i am not sure what to do and I am very upset and disapointed

What appears to happen on this site, which must be a part of the uploading process for images. Is that the images are optimized, which means they are reduced in size. Which is not about size as in measurements, but size in how many bytes the image contains. While dimensions and the number of pixels will be part of the reasons for blurry pictures.
An image of 300 KB will load slow, compared with an image of 30 KB or less.
As I understand this process, when an image is uploaded - it is also optimized - in this procedure of reducing the number of kilo bytes in a photograph, the compression process will compact parts of the picture. Larger files will end up more distorted than smaller pictures.
The file size of a picture can be checked by finding out about the properties of the picture and on Windows XP computers is seen by placing the mouse pointer on the image file and reading the information that will display on the pages
Also a picture taken under poor lighting conditions will also appear off colour or distorted in this uploading procedure

Spent most of the evening getting mad at my hosting provider, seems there are some DNS issues and people can't see images on the site especially in the east. | |

Posted: 3/31/2006 6:52:05 PM | Hope you can resolve these issues soon. It is more than a little frustrating to spend the time doing the profile bit, and then not be able to upload a pic. I will continue to try, but in the meantime will edit my profile to reflect my inability to upload a pic.
Good luck with this problem- I'm sure being an admin can be a headache sometimes. | |

| How can you make a pic smaller?
Posted: 4/5/2006 4:29:14 AM | I took pictures with a digital camera, put my disc in to the micro drive on my computer, uploaded the pics and saved them in "my pictures", hit browse, and selected.. then i tried to upload to the site, but I think the pic may be too big. How do I make it smaller? Thanks

It seems to be the same as "everyone" else is getting: go through the process, click upload and get the error message pointing you to this forum. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon. | |

Posted: 4/9/2006 10:17:23 PM | I have been trying for three months to add a couple of photos to my profile without any success. I was even instructed to send photo to the administrator and he/she would post it . but sofar I have not been able to post (Clean) photos of myself. Can you at least assist in this matter
