I also miss Saturday morning cartoons.

My great-grandma had a cabin at a place called Leesville Lake. Some of my best memories were there. I spent a lot of time playing in the campfire, or visiting my aunt Donna, who also had a place down the road. (She also had a grandson who was my age) I couldn't wait until dark, though, because everyone had multi-colored camp lights. I don't know what it was, but I loved those lights.

Not knowing what's going to happen! Adventure is such a rush. I wish that all of my experiences could be the first time.

I use to sit and sing to the clouds, and the moon, and stars. I loved going to my grandparents house, because it felt like heaven there. I liked my first crush, that was priceless.(I was to shy to tell this boy I liked him, but I would look at him and just melt. I liked him from the beganing of 7th grade, until the end of 9th grade. Then I moved.)
I miss my dad, who passed when I was four. I was granted the most wonderful father god ever gave a girl. (Then drunk driver took him away.)
The games us kids played. Deer and analope, green light, red light. Hot potatoe, tag, hide in go seek. Cowboys, and indains. shooting basketball, playing baseball, Even playing football. Yes I was a tom boy. I was in the middle of every game that I was allowed to be in the middle of. I rember running from one end of are land to the other end of are land, just to be raceing the other. I rember king of the hill. I rember climbing trees we were not sopost to be in, and acting like they were rocket ships, and we were going to the moon. (My brother went to work for Nasa for awile. Isn't that odd.) We use to climb on top of the barn and sit up there and watch the sky and just talk. I also rember laying on the grass looking up at the stars. I rember so many things. Its funny how kids now days say there isn't nothing to do. I had a bad child hood when my step dad was around, but when he wasn't we was able to be kids, and enjoy it. Thank goodness he was gone alot on trips. Would I do it over again....No. My step dad was hell. But when he wasn't there, it was wonderful. I rember once this group of boys were chasing my older brother home, and I seen them, and I just went after all of them to kick their ass, I was pissed they went after my big brother. They all ran off skard and never bothered my brother again. When I got mad I had a temper that was worse than any storm. I was skary, if I wanted to be. I didn't have to lose my temper much, because no one messed with me. I only got into two fights the whole time I was in school. We were use to being hit, so no kid skard me, and they knew it. That and I knocked my brother out one time, so they knew I could do it. Plus I gave a older cussion a black eye once, for steping on my flowers I grew. I warned him, he just didn't lission. I raised my kids where I don't hit, are lose my temper. I walk away when I get mad, if someone lets me. We learn from life even as a kid.

newness of things, isn't sad how things become so repetitive as we get older?
Especially if we find ourselves stuck an a day to day routine and going to a job that is so boring and non fullfilling.

When a kid - almost everyday something new I would discover, or a new adventure.

Give me back the days where me and my cousins would have a feild of snow before us, and we would build the biggest forts and what we thought were the best 'sculptures' out of snow...ususally out there at first light, and our mothers would have to call us in when it got dark, only breaking for lunch and hot chocolate with marshmellows...
When it snows now
Oh god, do I have to sweep the car off?, How high are gas prices going to be today?, Great now I have to find fashionable boots that are good enough so I dont slip on the ice, great have to shovel the sidewalk and driveway...

I miss, the ice cream truck that passed by our street mon-thru fri, riding bikes with baseball cards in the spoke, that made em sound like so called motor bikes.(Who knew those damn cards would be worth a fortune nowadays.),and playing hockey on the lake until your dad called you home for dinner.Just a few,i'm sure i'll remember more.NY.

I miss the majick and wonderment.
The innocence, like really believing in Santa Claus a jolly old Elf who brought presents to us.
Mickey Mouse, actually believing he was real mouse. Watching the old school Micky Mouse. Getting up on Saturday morning and watching cartoons while eating Captain Crunch or
Count Chocula. Visits from the Tooth Fairy. The BOOgie Man who might GET YOU!
The monsters that hid under my bed and crept in the shadows. Going out on Halloween to trick or treat.

I miss too the exuberance and just plain zaniness of being a kid. Actually miss going to school. Ha, sure didn't back then! Oh and all the games we played back then, army, hide and seek, kick the can, red light green light, tag, smeer the queer, red rover red rover,
snowball fights and hookie-bobbin on the back of cars in Winter Going around the neighborhood collecting pop bottles from people and cashing 'em in to load up on candy and comic books. Splashing in mud puddles and skipping all the way home on a sugar high.

The mischievousness I did back then I must admit was fun too. Knocking on doors and running like hell. Chasing my little sisters around with whatever it was I could round up to scare them with. Catching critters and letting them loose in school to cause havoc.

It is the enchantment and simplicity of just being a child that I truly miss the most.

For the most part, I miss that crazy feeling of joy that simple things like a fast game of tag or running full out would bring.

Being told "You can't have that until you're older." Now that you're older...you wonder..."Why did I want that again?"

I miss the fact that time wasn't even an issue. As you get older...you start to notice how fast time (in a day, month, year) passes by. As a kid...you couldn't care less. The only time you wanted to hurry up were Christmas, birthdays, halloween, Easter and good ol' Summer! "no more buses, no more books, no more of teacher's dirty looks"

Definately when you are a kid its' hurry up' for christmas, b-days, summer holidays, and you couldn't wait to be an adult to do adult stuff (although a lot of kids now adays do stupid adult stuff at the age of 12)...couldn't wait to grow up, couldn't wait on a lot of things period.

Now its - time please slow down...

All the cool cartoons, my brother and sister that are now gone, someone to take care of me when I'M sick, being skinny and being able to ride my bike all over the area without worrying about getting kidnapped, my Grandparents and how much simpler life was then.

I miss my grandpa too - went to the cemetary with my 10 year old niece today to 'see' him. And I notice the wonder in her eyes learning new things. Sure we still learn as we get older, but when we are children, its like a whole new world is opening to us.
I miss my kitty too :( Love my baby I have now, but you never forget those pets that were there in our hard times of growing up - the only ear you could bend without getting judged.

My mom, her smile, the smell of her hair, sound of her voice, her laugh and the way she would make all of these little pranks and games. She was amazing, my bestfriend....
everything.
