Waking Ned Devine... scenes made me cry from laughing so hard and yet the scene in the funeral home with the eulogy reminded me so much of my dad... that was tough... i love the movie, the music, the setting, the premise of the movie...

Just recently, TAOJJBTCRF, just about bored me to tears ... when it did get started ... it was good ... then when you thought it was over ... it continued ... and got boring again . However, Brad did shine through and his acting was good ... a trip to the Cineplex ... worth it ... in my opinion, no.

How about a movie that I'm sure will make me cry? Shake Hands With The Devil is out in theaters now. I know I'll need a few boxes of tissues and someone to go with me that won't laugh at me when I cry!!

Im going to say Forest Gump, nothing has made me go through a total facet of emotions like that movie, and i really don't expect any will, some parts where so funny i laughed till i cried (Like when he joins the army), but some parts where sad and you wanted to give the poor guy a hug (when they all get shot on that beach) or slap that women or whatever. The range of emotions from scene to scene i always found amazing! All in all great movie thats not a "tearjerker" but its got its moments!

Simple, just find a bigger suck than you... Recite lines from McDonald's and long distance commercials over the phone to potential beaus; if you can get a guy to blubber into his cel phone with 10 seconds of Madison Avenue blather, he's your man!

To the original poster:
Does getting verklempt count? I get a catch in the throat at the slightest provocation - especially historical stuff. I think I have a low threshhold as far as suspension of disbelief goes. The IMAX movie about Walking on the Moon in 3D got me emotional, I think because going there was such a wonderful scientific achievement, and something we haven't repeated in favour of fighting each other in costly and ultimately non-sensical wars (and in fact, the moon landings were done in the waning years of the Vietnam War). I think too much not to get emotional at films - so I love the ones that make you think.

I bet the movie about Romeo Dallaire would make me a basket case too, come to that.

for some strange reason, the new Elizabeth the First movie - historical, I really got into and felt for her...and it had some real vulnerable moments....another one is Circle of Friends....if I can identify with the character....look out! omg...but then some days you laugh until you cry or pee your pants....one or the other....lmao!

The Notebook (Had a great Grandma that died of Alzheimer’s)
Blades of Glory (Those poor mannequins)
Yeah, that should do it.

Here's a coincidence; there is a new documentary on the Apollo space program coming out tonight; featured in the Calgary Sun today. I got emotional at Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3-D when it played at the IMAX here in Calgary as mentioned above. It even brought a tear to my eye. I made a date with a friend to see the new one tonight not realizing it was opening night; hopefully there won't be a rush to the Uptown to go see this one.

As I recall, I saw the IMAX film with a girlfriend at the time who spent the entire movie pissed off at some remark I had made before the show began. I was enthralled by the action on screeen (I've also seen FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON in its entirety at least three times) and she was pouting over some trivial remark and refused to discuss the movie in the car afterwards, or for that matter tell me what the comment was that bothered her. I think I dared to mention in passing the name of another girl I had met at the same time I met her and her jealousy neurons started firing.

Strangely enough, the "other girl" is the one I'm taking to the movie tonight...

Anyway, point is that I hate being tremendously moved by a film only to have the impact diminished by a companion at the film who "doesn't get it." I told a friend about Saving Private Ryan's gut wrenching opening, telling him the Omaha Beach scenes were so horrifying he wouldn't need popcorn - when he went to see it with me, he made a point of eating loudly during the scenes and laughing at inappropriate moments.

Sometimes its better to go alone...

I find I'm more susceptible to be emotionally affected by a film if I'm sick with cold or flu, also.

Dont be so harsh on him, that's his way to cope with violent acts. This guy needs to get a hug and see a shrink, and not necesarily in this order. It's one thing to laugh at dismemberment in a cheesy B horror movie, quite another to laugh at something that really happened to some folks not terribly that long ago.

In addition to so many great ones already listed: Pay It Forward and would it be too obvious to suggest The Pursuit of Happyness...

Hope lots of you have someone to cuddle up with when watching these pics! If not, good friends are great to share a good tear-jerker with :-).

Shane, old yeller.
i did get kicked in the head by a crying lady behind me for laughing and making a comment when Dicaprio died in Titanic, I said "why didn't she move over and give him some room.... greedy b1tch." It was an honest question, it didn't make sense... body heat keeps you warm

I cried at the $12 I blew when my sisters suckered me into The English Patient!! Ticked me off, I tried to fall asleep in that flic but I was too pissed off to relax!! lol Then one of my sisters cheap shotted me with a gag birthday gift when she gave me the book!! Thankfully she stuck a gift cert. into the book. Whew. lol Oh yeah, I also cry at all movies made by Jean Claude VanDammit. Such brutal plotlines and believability factor with that clown. Anyone remember Sudden Death!?!? OMG
