| Image Problems Posted: 7/24/2008 3:39:06 PM | I've trawled through the info mods, so please can you give me a proper answer rather than a link to another thread about the rules and regs.. I've read them!! Then read them again as they encompass virtually all Possibilities.
Is it that other POF users are reporting them for some reason?? Nothing to worry about if your Pics are in Compliance.
I see that many profiles have pics don't have them in at all... Report them like Everybody else. It may take a little Time before they are nabbed, have their Upload Privileges revoked and come to the Forums whining about it.
I'm really annoyed, biking is my passion and I'm proud of the pics of me out doing what I love best. Then make sure you are clearly recognizable.
I've uploaded them again so maybe someone could take a look and tell me what the problem is.. The "Looking" is done by you.

| Image Problems Posted: 7/29/2008 2:38:37 AM | I thought I'd read somewhere that so long as your other pics were directly related to you and your life then that was fine so long as you had full face pictures aswell in your profile which I do, infact 3 of them!!
I'm not petty enough to report every pic I see that doesn't have the owners face clearly in them, unless offensive. How many cleavage or pec pics are on this site without a face.. hundreds I'd wager. Also there are alot of bikers on here with pics like mine of just their bikes or them riding their bikes. Funny, I don't ride my bike without a crash hlemet. There are also lots of people with pics of their pets up too without themselves being in the pic.. I'm hardly going to report them either.. that's just daft.
Anyway, thank you for your replies.

I found it! It's on one of the links above from a plenty of fish moderator on a thread asking similar to me.. the answer was..
'The pic should have some direct relationship to you, and you must be the sole unique owner of it, as intellectual property (and this must be obvious).'
To me, that tells me that the pics of my on my motorbike and in fancy dress are absolutely fine to be on my profile.
Do you concur? | |

| Image Problems Posted: 7/29/2008 5:29:22 AM | You're quoting something that is historical to which you may have also missed the point and context , or that it may not have been fully qualified - never the less - what appears on the main site, specifically on the Image Upload page is the main rule.
ALL pictures MUST contain you in it with a visible head shot at minimum
If it isn't visible - do not be surprised to see it go. If you must, get a shot of you sitting on the bike with your helmet in your hand - bottom line effect still rendered.
Same with your last shot - headless body - get rid of it, or does the above not sink in?

|
| Image Problems Posted: 7/29/2008 8:32:54 AM | I was merely quoting what is in the thread that you posted a link to for me to look at which I did!
Yes the above does sink in and I have deleted the last pic, no need to be rude.
So let me get this right though, you can only report a profile if the MAIN image doesn't show a clear head shot, you can't report individual pictures on someone's profile. I'm sure you've seen yourself the amount of people that have pictures of their cars, bikes, pets, torsos etc that have no face in them at all.. I really do not see what the problem is so long as they have other pics of themselves that are not offensive, stolen and or nothing to do with their hobbies, passions and or who they are.
Funny how pics of people practically naked in skimpy underwear is fine so long as you can see their faces.. not to mention the apalling English
Anyway, I like this site but I wanted to question this and you have answered me, many thanks.

| Image Problems Posted: 7/29/2008 3:47:54 PM | I just received notice that my photos were removed as they did not follow the guidelines.
Both images clearly had my face, which was unobstructed in either of them. One photo was black and white and the other was in colour. Is this an automated feature that removes photos that were reported, or was there a human being behind it. If it was the latter, I would like to know the reasoning behind the removal of both photos, which fell within guidelines, especially considering there are photos out there that are less visible than mine.
Thanks. | |

All images are manually removed by either Admin/or hs staff of "one" and you will not get an explanation.
Suffice it to say that Moderators don't know, as we do not have access to removing them or seeing what what was deleted. Unfortunately, everyone claims they were perfectly fine, where in reality they're not in 99% of cases.
Study this post Recognizable Headshot Criteria and the subsequent links in it.
best that we can offer at this point.

| Image Problems Posted: 7/29/2008 4:14:35 PM | Well, both images are back up on my profile and you're welcome to look for yourself. They do fit the criteria. It's sad to see that people can remove images at will with no recourse or reason.
Thanks for answering though.

| Image Problems Posted: 7/29/2008 10:13:39 PM | | Hello. Great site, thank you. Anyway, I've tried to upload an image (48+ hours ago) and it's not appearing. I think it's in compliance (a small JPG head shot, somewhat grainy, but obviously a face - mine - contained in a file that's no more than a few KB). Just wondered if I might have inadvertently violated some policy or if it's possibly some kind of technical issue. Thanks. | |

the image is in jpeg
unless you're just mistyping the actual file extension here - that's no good - has to be .jpg not .jpeg

| Image Problems Posted: 8/5/2008 3:36:59 PM | This link is useless.
given the other info you've provided, the link is only useless if you don't comprehend the following quote from that link ...
Profile Pics: Image File SizesAs a Rule of Thumb do not upload any Images which are less than 100 Pixels on any Side. This is one of the common Reasons User Pics are deleted, when the same Image previously uploaded successfully. To be sure no Pic-Size Issues get into the Way, make sure they are at least 200 Pixels on any Side.
suggest a larger pic ...
the picture doesn't upload. the image is in jpeg 128 X 96 . What am I doing wrong? have you tried at various times like off peak hours, mid morning, mid afternoon - traffic is heavy and that may affect uploads ...

|
| Image Problems Posted: 8/5/2008 5:04:13 PM | This link is useless Probably if you just tried to upload the same Pic again after reading the Link.
Beyond this Point you are in your own Maze in Respect to other Possibilities in the Links below which could prevent Image uploads:

What I don't understand is there are a ton a pictures that I have seen everyday where the guy has no face in his main picture but those still remain on there page. So I would like to be explained to why my pic where it did show my face got deleted and people who have no face showing still get to keep there's?
