| FAQ - Profile Image Problems / Instructions to Upload

I've been experiencing troubleshooting uploading pictures since last night.
They are no nude shots, not too large and are all JPEG so I'm not sure why they won't upload. I've even tried deleting some and putting them back on and it won't upload either. Any suggestions?

Posted: 6/9/2007 4:32:53 AM | I tried to add a new pic to my profile - didn't get any errors, the pic doesn't break any content or size rules and I have tried to upload it as a jpeg and as a bmp - but no go no matter what I do. It just won't take. There are only 3 on my profile now (there were 4, I deleted the oldest one and was trying to put up the new one as the 4th).  | |

still can't upload images!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (onto third day of this now.)
getting frustrated...
yet i know i am doing everything properly (and according to site rules /regulations) .
fix this problem please mods!

maybe you need to hire a couple more staff to help lighten the load.
just sayin'...

Posted: 6/9/2007 9:42:39 AM | I've tried to upload my pics several times. They fit the guidelines, are the proper format, aren't too big, etc. They simply aren't showing up.
When I click on upload it processes for a few seconds and then goes back to the upload screen, no picture.
default gateway is 192.168.0.1
dns is 192.168.2.1
Help please !

Posted: 6/9/2007 9:50:47 AM | Yeah, I tried to upload a image (a headshot) of myself multiple times, first I thought it was the browser, so I tried netscape, IE Explorer, and AOL. Its the site. When are you fixing this problem. I had three images on the site before, so I thought if I deleted the three images I could get three more, now I have no images. Please fix this problem soon!!!!  | |

300 Pixels wide by 299 Pixels high is the smallest size you can upload and still get maximized Profile Image Area Display. In JPG format, its around 15 - 30 KB's ... very small.
I'm sure it'll be fixed in a day or two. It might just be a full disk, there's no way for us users to tell.
The Admin has confirmed there was a problem, but it has been fixed now.

Hard Disk was in Fact full, along with a "Write Permission" Error.
The Latter causing Delays to rectify.

those were taken from the status bar on my router homepage... and i didn't figure it had anything to do with it but doesn't hurt to give more information than needed

If the Pic Upload Server's Hard Disks are full or near chock full, the best Chance you have to get your Image up is to make its File Size as small as possible.

| Deleted image...
Posted: 6/9/2007 8:55:02 PM | My main image was recently deleted... it was a non-copy written head shot of me.
The only thing about it that made it at all different was that it was solarized. I liked my photo, and the rules do not state that we can't use any sort of photo editing- according to the "image posting rules" my photo was not a violation... yet the message I received says that if I'm caught violating the rules (that I wasn't violating) again, I will lose my right to post images.
I'm a little irritated that it was deleted... but my main point is that if you don't want us using darkroom effects (or more common digital effects), please state it in the rules to avoid unnecessary confusion.
