| Jesus Christ Posted: 10/2/2005 10:46:47 PM | | I think G-d can do things that make you think 'holy sh-t!" But, G-d doesn't do those things for that reason... there is something more to that, later, bigger, etc. | |

the criteria is simply the fact that he was a righteous man like no one ever........faultless, in the highest sense.........never compromised his own spirituality for any reason.......obedient (to the father & subservient) to the hilt!........never shyed away from adversity............and the BIGGIE is: he never yearned to be accepted, and he came to serve!........his miracles were NOT of his doing but the will of his father (to whom he was subservient to until his glorification)......as one with the father, he could have performed all the miracles he wanted but again, he yielded to the will of his father!
i'm sure you know this yourself Count!.......you are just playing opossum here! | |

| Jesus Christ Posted: 10/3/2005 8:07:33 PM | Honestly, I had no idea what you would consider the criteria for divinity.
So now that we've established your criteria, the question is how do we know that Jesus met that criteria? Assuming for the sake of argument that the Bible is believable, what did Jesus do to show that he was more righteous than anyone else? | |

you either believe it or you don't!........if you don't have faith in it then what would be the point in debating it......unlike a mathematical formula, this isn't something that you'll ever prove thru physical means.
---------------- Assuming for the sake of argument that the Bible is believable, what did Jesus do to show that he was more righteous than anyone else? ----------------
i just gave you some examples!......to show that he just wasn't paying lip service, he willingly gave his life so that we may have access to the 'kingdom'........again, you either believe it OR not (i feel like Mr. Riply)! | |

| Jesus Christ Posted: 10/4/2005 11:15:07 AM | The Bible and who is Jesus is not revealed to you cuz......
One the entirety of the Bible has not been read Two you refuse to see the will of God.
A Basic Rule for correct Biblical Interpretation and Biblical Understanding is to use (whenever possible) the Bible to interpret itself.
It is your choice to see Jesus for who He maybe. Just do not fight about it there is no need for such.

| Jesus Christ Posted: 10/4/2005 7:23:20 PM | | Lots of people back then were crucified for things they believed in. Does that make them righteous? Besides, it doesn't look like Jesus had much of a choice. A bunch of armed men took him away. | |
|
| Jesus Christ Posted: 10/4/2005 7:33:52 PM | hell yeah He had a choice, remember what he said!!!
" no man can taketh my life.....i shall lay it down at the appointed time"
as you might know, there are passages [can't recall where just now] that indicate that various attempts were made to kill Him......but he would not allow it because it wasn't the appointed time nor the method!
He coulda vaporized every single soldier who went to get Him, but then that would not have been the will of the Father.....in fact, that would probably have been the will of Satan!!!! | |
|
| Jesus Christ Posted: 10/4/2005 8:03:44 PM | | Of course. God in human body form kills that body, by suicide. (In that one story, likely to make the strong point about 'thou shall not kill.' Meaning IF YOU KILL SOMEONE, YOU MIGHT KILL GOD. (Not as much the die for sins stuff, though.) I am talking about how the DEATH OF G-D, IN HUMAN FORM, CAN HAPPEN. This has nothing to do with 'suicide,' otherwise. God should be the one to make life/death decisions. If GOD IS a person, the only person who can decide that IS GOD. One day God might give God a heart attack... etc. Don't take this idea on other human levels, though. | |
