| sex-ed questions - preg first time? Posted: 9/16/2005 10:18:24 AM | | Well, I work in the medical field and let me just say....the odds are very good she will get pregnant. Being her first time does not have any thing to do with it. Missing her period also, not really much of a factor. Your boys are swimming.....but if you love her and plan to marry her, do you think this will pose a problem? | |

| My fiance.... Posted: 9/16/2005 10:18:27 AM | You've gotten a definite answer - yes, you can get a woman pregnant on her first time.
Don't forget the possibility that she's scamming you.
She might not have been a virgin and might already have been pregnant. You might just be a ticket to a Green Card.

| sex-ed questions - preg first time? Posted: 9/16/2005 10:38:34 AM | I just learned this, and I have always thought of myself as an open minded and well informed indiv......but...
Sperm can 'live' in the uterus for up to 78 hours after they arrive, so even if she didnt ovulate 'till 'tomorrow' then she could get prego......

| sex-ed questions - preg first time? Posted: 9/16/2005 11:02:51 AM | Planned parenthood has some good info on this, they suggest sperm can remain active for up to 7 days(depending on the health of the male, and the energy source, "fructose" in the semen)...

| My fiance.... Posted: 9/16/2005 11:16:15 AM | Looks like the American educational system still sets the bar on Sex Education.
Hey now!
Some people just did not pay attention or did not get the education. You can not blame that on other peoples ignorance.

If a sperm goes to one of her eggs and it becomes fertilized, guess what?First and foremost is for her to have a home pregnancy test.
Her period could be off due to emotional stress, chemical imbalances, or hormonal changes. Doesn't guarantee a pregnancy, only a home test will determine that. I've been through that twice in my life, it is rather scary to say the least.

| sex-ed questions - preg first time? Posted: 10/8/2005 11:02:03 PM | EPT stands for Early Pregnanct Test. Not Emergency. Maybe you should get a basic biology or reproduction book. If you guys don't want to get pregnant have an emergency "morning after" contraceptive pill incase other means of contraception fail (or you fail to use one when inhibitions slide). If she's pregnant now and you aren't ready for a child, maybe she would consider an abortion. She likely has 2 choices at this point depending on how long she's been pregnant. One would be vacuum aspiration, the other would be a medication abortion. See here . Of course deciding whether or not to have the baby it yours and her decision alone, but you should be aware of all your options.

| My fiance.... Posted: 10/9/2005 12:11:18 AM | ok the whole figuring out your period thing is a myth...you are supposed to be most fertile two weeks from the first day of your last menstrual cycle..but i am living proof that i got pregnant one day out of a month that we had sex and it wasn't my most fertile..my son in the pic with me...
and yes you can get pregnant the first time...so all these people saying chances are slim...wrong...
love her and be a great dad...good luck
