Posted: 10/12/2009 3:29:57 PM | I've been researching on the threads to see if there is ANY INFORMATION explaining to us why there is no longer a way to upload pictures on our profile???
I went to upload a new picture and found that the browse/upload info was gone.
I haven't received any information in an email about it so was wondering what is going on.
I thought we were allowed to have 8 pictures loaded in our profile?
Can anyone tell us or can a MODERATOR post a thread telling us All what is happening currently with any modifications on the site?

Posted: 10/12/2009 4:37:29 PM | if you have lost your browse button, it means your upload privileges have been revoked. this usually happens after a user has uploaded unacceptable photos several times or has had their photos reported often enough.
i'll note that your 9/30 photos may have been reported as they are very dark, and the second one also has half your face covered with hair. what that means is, not visible.
you can email a moderator, and they can tell you if you've lost the privilege. | |

^^^^^^Thank you for responding to me; however, those pictures that you mentioned were Black and white and, if I can see them FINE on my screen, why is it a problem? Also, they WERE NOT my main pictures. My main one has Always been clear.
Also, I spoke to some other friends and, they are having the same issue with respect to their pictures that they aren't able to upload any pictures and weren't sent any messages to this fact either and, they don't even live in my state.
Also, do you KNOW any names of Moderators that I can run this by?

Posted: 10/12/2009 8:19:12 PM | the problem is that YOU are not visible, aka, recognizable, which is what the site rules require. the pics are dark, making your face unrecognizable. and covering your face with hair makes it unrecognizable. people can report your profile for this, even if not your main photo. face it, some people are bored and have nothing better to do, and posting on the fora makes you a bigger target.
i can't speak as to your friends, as i have not seen their profiles. maybe they don't understand the photo rules any better than you do.
all i know is i have my photo uploading privileges, although i do note that the flash uploader seems to be gone. guess it wasn't working out.

i'd suggest trapped or puddles, since ticket hasn't been seen in a while, and aadmin doesn't reply to most mails.

Posted: 10/14/2009 11:10:37 AM | I've tried all of the suggested ways of trying to correct the problem of uploading a picture but nothing seems to be working. I've tried to upload, bigger pictures, smaller pictures, different formats of pictures......etc but it still will not work. it just says that it is loading, I even left it loading over night and it still wouldn't upload. I also tried the older way of uploading pictures but they just won't show up period nor does it tell me that I have made an error or anything. I'm really not sure what the problem is.

Posted: 10/26/2009 8:03:41 PM | The photos have always been an issue on POF - you have a free site so I understand your just saving on server space. For 1.00 a photo you should offer the FULL QUALITY HIGH REZ option. It would cost a buck to upload - but then the photo would be displayed in FULL Quality. I could integrate this feature to this site in a day - so could Marcus - but obviously you have a reason you don't want to do this because something so logical and simple that would generate tens of thousands of extra revenue for the site hasn't even been attempted.
Miss the Imeem music option - save on bandwidth cost. I understand....  | |

It just does nothing. I've tried turning off my firewall, too, and that doesn't work. It tells me the importance of this photo, but I can't seem to get my mug onto my profile! Presently you have no photos on your profile - read post #1 of this thread for instructions.

Essentially the same way you did on Facebook. You start with a picture that is located on your PC, then go to your IMAGES upload page and follow the instructions.
