Posted: 3/16/2007 5:38:46 PM | | I only had 6 pics on my profile. I wanted to add one more - I couldn't find a "browse" button that used to be there. So I figured maybe the max no. of pics had been lowered; and so I deleted one of my pics - now there are only 5 - and still no browse button. What am I doing wrong? I have no nudity, or cartoones, or weird stuff - just good head shots, and now I deleted one of them - can I at least get it back?? If this is a case of losing pic privileges, what do I do to regain it - and how long do I have to wait? | |

I have 32 of them, and no one is naked! Please let me know what size you would like me to reduce them to and I will resize them accordingly.

Posted: 3/18/2007 8:54:45 PM | I was under the understanding that the get together thread had a picture link in it. In the origional post. I think that only the host can see or access it, but I'm not very sure about it.
It may be easiest to mail a mod for clairification on this.

Posted: 3/21/2007 6:18:01 AM | It sounds like what has happened is that your picture was not with in the rules of POF. The photo must have your face in it. It may not have a web address in it, and neither can your profile. No email address is allowed.
So what happens when a photo is caught that breaches the rule, is that your upload privaliges get taken away. If this is what has happened to you
Just to note, if there is a web address or email address in someone's profile and the filter picks it up, your entire profile gets deleted.

Posted: 3/21/2007 1:39:52 PM | If you go to the Rate People page of this web site, you can offer to rate any new pictures. That allows anyone to have an opinion of the picture meeting the 'rules'. I'm not sure how many people it takes, rating a picture for deletion, but after several do, I understand the picture is deleted.
This feature was not available prior to /06 (if I remember correctly) and therefore many older profiles like mine did not go through the discriminating eye of the voter. But if I upload a new picture, that picture will go through the vote.
So many profiles you see breaching the rules, will be older profiles. If they get reported then their picture will probably be taken off as well. The 'report "****" user' is just below their 'contact "****"' on their profile.
To see that feature a user must be signed into the site, not just browsing.
I do hope this helps answer your questions, and explains the differences in profiles.

Posted: 3/21/2007 9:42:57 PM | To add a bit to LL's post. Yes thousands of photos out there don't meet the current criteria for posting, but remember that this is not a pay site. The few moderators that patrol the forums are volunteers. Most of the running is automatic, through the use of programming. The use of ourselves to police what is currently allowed is the price of no price. Furthermore this site offers the ability to express yourself in much greater depth than any other that I have looked at. Yes I've had photos deleted for no apparent reason and have even lost my browser button for awhile....but I think this is a great place.

Posted: 4/3/2007 8:53:23 PM | I personally delete all photos that do no include a face shot at minimum. In an effort to to comply with the new site policy regarding a minimum face shot in the photo.
Tonight I voted to delete dogs, cats, horses, some torsos, and a boob shot. I did my good deed for the day.
If your puppy shot was deleted it was because you were not in the photo with the pup. As for the various other unsightly photos still in existence on the site prior to the new rule and it will take alot of time to get sorted out. But rest assured eventually more and more will vanish.
To ensure compliance for repeat offenders they have their upload priviledges taken away. Hence the reference in other threads regarding NO BROWSE BUTTON.

I'm fairly new on this site and have a question reguarding my image upload button. I did have 8 pictures on my profile, of me, my bike, a picture of me gardening when i was a kid...I did also have 2 funny pictures up there as well, just showing my sense of humor I guess, but they did pertain to my interests. ..and there weren't any nudes or pictures of that sort. Well now, all of my pictures have been automatically deleted except for the 2 pictures of me. ...Also, my upload button had disappeared and am unable to upload any pictures at all.
