Posted: 2/25/2007 9:52:12 AM | A gentleman was kind enough to send me a mail yesterday and explain that I was incorrect in my assumption that pennance was 'rating' photos and led me to find the approve/delete section.
So far, I have put in 4+ hours and still clicking away when time permits ......

Posted: 2/25/2007 12:16:38 PM | Well if doing penance by clickin on approve/delete photos is supposed to be the answer to getting your browser back it hasn't worked for me?Spent close to 6 hrs off and on doing that...I don't think that works as i still have NO broswer button(and i never had any inappropriate/naked pics on my profile to begin with?) Is there "Someone-Anyone" out there that can at least tell me if/if not/or when i will get my browser priveledges back?? It's been almost a couple of months now? TY | |

Posted: 2/25/2007 3:29:08 PM | My browser button disappeared after I uploaded a particularly horrendous permed bouffant hair picture from 1993. If I remove it and promise never to inflict it on any more unsuspecting targets can I please have the button back? Please??? It's either that or I put it on my profile and you really don't want that to happen.

Posted: 2/26/2007 8:24:52 AM | Hi Larra. For that particular sin I personally think that your punishment should be over a hundred hours of community service (on your profile or not, your picture has been seen). Face it girl, you just plain bad.
Actually I am not sure if the moderators are really aware of what’s happening. I personally admit guilt (a wee bit worse than yours,) but was reinstated with just a few hours of penance. I have noticed and received letters to the effect that some people have done much more penance than I without any results. I suspect that a cold, unfeeling program is behind the browser button loss. It/she looks only at how many times you have had a photo rejected and for what reasons. Penance plus possible public admission of your evil ways,(maybe a letter to a moderator) might be factored into another program in charge of reinstatement. I am sure that it is more complicated than that, but you get my drift. However, I see no hope for Larra. Now I am going to have nightmares, thanks a lot. | |

Posted: 2/26/2007 11:34:23 PM | Well I had my picture deleted today and uploading privileges taken away without even a warning apparently my head wasn't fully visible, funning how that happens here. As others have said I've seen much worse then mine yet they still remain we all should start reporting the offending pictures and see if they listen to our request to remove those pictures.
Now its not very clear as to how the picture is to be it says HEAD SHOT does that mean back of head or top of head is ok do we need to comb our hair a certain way ladies maybe a certain color of lipstick is required I'm not sure my guess is post and find out.
In your case it was probably because your pic was a "web pic", and your previous one was a "cartoon". | |

Posted: 3/4/2007 8:56:52 AM | Just another "heads up" to the Mods and the Big Fish. When using the "Rate New/Any Images", the only rules that are posted with this feature are
Help Make Plentyoffish Better
1. No nudity Allowed. 2. No Cartoons Allowed. 3. If a image needs white space to be cropped click on "needs cropping .
You also have 3 buttons that you can use ,,,,1. Nude/Delete,,, 2.Cartoon,,,,3.Needs Cropping.
Now,,, no where have you defined in this feature that "head shots" are the only pics that should be on your profile. Just suggesting here, but if you only want "head shots" only on the profiles, why would'nt you at least post that ONE rule alone???? I'm sure that ONE rule alone would stop a lot of confusion for a lot of people when they are using the "Rate New/Any Images".
In fact, right now, that ONE rule is NOT posted on this feature. Which makes me wonder why my uploading feature has disapeared???? At no time, have I ever had a nudey pic on, no cartoons, and no cropping. Again, I suggest that this feature has some hidden failures in it, and there is the opportunity for some abuse of this feature,,,,,,deleting pics and uploading privileges without any accountability to the people that are doing the deleting. And I would also suggest, after using this feature for a couple of hours here and there, that someone should find the true definition of "random" when relating to this feature. I just finished deleting the same "cat" and "dog" pics easily at least 4 times each. Now,,,if I can do it, I'm sure there are a lot of other people that can do the same. Eg. deleting the same pic,,, just for the sake of it, even thou Mod comments here have said that this is not possible.
Just wondering how long I have to keep scratching my head wondering why my "uploading" feature has been taken away is all???? Would I be better off trying to contact a Mod directly???? Thanks in advance,,,,again. | |

The must be a visible shot at MINIMUM
UPLOADING NUDITY WILL GET YOUR ACCOUNT DELETED
You can upload up to 8 images, you may keep these images hidden from other members by selecting not to display them on your profile.
Make sure the image isn't too big or it won't upload.
Cartoons, celebrity and Joke pictures are not allowed.
Make sure the image is in JPG, BMP or GIF format.
You can share these private pictures with other members when sending them a message.
More help for Add / Change / Delete Images Allow others to rate your image
ALL pictures MUST contain you in it with a visible head shot at minimum
If you have recently had photos deleted from your profile/been flagged when you deleted a photo or something along those lines you have become flagged in a sense for posting not acceptable photos.
Note: you may have had those photos on here a while with no problems but the cleaning crew is in town and they are being cleaned up.

Forum Mods have no access to profiles, or any site features that aren't "Forum".
And, admin isn't going to discuss how his filters are set up, that info is proprietary to admin, he

I know it is posted THERE, but it that ONE and SIMPLE rule is not posted on the "Rate new/Any pics" feature, which, if it was, would make things a lot simplier for ALL to understand and eliminate the abuse of this feature that I think is happening right now. There are previous posts here explaining that they had no nudes, cartoons, etc, but they still have had their "uploading" feature eliminated with no explanation other than using this new "Rate new/Any pics" as the reason why the "uploading" feature has been eliminated. I also have contacted by a few about the elimination of their "uploading" feature without reason. I know the Mods and the Big Fish have/are having problems with some pics, but it seems(by the previous posts) that this "rate new/any pics" feature is going a little sideways at the present moment.
And you voted the same way each time?
Yeppers,,,,do you see the failure here???? Cause, I can. If I can do that, they I can potentially "pick" on someone's pic therefore, getting their "uploading" privileges eliminated, as one of the mods says will happen if the data base gets the correct amount of numbers deleting a certain pic.
I see quite the opposite, the reappearance of pictures that have been rejected by others helps establish a pattern independent of user "bias" to anything other than the upload guidelines. Considering that invalid pics are identified by patterns, this makes good sense to me. As for "pick on" someone's pic, as you can't know the profile of the "someone" in via the pic vetting process - where is the "targetting"? re: "someone"?

Posted: 3/4/2007 11:14:03 PM | I understand the issue with the images and can see the purpose behind the rules. I was unaware.. my mistake... MEA CULPA. I had very nice northern light pictures along with my own pictures when I lost my browser button nothing 'bad'. It has been over 30 days and I have done 10 hours of penance and I have learned my lesson and will never do it again. Please may I have my Browser Button back? Or at least tell me what to do to get it back. Thank you..

You may not see it, but because there is NO accountability at all with this feature, anyone can push delete on any picture they would like, and if they would like to spend enough time on this feature(which a lot of people now are doing) the number of times a certain pic is "red flagged" in this program can add up fairly quickly easily by just one person. Therefore there are people now without the "uploading" feature, again for no other reason than this "rate new/any pics" feature. I can show my user "bias" as you say, just by using this feature for more than 15 minutes,,when the same pics start repeating themselves,,,,so bias is very possible. Eg. Certain people that do not like other types of people. You, yourself Late, know that these different "types" of people do exist, having to deal with them as a Mod.
And I was just wondering, if any of the Mods know if our "hidden" pics are being thrown into the "rate new/any pics" or is it just the pics that are on are profile??? | |

I do have pictures up and only one had my face somewhat not visible, big glasses and all.
The problem is, and I have had no problems uploading in the past, is that the "browse" option to access my files in my computer is not there. It used to be there, but I have been away on vacation and this situation only happened upon my return.
The page after choosing "images" ...looks like this...with no browse window.
Any help would be appreciated...

I see your photo in your profile as a narrow slice. I attempted to upload a picture the other day that never went above the chin no matter how many times I tried. (only the bottom quarter)I even lowered the size to a small fraction of what it originally was. I then expanded the bottom to make it totally square. Each time it would load to the same spot on the chin. Ultimately I gave up and simply loaded a completely different photo.
Maybe you should try a different photo...And by the way you risk loosing your uploading privileges by not have a face on your picture...see the new rules...your call | |

Posted: 3/12/2007 11:46:30 PM | It's been 6 weeks of good behaviour and penance and public humiliation. Is there anything I can do to get my picture privilege back?
I feel the system in place is very discriminatory and I don't feel that the punishment in this case is befitting the 'crime'. If this was a uniform action across the whole of the site it would be easier to understand but when I continue to see numerous noncompliant pictures that have been around a long time I can't help but feel that myself and others are being unfairly penalized for a mistake we didn't even know we were making. I also notice that our city seems to be harder hit with this rule than most of the others for some reason.
In keeping with the subject there is also the number of pictures allowed. I will quote...
The limit used to be 16, those who had 8+ images when the limit changed were allowed to keep their images.
From what the mods have written this is due to the fact that these are older profiles only. If that's the case then why do I see one that joined on 09/06 and there are 10 on that profile? This person joined after I did and yet they have 10 pictures.. why is that? There are others also so why the special pic privileges for these people?
I can understand that this is a free site and all but does that mean that there is only fairness for some and not all? I hope someone takes the time to look into this for it will only make the whole site run more smoothly if the rules that pertain to all are really there for all. | |

They are using a "trick" to fool the upload feature and bypass the limit. Just report them via the proper channels (Forum Mod account or "Report User" link). | |
