| PICS: Profile Image Problems / Instructions to Upload
Posted: 3/11/2008 11:08:00 PM | I tried to upload a picture but the browse button didnt make a box pop up for me to search. Any suggestions? I thought it might be my firewall but I turned it off and still nothing?!?

Posted: 3/18/2008 5:54:56 PM | So i decied to remove few images that were sort of distortted and put one photo instead. After deleting the images i had i failed to upload the new image. The image is right format and size. Then i tried the images i removed from the profile same result the page was loading thatn it refreshed and no new pictures were downloaded. Please help.

Go back to the start of this thread, and read, click here --> Post / Message #1, and it will tell you what the valid types are - a word document is not a valid type.
If I send it to someone, can I have it added to my profile?
Post / Message #1 of this thread, also tells you that - NO, the site does not accept photos to be emailed.
What you may be able to do, with the very least available resources and applications that you should have is:
- open yout Windows Paint program
- open the word document and click on the picture so that it is selected
- right click on the image
- select copy
- go back to your paint program and select paste from the edit menu
- save that new paint file as a .bmp
- you may have to resize the .bmp file that you have just saved to the same dimensions as the picture though.
- select image from the menu bar, then attributes, and fiddle with the size till you get it right
- this may be the crudest method and resolution may be bad, but at now you have a file format that you can upload.
- the Windows paint program isn't the best suited for this, but you should have that app at minimum
Give that a try, if there is absolutely nothing else at your disposal.

Pictures can be contained within various File Types, incl. Word Documents, PDF Files, even AVIs.
The Images need to be extracted from these File Formats and saved to one of the exclusive File Formats for Images as qualified on the first Post on this Thread.

I have made my photo showing my face smaller and smaller , but still it will not upload all I got was......
There was a error uploading your image. So I take it there has to be a problem as if I make the photo any smaller it will look stupid.

I have only one image in my profile, and the images I'm trying to upload are jpg format and only a few kilobytes in size. I tried logging out and logging back in, also tried with several different images. Still no joy... | |

I have tried to upload the photo in firefox and IE7. I have tried logging in and out several times, as well as clearing cookies, cache etc.
Also for the hell of it changed the format to .gif to see if that would work, no dice.
Any help is appreciated. | |

You are running the SeaMonkey 1.1.9 Browser. Check that Images are not blocked in your Image Manager or by its Ad Blockers.
Use another Browser to check if the Problem still exists. |

The image was just me skiing (fully dressed of course in a normal ski outfit) and all I can imagine is that because of the ski cap and goggles not enough of the skin on my face was showing? I've seen a lot of photos with hats and sunglasses so I'm not really sure if wearing the ski hat and goggles was the reason or it was deleted by error. It was a fairly close-up shot of me...just the waist up and you could make out my smile... | |
