I have been on a few dates where the guys had a photo posted and needless to say...TAKE THAT CAM AND TAKE NEW PICS BOYS! Many post outdated pics of themselves as well. Few extra pounds...what do most think a few extra pounds means? | |

i am not concerned at all about these things; they are just interesting. It is always fun to read about people who find these things to be bordering on tragic though.
the " prefer not to say" on bodytype or marriage status ... makes for fun thoughts.
the prefer not to say about Kids then puts "yes" as the answer to do you have any. one woman wrote to me to tell me that although she does indeed have children, she doesn't want anymore.. she wanted to assure me that it wasn't that she didn't want her present children.. i understood as it sometimes does appear confusing.
the "little bit overweight" comment when the person is clearly obese if not hovering over morbidly obese. both men and women do this.
then all the comments from people who are upset that these delusional people have attempted to deceive them....these comments are even better than reading the delusional profiles.
having said that, my experience in being deceived/bad dates and all the rest is very limited as POF is not even 1% of my contact exposure. I don't 'use' POF exclusively. It barely registers. My town is quite small and people are not as fearful as those in larger cities. You may have good reason to be fearful and have little trust in people where you live. US citizens seem particularly more concerned as do Canadians from larger cities. there are nutbars in every city no matter how small. I do my best to avoid those. the nutbars... not the small cities. i like those.

The scary ones are also the ones that stalk you. I have had several of them here too some have picks and some don't. I too tend to stay away from no pic guys cause I don't trust them. like they all say no pics they are hiding something. | |

Posted: 8/28/2008 10:58:00 PM | Regarding the 'few extra pounds' category .... to be fair, pof doesn't give you too many options there - big and tall isn't equivalent to short and fat, and there definitely isn't an "obese" option.
Like a fair percentage of people I feel I have a few pounds I could do without (we're talking 10-15 here) but I chose "average" because I know what most translate that into LOL
In fact there a few of the main questions that could do with a couple more options imho. Oh, and forget not having a pic...what about the profiles that say "no smokers please" and when you meet you find out they are smokers? And drink "socially", what does THAT mean exactly ? As opposed to an antisocial drinker? = ) | |

I do not post a picture. I will email one to those who request it. I find it very presumptuous that everyone finds a negative connotation to not having a photo. I do work for a place that frowns on my space, facebook or any advertisement. I should not have to post to the world to date someone I might meet online. I also do not want to be harrassed by an ex who might see my photo. I am definitely not obese nor have a low self-esteem. I would not judge by this because you might give up something good. | |

I have heard time and time again, law enforcement people telling the public, NOT to place their pics on the Internet, period.
It is for everyone's safety. It is that simple.
I don't need another reason. So, why don't people listen?
Too much is happening today, to take such a high risk. Someone could see your pic, track you down, and only God knows what could happen.
Why are some people such risk takers?
I rest my case!
Please, people, be extremely careful. As I said above, too much crime is happening today. Hate crimes are everywhere.
Why DON'T you listen?? People are out there, ready to commit a crime, and you are just NOT listening to the Police. Why, again, I ask are you taking such risks? Why? | |

I tried to take a picture of me but I didn't have a wide angle lens. I'm actually 5'1 and 4'9. One of them is wide, but I forget which. How's that for a valid answer? | |

everyone looks alike anyhow, or pretty much so and do you really think that posting your pix is going to help a stalker to find you???? come on!! either you were in jail, have an ex wife or husband, or are running from the law or are way ugly or fat or skinny or just plum nerdy or whatever your excuse is, i dont know, but this one is LAME .
People are tracked down by their SS numbers or other means, very is anyone ever found through means of a mere pix.
