Posted: 4/24/2009 9:28:44 AM | Okay I found what the issue is....I had a pic of my new belly button piercing that got pulled by POF, there was no nudity, you could clearly see my shirt, and jeans...I thought this rule applied to the Main Profile Pic...
Per POF...
If pics were removed from your profile by the automatic system or manually by the administrator, your profile may have lost its picture-uploading privileges.
My question is how do I get privileges back? Pleeeaasse :)

Posted: 4/24/2009 9:52:18 AM | Ok, I give up. I'm a long time software developer in the video application space, so I'm no stranger to image types, compression, and formats. I've already uploaded 2 images which display just fine, but they were taken with my digital camera, which natively saves in JPG format. I now have a 3rd pic that I took using my cell phone camera (Motorola V9m - Verizon), also saved as JPG, and the sucker just won't upload to the site. No error messages of any kind displayed on the Images page. The Images page just returns without the image, as if nothing's happened.
I can open this pic with every single image viewing/editing software available to me, ACDSee 8, Windows Paint, Windows Office Image Manager, you name it. None of them complain of any format issues or corruption. I also have my own hosted site with Drupal and Gallery 2 running on it and I was able to post the same image to that site, no issues. So I highly doubt there's necessarily anything wrong with the image itself.
Image: 480 x 640
type: JPG (with .jpg extension, not jpeg - It's also not JPEG2000 or JP2; I've checked)
I've so far used both ACDSee and Windows Office Image Manager to convert the image to GIF and BMP and tried uploading those to no avail.
I really like this pic and want to see it on the site. Perhaps you can point me to something else I can try?

Seems to be a lot of jiggy bugs in the system of late.
Images will not display, blank profile images among ones that show photos.
I've tried several times to upload JPG's under 2MB to no avail.
Anyone at POF listening? It would be nice if they posted something on the splash/log-in page saying they are aware of problems and are doing something to correct it.
Always the little things that get overlooked.

At first I thought it was something I did since I've been uploading/deleting a lot of photos lately (trying to get one that looks good once it's on the site) and figured maybe I was blocked or something, but I'm not sure that's the case.
I just deleted a few photos and when I went to upload, it sends the photo but then it doesn't show up on the page after. I'm scared to delete any other photos b/c then I'll have a blank profile with no ability to upload new photos!
Anyone know when this might be fixed? | |

I signed in today after not being on for a month...and of the 8 photos i had on my profile, only 2 would show. The other 6 would not load and I could see that the box was checked for it to be on my profile, but could not see actual photo. So i deleted them and tried to re-upload, which does not work either. I browsed for the photo, clicked upload, and when it was done, no image appeared. I tried restarting my computer, deleting previous browsing history, even an antivirus scan. Nothing is working. Please advise, thanks! | |
