatoe and lettuce. OPEN wide and enjoy

I've been playing around with my burger take on caprese salad. i call them "Caprese Burger Bites".

I take my burger and season it (I love Worcestershire sauce) and then make small patties and stuff two of them with a cube of smoked mozarella cheese (I just like the smoky flavor). Then grill them and put them as an appetizer with a slice of tomato, leaf of fresh basil then the burger. YUM. Big hit at our cooking contest at my family's summer home last year.

Forgot to add I've also been playing w/ a correct sauce to drizzle over them. Like a red wine or balsamic sauce...i've tried both ..any suggestions on that welcomed!

for a gourmet burger to die for....... take some minced aberdeen angus beef and mix it with some chopped coriander and some sweet chilli sauce (to taste). Put it on the grill and when nearly cooked to taste, put a slice of buffallo mozzarella cheese and a spoonfull of pesto, grill your bread,(foccacia for me) and enjoy!
